“It is difficult to describe the Global Scholars Program, how it has transformed the lives of the scholars, and the impact they have had on the Babson community. The statistics alone can tell you that these students don’t waste a moment of their experience. And the transformation that each of them goes through is nothing short of amazing. While they already have it in them, it is the support, connection, access, and opportunity that Babson provides that really makes this program incredible. It not only sets a standard for the scholars, but it also sets a standard for their peers.”
– Nicole Nicosia, Associate Director, International Student & Scholar Services
“Babson College has long known the importance of creating and supporting a global community. As entrepreneurial leaders, we know we’re at our best when we embrace different people, ideas, and ways of thinking from around the world. For a decade, Babson’s unique Global Scholars Program has proudly removed financial barriers and opened new doors for the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders from all corners of the world. The impact of this celebrated program goes well beyond its scholarship recipients—it adds significant value to the rich Babson experience for our entire community.”

When I founded the Global Scholars program in 2014, my thinking was sparked by the saying that ‘talent is equally distributed, but opportunity is not.’ We were working hard to create equal educational opportunities for all domestic students, but there was no corollary for all the incredibly talented young people from around the world who have no resources but who would blossom and thrive at Babson.
“Ten years later, I marvel at how the Global Scholars’ presence on campus has enriched the lives of our students and the depth of our classroom discussions. I am honored and excited to watch their extraordinary careers unfold. What began as a gift from Babson to 10 global youth has become one of the greatest ongoing gifts to the Babson community.”
– Kerry Murphy Healey H’24, President from 2013-2019
“This scholarship has not only relieved financial burdens but has also motivated me to excel academically and engage in extracurricular activities. Thank you for believing in my potential and for making an impact on my educational journey.”
– Ilkan Budak ’26, Turkiye
“It is hard to put into words the enormous impact that Babson and the Global Scholarship has had on my life. It has turned around the way I look at the world and has opened my eyes for the endless opportunities after Babson. My time at Babson was just four years but the mark that it has left is lifelong.”
– Martina Garabedian ’22, Bulgaria
“Being a Global Scholar was a defining feature of my Babson experience. The scholar cohort has been my tight-knit family of inspiring individuals that continually inspire me even post-graduation. A lot of activities that I was part of on campus stemmed from seeing other scholars having done them before or at their recommendation. I benefited too through mentorship from older Globies who were so generous with their advice on how to navigate corporate recruitment and manage life after school as an international student.”
– Deng Chol ’23, South Sudan
“Being a Global Scholar pushed me to embrace a global citizenship mindset. Not only did I have to adapt to a new life outside my home country, but I also learned invaluable lessons from diverse perspectives and global minds—both within Babson and on my journey there. This experience broadened my horizons and fostered a deeper understanding of global issues and cultural diversity.”
– Emmanuel Nsanganwa ’24, Rwanda
“Being a Global Scholar means having an evergrowing family of scholars who share the same experiences and passion for change. It means experiencing many firsts together and celebrating each milestone, forging lifelong friendships that transcend borders. It means breaking generational barriers, often being the first in your family or community to achieve such an honor, and serving as a role model to people back home.”
– Peace Ishimwe ’25, Rwanda
“Being a Global Scholar means having an unwavering support network on campus. Other scholars have offered invaluable advice, connected me with peers, and held me accountable. They’ve made Babson feel like my home away from home. I am equally dedicated to empowering fellow Global Scholars, just as past scholars supported me, to thrive during their time here.”
– Kimheat Chheav ’26, Cambodia
“To me, being a Global Scholar means being part of a diverse and inclusive community filled with endless support. It is an honor and a privilege to be surrounded by ambitious and driven individuals with distinct backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.”
– Solida Hoeurn ’27, Cambodia
“Being a Global Scholar has granted me access to some of the highest-quality education in the world and an entrepreneurial environment that fosters cultural exchange, intellectual growth, and personal development.”
– Paloma Ovelar ’27, Paraguay
“We are more than just a group of students who share a similar scholarship or background. Imagine characters in a book or movie who, while not performing grand gestures, are irreplaceable to the main character’s sense of safety and identity. That’s what the Global Scholars are like for me on campus.”
– Anilkumar Thevar ’27, India
