INNOVATION

Advanced Experiential

Advanced Experiential puts your skills to the test in a consulting role. You collaborate with an external organization to identify, analyze, and develop real growth ideas. You will gain leadership, problem-solving, and work experience, learn from professionals in the field, and prepare yourself for your career. Plus, it’s experience to talk about in interviews.

Socio-Ecological Systems (SES)

Our students don’t just identify problems, they solve them. SES teaches you systems thinking and sustainable problem-solving solutions for some of the world’s biggest problems, such as food insecurity, climate change, and water scarcity. You gain the context to ignite your ambitions and grow into an entrepreneurial leader, ready to tackle the global problems of tomorrow.

Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship (FME)

Learn business by doing business. In our awardwinning, first-year course FME, you develop, launch, and manage a new venture with a team of your peers. From ordering inventory to running social accounts to designing packaging and managing a team, you will learn (and do!) everything that makes a business run.

THE BABSON FORMULA FOR FUTURE SUCCESS

A Curriculum Built to Last

We fuel your personal inquiries and build your foundational knowledge through handson applications, mentorship, faculty-student relationships, clubs and organizations, and our career resources and centers and institutes.

Our curriculum is designed around a mindset that enables you to be an innovative, flexible, outside-thebox thinker. To dream big and take deliberate action. To see opportunities, value differences, and solve problems—on the trading room floor, at an ad agency, in graduate school, or around the startup brainstorm table.

You will take courses that are relevant to your career goals while expanding your understanding of the world and your place in it. Throughout, you will gain the competencies and skills, insights, and perspectives needed to catch the eye of employers and make an impact wherever you go.

You also have the option to choose from 26 concentrations to focus your learning in a specific area and grow your skills however you want.

Our experiential and collaborative courses are the hallmark of our core curriculum. These three dynamic courses empower you to expand your knowledge base, apply what you’ve learned before, and gain multiple perspectives you can tap into as you grow.

Tackle Real Problems. Find Real Solutions.

We take experiential learning seriously. Here, every principle gets pressure tested. You use the skills and knowledge picked up in your classes to develop theories of your own—and then you test those theories out through iterative, real-world experiences.

From starting a business in FME to consulting projects to classroom simulations, internships, and more, real-life practice is how you become a leader who makes a major impact wherever you go.

Today’s Learners. Tomorrow’s Leaders.

Get connected to a Boston-area business and work on a team to address a current business challenge with the Management Consulting Field Experience (MCFE) course.

Or, practice your investment skills at the Babson College Fund (BCF), as you manage a $3 million portion of the College’s endowment.

Or, pitch an idea at our campus competitions like Rocket Pitch or the B.E.T.A. Challenge. Or even bring your venture to a national stage through one of our sponsored programs. Whatever you choose, you will hone your interests, foster relationships, and receive valuable feedback.

Because you take hands-on courses across the liberal arts and sciences alongside your business classes, you have the communication skills, leadership, teamwork, and criticalthinking abilities to give you a leg up on the competition. That’s our recipe for success.

–DAVID M. BLODGETT Associate Professor of Biology
Eventually, our students will go out in the real world. As they make decisions, we encourage them to think of multiple perspectives, and how every decision they make has multiple outcomes.

I knew at Babson I would be an entrepreneur and a businesswoman.

At Babson, you are leading ventures and making a difference right away. As part of their Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship (FME) course, a group of first-year students pitched, launched, and managed Beepl, a personal alarm safety device. Their mission derives from the idea that everyone has the right to feel safer.

ARE YOU READY FOR FME?

FME is our signature first-year course where you and your team of classmates build a business. It’s an experiential learning experience that will be the basis for your Babson academic journey.
