VOLUNTEERS... You are integral to building Babson’s global network and engaging fellow alumni, parents and friends in programs and initiatives that strengthen the College community and our reputation. As we prepare to celebrate Babson’s Centennial and embark on our second century, volunteer leaders and champions like you are invaluable ambassadors for the College. We invite you to enhance your knowledge of Babson initiatives and resources and to grow your network. Join us for the second annual Volunteer Forum. Featuring interactive sessions, ample networking opportunities, and a Fireside Chat with senior leaders, the second annual Volunteer Forum will provide you with resources and ideas to elevate your impact, energize volunteer teams, and champion new or long-standing initiatives in support of Babson’s strategic priorities.

VOLUNTEER FORUM SCHEDULE OF EVENTS FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 Networking Lunch and Keynote Presentation: Infusing Innovation in Volunteering

11:30 am – 1:30 pm Re-connect with friends, meet fellow volunteers, share your volunteer experiences, learn about new opportunities to share your talent with Babson, and gain insights for infusing entrepreneurship in your volunteer efforts. The welcome luncheon will feature a keynote presentation by Professor Andrew Corbett, who will share strategies for championing innovation in your individual and team volunteer efforts. You will also hear remarks by Alexandra Piccirilli ’94, President, Babson Alumni Association and Gerri Randlett, Managing Director, Alumni and Friends Network.

Concurrent Sessions 1:45 – 3:00 pm

Accelerating Your Volunteer Efforts & Teams How do you build community within volunteer teams to maximize attendance, engage new volunteers, and inspire philanthropy? This session will provide you with innovative ideas and strategies to re-imagine your alumni events and communication plans and to champion efforts that both recruit and engage alumni as participants in your group’s activities.

Navigating the Volunteer Leadership Ladder Are you interested in serving as a volunteer for one of Babson’s advisory boards/committees or as a member of governance? Does a role on a non-profit Board of Directors interest you? In this session, an all-star panel will share their experiences and insights for climbing the volunteer leadership ladder.


Fireside Chat: Insights on Babson’s Centennial Efforts

3:15 – 4:15 pm Join the Managing Director of the Centennial Office, Lacy Garcia, and Mark Rice, Acting Provost, to learn about Babson’s plans to celebrate this institutional milestone and what the academic landscape will look like for the College as we embark on our second century.

Toast to Volunteers

4:15 – 5:00 pm Babson staff and faculty applaud volunteers for giving so generously of your time and sharing your expertise to make a difference for the College and our community.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22 College Update with President Healey and Babson Alumni Association (BAA) Meeting

8:30 – 10:00 am Join the BAA Board of Directors at its annual meeting to learn about the many ways the Board advances Babson’s mission, engages alumni around the world to support the College’s priorities and initiatives, and how you can get involved.

Volunteer Leadership Awards Brunch

10:00 am – 12:00 pm Let’s celebrate you and the collective contributions of alumni, parents, faculty/staff, and friends who have shared their time and talent with the Babson community as well as congratulate the 2018 Volunteer Leadership Award recipients.


GENERAL INFORMATION TRAVEL AND HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS As the Volunteer Forum coincides with Back to Babson 2018, we encourage you to make your travel plans and hotel accommodations as soon as possible.

LOCATION All events will be held at the Babson Executive Conference Center.
