Between 1761 and 1883, scientists drew and categorised Scandinavian wild plants and flowers using 3240 engraved copperplates. However, in recent centuries these historical records are seldom used. We want to share with you the great stories, the art, the legacies, and the passion of the Flora Danica heritage. We want to create something unique to carry with us in our everyday lives. Our passion is to pass on the tradition and heritage of Flora Danica by combining professionalism, respect, and care for our history and our brand. We believe that passion and creativity is the way forward. This modern fairytale is our gift to you.
The canvas, the leather & other materials that embrace our story Our constant quest is to combine fantastic fabrics, the spirit of beautiful colors, and the soul of the stunning Flora Danica patterns with everyday designs to produce unique products. Our 100% cotton canvas gives our bags the kind of strength that allows the beautiful patina to improve with age. The floral design is printed with modern ink-jet techniques that recreate colors and details perfectly. The canvas is treated with a coating to protect it from water and dirt. The lining of our bags is made of 100% soft cotton with our monogram print. FLORA DANICA presents a unique vegetal leather with a dense and natural appearance that makes each bag ageless. It is carefully tanned which ensures softness and a fine natural patina. Our leather goods come with an European Union approved certification for being free of formaldehyde and harmful solvents. Our silver hardware is carefully selected nickel free to ensure the wellbeing of you and the environment.
