AN INSIGHT RELATIONSHIPS INTO CASK ALES ABOUT US

Baby Bottles Wholesale has been supplying customers in the on-trade for over 40 years. During this time, one of our most popular product lines has been our impressive range of Cask Ales. In this brochure you will find all of our ‘permanently stocked’ Cask Ales. We do also have ‘Guest Ales’, the brands of which will vary from week to week, and our customers are notified about our current stocked Guest Ales, via an email blast every week.

We have a fantastic relationship with a huge range of breweries from across the UK. These stand firm on our decades of successful trade together and allows us to bring you an extensive range of ales from golden ales to black porters, at the most competitive prices!

Cask ale is a term used for an unfiltered, unpasteurised or ‘live’ liquid which contains yeast and is usually served from a traditional 9 gallon firkin. In these casks, the product is carefully matured by secondary fermentation. When looked after and positioned correctly, the yeast within the cask will settle to the bottom, the result will be a clear, often bright, full-flavoured and naturally carbonated beer to be served from the handpump.

We have a range of ways you can order your Cask Ale from us here at Baby Bottles, primarily through phoning us and speaking to our dedicated sales team to place an order. You can also place an order through our website or alternatively, you can visit us at our depot through our Cash & Carry.

OAKHAM ALES

OVERVIEW

When Oakham Ales was founded back in 1993 the brewing world was different!

They weren’t the first brewery to introduce light, hoppy beers to the UK but they were amongst the first to pioneer the use of hops from the USA and the New World.

SALOPIAN BREWERY

OVERVIEW

Salopian Brewery first brewed in Shrewsbury in 1995. Founded by Martin Barry on the site of the old Onions Dairy and like many breweries the kit they first brewed on was small and rudimentary. The brew length gave them scope to innovate and brew some wonderfully different and eclectic styles of beers that laid the foundations of what would become our Black Range. Our chairman Wilf Nelson joined the brewery in 1998 – Wilf coming on board gave the brewery much needed stability and vision to move to forward.

ORACLE

ABV Taste: Style: 4.0% Citrussy Golden

A crisp, sparkling sunflower gold ale with a striking hop profile. Dry and refreshing with a long citrus aromatic finish.

SHROPSHIRE GOLD

ABV Taste: Style: 3.8 % Floral/Hoppy Golden Bitter

Golden, with a floral aroma and a full hoppy flavour that is balanced by a crisp dry maltiness and a rich finish.

DARWIN’S ORIGIN

ABV Taste: Style: 4.3% Lemony/Dry Copper Bitter

A copper coloured Bitter given an international twist with an eclectic mix of new and old world hops that give the beer its distinctive lemony aroma and dry finish.

LEMON DREAM

ABV Taste: Style: 4.5% Lemon/Citrus Blonde

Light gold in colour and distinctively smooth, with citrus fruitiness and a refreshing hoppy finish.

HOP TWISTER

ABV Taste: Style: 4.5% Citrus/Aromatic Golden

With a palate that is fresh, piercing and focused, complemented by soft malt overtones and citrus flavours. A strong focus of taut, lemony and grapefruit finish which is balanced by a dry bitterness.

GOLDEN THREAD

ABV Taste: Style: 5.0% Floral Aromas Golden

A bright gold ale, using wheat, lager malt, and flavoured with an infusion of aroma hops. Clean and crisp to the palate with a hint of sweetness and a long fruit-filled finish.

ABBEYDALE BREWERY

OVERVIEW

Founded in 1996, we like to think that they blend creativity and innovation with heritage and tradition, reflecting these values across their beers. Their house style could typically be described as pale and hoppy, but that’s not all they can do! As the beer world has evolved so have they, covering a wide range of styles and continually pushing the boundaries of what we can create.

ABSOLUTION

ABV Taste: Style: 5.3% Fruity/Floral Golden

Fruity, premium strength golden ale showcasing hops from around the world. Willamette and Cascade hops bring a fruity, floral flavours, plus Galaxy hops for a tropical boost, all balanced by Bobek and Spalt hops.

DECEPTION

ABV Taste: Style: 4.1% Clean/Hoppy Blonde Ale

Light and refreshing NZ pale, Nelson Sauvin hops famed for delicious citrus flavours with hints of gooseberry and white grape. Hopped with Nelson, balanced by Amarillo, Chinook, Galaxy and Columbus giving a crisp bitter finish.

DAILY BREAD

Brewed to satisfy traditional English bitter drinkers in our own pub, ideal for those in yours. Our take on a classic English bitter: copper coloured, well balanced, malty flavours and a smooth bitter finish.

MOONSHINE

Hopped with Willamette, Delta, Citra, Chinook & Centennial - this is a beautifully well balanced pale perfect for any occasion.

TIMOTHY TAYLOR

OVERVIEW

Timothy Taylor’s only use the very finest ingredients in our beer. These combined with their uncompromising brewing process ensures they deliver that taste of Taylor’s every time. They can’t put it down to one thing, or even a couple of things. It’s the result of many things that they do their own way, still the traditional way, and their refusal to compromise on quality of ingredients or brewing.

BOLTMAKER

KNOWLE SPRING

ABV Taste: Style: 4.6% Zesty/Spiced Orange Pale Golden

Knowle Spring is a full-bodied blonde beer brewed with Golden Promise barley malt, Strisselspalt, Minstrel, Cascade and Chinook hops. It’s an easy-drinking beer with floral and grapefruit aromas, spiced orange on the tongue followed by aromatic citrus flavours.

GOLDEN BEST

ABV Taste: Style: 3.5% Sweet/Smooth Light Amber

The last of the true Pennine light milds. A crisp, amber coloured beer that makes a refreshing session ale.

ST AUSTELL BREWERY

OVERVIEW

Their story began in 1851 when Walter Hicks set out as a humble wine merchant and maltster. Fast forward to the present day and St Austell Brewery has become a Family Group, following the acquisition of Bath Ales in 2016.

TRIBUTE

A zesty and fresh pale ale brewed with specially sourced ingredients and hops from the UK and the USA, the malty base brings character and flavour, balancing the fresh orange and grapefruit notes.

PROPER JOB

A powerfully authentic, citrusy IPA. If a job’s worth doing, make it a proper job. Packed full of citrus, pineapple and grapefruit resinous flavours with a fine crisp bitter finish.

ANTHEM

Anthem is our new golden pale ale brewed with 100% British ingredients. The four hop varieties - Target, Olicana, Jester and Harlequin - bring the beer’s mango, peach, apricot, melon, and tangerine flavours.

Pedigree has a fascinating aroma. Palate of biscuit malt, spicy hops and light fruitiness.

OVERVIEW

Theakston is one of Britain’s oldest established family brewing companies and is famed throughout the country and overseas for its wide range of premium ales brewed in their historic Victorian tower brewery. Their legendary Old Peculier beer is sold in many countries overseas and is widely admired as a world iconic beer.

FULLER’S LONDON PRIDE

ABV Taste: Style: 4.2% Malty/Rich Amber Ale

This tawny-coloured ale borrows sweet raisin, biscuit and driedfruit notes from the Crystal malt, while fresh, piney herbs emanate from the hops. Rich, smooth and elegant on the palate, it draws to a clean, satisfying finish with beautifully balanced bitterness.

SHARP’S ATLANTIC PALE ALE

Atlantic showcases the citrus aromas and flavours of American hops without the intense bitterness sometimes associated with New World pale ales.

SHARP’S DOOM BAR

BREW XI

ABV Taste: Style: 3.6% Sweet/Bitter Amber Bitter

Clear amber color with a creamy, off-white head. Flavor is light, sweet and bitter and body is light to medium. Aroma is light malty, roasted.

ADNAMS BROADSIDE

ADNAMS GHOST SHIP

Taste: Style: 4.5% Biscuit/Citrus Pale Ale

Brewed with Pale Ale, Rye Crystal and Cara Malts which add depth and biscuity hints. A blend of Citra and other American hop varieties provide bold citrus flavours of lemon and lime, aromatic elderflower notes, and that famous hoppy finish.

GREENE KING IPA

ABV Taste: Style: 3.6% Toffee/Caramel Pale Ale

An easy drinking and refreshing IPA. Fresh dry hop, herbal character is provided by the mix of Challenger and First Gold hops. The use of crystal malt in the grist gives a satisfying toffee/ caramel note and little black malt for a clean, dry finish.

GREENE KING ABBOT ALE

Warming, malty and fruity. Pale and amber malts contribute to a mouth-filling and satisfying Horlicks and biscuity maltiness with a main fragrant fruity and floral and spicy notes.

KING OLD SPECKLED HEN

Crystal malt provides the key toffee/caramel flavour. Key character-estery or banana/pear drop. Fruity and refreshing balance. Palate cleansing herbal notes and very slight orange citrus. A very malty, full bodied and warming ale. ABV Taste: Style: 4.6% Toffee/Caramel Copper Ale
