MINI | We’re thrilled to have you on our spring cover! Let’s dive right into your life as a mom. What does your morning routine look like?

TIA MOWRY | My day starts with my son acting as my alarm clock at about 6:30 a.m. He wakes me up with kisses and hugs. One of my favorite things is cooking breakfast for my whole family, then Cree is off to school, and I am off to work on my YouTube show, “Tia Mowry’s Quick Fix.”

MINI | What do you think is the greatest challenge of motherhood?

TIA MOWRY | Working on little to no sleep.

MINI | On the flip side, what is your favorite part?

TIA MOWRY | Watching my son grow into the smart, happy kid that he is. I want him to be happy, because everything else will follow.

MINI | What surprised you most about motherhood?

TIA MOWRY | How much I worry! I wasn’t prepared for that.

MINI | How has motherhood changed you?

TIA MOWRY | I have developed more of an appreciation for life in general. I am constantly learning to appreciate the simple things in life.

MINI | What is your greatest parenting worry?

TIA MOWRY | Things that worry me the most are things that I can’t necessarily control. For example, how other people treat my child— bullying, what goes on at school while I am not there. Also, the impact of the social media generation scares me. There is so much out there on the web that we can’t control.

MINI | Tell us how you decided on your son’s name.

TIA MOWRY | My husband, Cory, actually came up with Cree’s name. It means “traveling warrior” and he definitely lives up to his name.

MINI | How is the process of naming your daughter going this time around?

TIA MOWRY | We do have a couple options we are deciding on. My husband is really good at coming up with meaningful names, so he will probably end up choosing her name too.

MINI | What were your first thoughts when you found out you were pregnant with Baby #2?

TIA MOWRY | I was in denial to be honest with you. I probably went through 20 pregnancy tests. It was hard for me to get pregnant, so I wanted to be super positive before I got too excited.

MINI | How about when you learned you were having a girl? Did you have a hunch or were completely surprised?
