A Shelter in the Venetian Lagoon House on stilts in Vignole Island
Prof. Eleonora Mantese
Vignole Island, close to Venice. A shelter on stilts thought for a famous protagonist of the Venetian history. This one was aimed to Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, a brilliant german writer. This shelter is composed by two volumes: the first was intended to be the residence, an open space in which there are a folding paper and a kitchenette, just the essentials for short stays. The second volume, even smaller, hosts a small library with a writing desk, fundamental for the customer. The volumes are supported by concrete septa that also shape the interior spaces.

From Anthropic to Natural Residences on Garda Lake
Prof. Franca Pittaluga
This area is located on the banks of Garda Lake, nothern Italy. The aim of the project was to design a residential and commercial complex for 350 people, considering the double nature of the place: anthropic, given by the proximity to the port, and natural, thanks to the great meadow on the opposite side. The complex is made by three volumes, with rectangular bases, with decreasing heights starting from the port. Even the facade finishes dialogue with this double nature of the site: the one that faces the port is finished by concrete, the other one by sliding bamboo panels.

Places of ww1 Guesthouses on the Ortigara

Monte Ortigara has been one of the fighting scenario during the World War I. The project provides a reception area for tourists equipped with guesthouses, exhibition areas and a cookhouse. These volumes are placed on the site following the natural shape of the location, which is a triangle. On one vertex there is the information point and reception area, on the second there is the exhibition area and on the last one there are small guesthouses, one- or two-story volumes. All the dimensions are minimal, so the impact of the project would be as light as possible,

In Asiago there is one of the most important military shrine of the World War I. The aim of the project was to design a museum dedicated to the WWI, with an auditorium and a coffee bar. The project proposed lays mostly underground, not wanting to interfere with the view of the shrine. The only volumes above ground are two and symmetric: the coffee bar and the access to the museum. Between the two volumes takes place a sort of square, which tries to improve the relationship between the shrine and the city.

Post Industries Residences on the “Olio Cuore� area in Silea

On an abandoned industrial area, the aim of the project was to design a new residential and commercial complex. Following the directive lines the entire area is sketchly designed. The focus is specifically on one building, placed on the corner of the area. In this project was really important the sustainability of the building, so the entire structure is made of steel and the roof is almost totally covered by photovoltaic panels. Moreover, all the buildings of the area are provided by a trigeneration plant, with a specific building placed on the other side of the area.

Venice Lost New functions for Santa Maria dei Servi

Santa Maria dei Servi is in the Venetian historic city and hosted one of the biggest church of the entire city. Now there is a student house and a nunnery. The aim of the project was to restore the relationship with the surrounding city, bringing inside this small “island� some public functions. The long building placed on the north side of the area is restored and thought to host a coffee bar and an exhibition center. Particular in this project is its being an open space covered by a brand new wood and steel roof. The interior space is modulated by a spiral staircase and galleries.

A Landscape Project Villa Farsetti in Santa Maria di Sala
Prof. Luigi Latini
Villa Farsetti is an incredible example of baroque architecture in the Venetian hinterland. In the XVIII century it hosted one of the greatest botanical garden of that time, but now what remains is just the big Palace and two annexes. The Villa lays in a quite small town, and its huge dimensions make it difficult to relate to the context. For this reason the aim of the project is to restore the dialogue between the Villa and the city taking into consideration the strong industrial imprint that the country has acquired in the recent decades. To do this, the project consists in the arrangement of the whole garden which takes on various functions: it becomes a plant nursery, a herbaceous garden, a magnolia wood and a square for the market. All the functions proposed want to bring the community inside the Villa and give it again an active role in the social life.
