How Dina Eastwood brought a South African vocal group to Carmel Ernie Bates is an internationally acclaimed producer, arranger, musician, singer and reality TV star. He has been working in the professional music industry for over 18 years and has great success worldwide. He has dedicated his life to the art of writing, composing, arranging, producing and mastering music. Ernie is also part of the South African vocal band Overtone. Overtone became a household name in 2009 after being featured in the Warner Brothers f ilm Invictus, starring Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon, directed by Clint Eastwood. The group was also featured with the Eastwood family in the E Entertainment reality show Mrs. Eastwood and Company in 2012. Ernie arranged and produced 5 songs in the film Invictus and worked with the world renowned film score producers Michael Stevens and Kyle Eastwood to arrange vocals with Overtone singing the movie’s whole soundtrack. He has done music for numerous independent films, American TV and radio ads and his work can be heard throughout the E Entertainment reality show Mrs. Eastwood and Company, ranging across 11 episodes. Ernie has worked with the movie soundtrack composer Mark Mancina. Mark wrote and produced music for The Lion King, Bad Boys and August Rush just to name a few. Ernie also worked with the Hollywood production team
“Da Internz”, who produce music for the likes of Rihanna, Boys 2 Men and Justin Bieber to produce Overtone’s song ‘Nothing else Matters’. The song became a hit in the US summer of 2012 outranking Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and PitBull on the Sirius XM radio charts. Ernie and the group Overtone were featured on every major South African TV show including the Ellen DeGeneres show, Lopez Tonight, the late late show with Graig Ferguson and VH1. Ernie shared the stage with OneRepublic, Corinne Bailey Rae, Pia Toscano’s, Kevin Bacon and the Bacon Brothers, David Foster, Kenny Logins, Kenny G and Seal. The group had the privilege to sing for Quincy Jones and Tony Bennet. Ernie is currently one of South Africa’s top music Producers. He is a Multi-instrumentalist and is known for playing all the instruments on his CD’s. Ernie is currently smashing the radio charts all over SA with his album ‘Droom’. Ernie can be booked with backing tracks or with his band ‘Ernie & the Split’ Awards Ernie recieved was Academy award nominee for the soundtrack of Invictus! Overtone is a cappella/vocal band that made its debut in 2006 and originates from Johannesburg, South Africa. Overtone is best known for their vocal renditions of pop music and diverse repertoire. In 2009 while doing a Queen tribute show in Cape Town, Dina Eastwood, by chance walked into the show. Clint Eastwood was in South Africa filming his movie Invictus, which is based on the 1995 Rugby World Cup. She was so impressed that she booked a private performance for the cast and crew of the film. A turning point for Overtone came with their involvement in the film Invictus. Clint Eastwood asked them to record a demo of the song "Shosholoza", a popular traditional Ndebele song which has been considered the second national anthem of South Africa. After liking the first song, additional songs were requested including "Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika" (the South African national anthem), "Olé olé olé – We are the Champions", "Hamba Nati", "World in Union", "Colorblind", "The Crossing (Osiyeza)" and the theme song to the film, "9000 Days". Overtone joined the promotional team in the United States where they appeared together with Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman on talk shows including The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and Lopez Tonight. Overtone was invited to the film première which was held in Los Angeles on 3 December 2009, and also did a performance for the guests at the after party. Shortly thereafter they were asked to do the majority of the movie soundtrack. Dina Eastwood kept contact with the group and shortly before the release of Invictus brought them to the United States to help promote the film. Overtone has featured as the opening act on the west leg of Corinne Bailey Rae's The Sea Tour and rock band OneRepublic. In December 2010 the casino and resort tycoon Steve Wynn hired Overtone as the feature band for a three-month run at his Wynn and Encore luxury casino and resort in Las Vegas. Overtone resided and performed out of Carmel and Los Angeles whilst being managed by Dina Eastwood. Ernie is now 10 years part of the group Overtone. The group gained their tribute through their performance of Queen in the Name of Fame theater in Cape Town, one of Ernie's greatest challenges in his singing and production career.

Die sanggroep is al vir 7 jaar aan die gang onder leiding van Juffrou Sanette Bekker. Die naam Harmonique is afgelei van die
1 woord Harmonie en die groep strewe om eerstens in harmonie met God te lewe, dan met mekaar as groep en met ander. Die sanggroep bestaan net uit meisies en Ernie is nou al 4 jaar betrokke by die groep. Ernie is die vervaardiger van hierdie groep en help die groep met verwerkings, agtergrond musiek en opnames. Ernie self het gematrikuleer by Hoërskool John Vorster, waar hy betrokke was by die orkes van die skool, waarvan juffrou Bekker in beheer was. In 2018 maak Ernie ‘n voorstel aan juffrou Bekker dat die sanggroep hul eerste cd en dvd moet vrystel. Die twee breinkragte besluit om die groep meisie op ‘n kamp te neem na Parys vir ‘n langnaweek en daar het als begin. April 2018 word die eerste dvd opname daar in Parys geskiet. Verdere opnames is ook plaaslik by Oppidam in Nigel en by die Klipkerk in Heidelberg opgeneem. Vandag tree Harmonique by kerke, dames funksies en enige ander geleenthede soos hul genooi word op. Hierdie is voorwaar ‘n groot hoogtepunt en mylpaal in die geskiedenis van Hoërskool John Vorster. Juffrou Bekker vertel dat dit nie moontlik sou wees sonder die hulp en ondersteuning van Ernie. Ernie is gevestig in Nigel hier waar hy dan ook sy eie ateljee bestuur en bedryf. Hy is in Desember 2018 getroud met Tanya en uit die huwelik is ‘n pragtige seuntjie, Keanan gebore. Sy plate maatskappy staan bekend as Deurbraak. Ernie doen cd opnames vir kunstenaars en het ook sy eie orkes genaamd, Ernie Bates Band. TruLight Radio XM Articles on Healing – Alzheimer’s Disease Alzheimer’s Disease is caused by nonbacterial inflammation. Therefore in order to understand the physical and spiritual dynamics behind Alzhemier’s Disease, you need to first read about non-bacterial inflammation that you are referred to in that section. Introduction Non-bacterial inflammation is where there is swelling and redness in the body in the absence of infection. Common diseases that involve nonbacterial inflammation include interstitial cystitis (inflammation of the bladder), prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate), ankylosing spondylitis (pain and stiffness in the spine) and myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle). To understand non-bacterial inflammation, you need to read the following two chapters which have essential background knowledge: “The Effects of Long Term Fear, Anxiety and Stress on the Body” When a person’s though life is dominated by fear and anxiety, a whole sequence of hormonal and chemical reactions are set into motion through the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus is the area in the brain that is the connection between the mind and the body – it translates everything that is going on in a person’s thought life into a physical reaction. One of the effects of stage 2 and 3 of stress is activation of mast cells. Mast cells are part of the immune system that was designed to help you kill and fight off infections. When the mast cells are activated, they release chemicals that cause inflammation, for example histamine, prostaglandins and leukotrienes. Histamine increases the diameter of the blood vessels (vasodilation) as well as increasing their permeability. This allows the water (plasma) in blood to leak into the surrounding body tissues, which results in swelling and redness. When you have an over production of histamine in your body, you have swelling. When you have swelling you have pressure on your nerves and surrounding body structures and you have discomfort, irritation and/or pain. The spiritual root behind this is fear, anxiety and stress. In non-bacterial inflammation, there is a second spiritual root that comes in which is a low self-esteem, self-hatred, selfcondemnation and guilt. This is where the chapter on autoimmune diseases is relevant as the immune system begins to attack the body in a specific area, such as the bladder, prostate, heart or bones in the spine. This results in damage to the body tissue and inflammation. Cerebral Palsy is now considered to be an autoimmune disease that afflicts the baby while it is in the womb during the fourth month of pregnancy. Alzheimer’s disease is a degenerative disease of the brain. It is characterized by progressive deterioration in memory, impaired ability to learn and retain information, inability to calculate, confusion, disorientation and deterioration of judgment. Sometimes the person can experience hallucinations (seeing and hearing something that is not there) and delusions (A delusion is a false belief that cannot be corrected by logical reasoning. An example of a delusion is a lady believing that she is the queen of England or that a chip in her tooth controls world events). Recent medical research indicates that the degeneration and loss of nerves in the brain in Alzheimer’s disease is caused by autoimmune damage which is part of the prof ile of non-bacterial inflammation. Sometimes the cells of the immune
system will destroy body tissue and sometimes they will just form a plaque (an accumulation of a substance called B amyloid). That plaque interferes with the function of that part of the body. Your thoughts exist in your brain in the form of chemical reactions and electrical current that travels along the nerves. Alzheimer’s disease is nothing more than an autoimmune disease in the brain in which the cells of the immune system build up a plaque in the neurological pathways so that thought (electrical cur rent) can’t get through and so it gets interrupted. The person hasn’t lost their memory, they just can’t stay in touch with it. Whenever you see the immune system not functioning as God designed it to, and attacking or damaging its own body tissue, it has been found that without exception there are varying degrees of self-hatred, self-rejection, self-disapproval, a low selfesteem and/or guilt upstream in the person’s thought life. In Alzheimer’s disease, this mind-set comes from fear of man where the person has spent his (or her) life performing for others. He has a fabricated personality which he allowed to be formed based on the expectation of others. As a result he has self-accusation and guilt because he lacks personal identity where he does not know who he really is. To be healed of Alzheimer’s disease, you need to deal with the toxic mind-sets causing it. Your identity comes from who you are in Christ, so quit being what other people expect you to be and be who God created you to be. Sometimes Alzheimer’s disease may be so far advanced that the person no longer has the cognitive ability or mental capacity to be able to renew his mind. In this situation, you need to pray for the person with Alzheimer’s disease and ask God to work a creative miracle and restore the nerves, neurotransmitters (chemicals in the brain) and brain tissue that has been damaged. Ask God to restore the person’s memory and mental ability so that he is able to repent and renew his mind. It is also necessary to operate in the gift of miracles even if the person still has the mental capacity to renew his mind since the damage that is done by the disease already is irreversible because brain tissue is not able to heal or regenerate itself. 10% of cases of Alzheimer’s disease are genetically inherited and this is related to the sin of self-hatred in previous generations in the person’s family tree. There are certain defective genes that have been found on chromosome 1 and 21 that cause Alzheimer’s disease (for example presenilin-1, presenilin-2 and the amyloid precursor protein gene). These defective genes incorporate certain proteins into the nerves of the brain which leads to the death of the nerves by self-destruction (apoptosis). If other members in the person’s family tree also had Alzheimer’s disease, please read about genetically inherited diseases and deal with it as explained in that Article. God created chromosome 1 and 21 perfect from the foundation of the world, and if the devil, because of generations of sin, was able to come in and mix up the DNA in the genes – God is well able to change it back the way it was. The devil is not more powerful than God is. I believe that when we line up with His Word and His conditions for healing, God can fix the genetics… and He does. Mathys Roets was die kunstenaar van die jaar en die dames het hom baie geniet. Die spreker by die Kongres was Rikalize Reinecke ‘n graad 11 leerling van Afrikaans Hoër Meisieskool Pretoria. Sy is van 2004 die trotse eienaar van ‘n Hidroponiese plaas, La Pieus Aqua. Tydens die prysuitdeling het twee van Nigel se dames weggestap met eerste plekke. Amelia Roets vir haar memo bord en Hettie Botha vir haar plaaspad foto, Hettie is ook as die lid met die meeste punte by die Kongres aangewys. Nigel tak was tweede met hul inskrywings en Goudrif streek is aangewys as die algehele wenners van die Kongres.

The 10th anniversary of the annual Thunder Tour in South Africa has arrived! From humble beginnings in 2010, with 17 VB powered musclecars, streetrods, ratrods and supercars, the thunder tour has grown to more than 70 vehicles participating in this spectacular 7 day tour through South Africa. This event is the South African version of the Power tour of the USA. Every year a new route is followed in order to showcase these spectacular vehicles, at each daily stop in various towns. It gives people who would otherwise never see these vehicles up close, the opportunity to view and
experience them first hand. Various brands are represented in the qualifying category of V8 powered petrol engines. Thunder tour participants also visit many private vehicle collections along the route. This year the tour will, as always, commence from the famous cars in the park event in August and follow a route through Limpopo and the Freestate, ending in Bloemfontein. Towns on the route will indude: Rustenburg, Thabazimbi, Lephalale, Tzaneen, Mbombela and Frankfort. The roar of these engines, has in the past brought whole towns to standstill! Owing to the sophisticated methods used, such as removing the engine serial number, replacing the upholstery, respraying the body and replacing the registration numbers, only half of the stolen vehicles are recovered. An experienced car thief can open any vehicle in approximately 30 seconds. Steering locks and types of locks pose no problem. A few hours after being stolen, the vehicle’s appearance is changed, and a couple of days later it will be totally unrecognisable, ready for sale on the second hand market – often in neighbouring countries. Sophisticated crime syndicates or organisations specialise in rebuilding and exporting stolen vehicles to other countries in Africa. PRECAUTIONS Most vehicles nowadays are factory fitted with an immobiliser. Additionally an alarm system or tracking unit can be installed for extra security. There are many systems available and you can approach your insurer for advice on the best one for you. Less effective systems can be disarmed by even an unexperienced thief. Have the vehicle’s engine and registration numbers engraved in the windows and headlights. This is a highly effective deterrent because replacing all the windows is expensive. Also take the following precautions: ∙ Switch on the alarm when you leave the vehicle and be alert all the time. ∙ Don‘t leave keys in the vehicle. ∙ Don‘t leave keys lying around where employees can gain access to them. ∙ Lock your car – even in the driveway. ∙ Don‘t park in deserted places – rather walk a little further. ∙ Don‘t keep your vehicle’s registration papers in it. ∙ When parking, lock the vehicle. Thieves watch motorists and if they leave their vehicles unlocked, they strike. ∙ Keep your vehicle locked even if you are sitting in it waiting for someone. ∙ Under no circumstances must you wind down the window or open the door if someone asks you to do so. ∙ Park in visible areas, and not in isolated places. ∙ Don‘t entrust your keys to a stranger. ∙ Don‘t leave valuable items lying in the car – rather lock them in the boot. ∙ Keep your vehicle in a good running order, with a full tank of petrol. ∙ Know how to change a wheel. ∙ Keep a fire extinguisher in your car – it can also be used for self defence. Spog motors Al gehoor van die Ultimate raod show bekend as “The Thunder Tour” indien nie kom ons vertel jul! Leon en Nan Lottering van Heidelberg vertel dat vanjaar hul derde jaar is wat hul hierdie toer beleef. Volgens Leon sien jy plekke wat jy nooit sou sien nie en baie klein dorpies het “Car collectors” wat jy nie eers van weet nie. Hierdie jaar is die 10de jaar wat die toer aangebied word en die roetes verskil jaarliks. Die voertuie wat deelneem aan die toer kan enige model wees maar moet ‘n V8 of ‘n supermotor wees. Daar is sowat 60 tot 70 voertuie wat jaarliks deelneem en hul vertrek elke jaar vanaf Zwartkops Raceway te Pretoria. Vrydag het jy die gedreun van die motors deur Nigel en Heidelberg gehoor.
