STANDARDS
REGULATING GLOVES MANUFACTURING
MEDICAL DEVICES (MD) Medical Devices in accordance with Directive 93/42/EEC (Norms EN 455 part 1,2,3 and 4) that provides the requirements for the production of medical gloves, as well as labelling requirements and assessment of biosafety and validity. The gloves, as Medical Devices, provide protection from cross contamination for both the patient and the user as they are considered an effective barrier to fluids and microorganisms.
AQL
≤ 1,5
AQL is the Acceptable Quality Level of a product and reveals the acceptable maximum number of defects in a sampling inspection. The higher the AQL number is, the lower is the product quality. EU norms about Medical Devices (Dir.93/42/EEC - EN 455-2) and Personal Protective Equipment (REG. EU 2016/42 - EN 374-2) both require AQL for micro-holes ≤ 1,5, thus the product can be declared an effective barrier against micro organisms (fungi and bacteria).
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) In April 2018 the New PPE Regulation EU 2016/425 has amended and replaced the previous PPE Directive 89/686/EEC. The new PPE regulation now specifies three classes based on risk definitions. CAT I: minimal risk; self-certified CAT II: risks other than those listed in Categories I and III; certified by approved body CAT III: Very serious risks, which may cause death or irreversible damage to health; certified by approved body Only the approved bodies may issue a CE mark for PPE CAT II and CAT III. Without a proper CE mark the gloves may not be sold or used.
EN 420:2003 This standard defines the general requirements for glove design, marking and sizing applicable to all protective gloves.
HOW TO MEASURE YOUR HAND IN ORDER TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT GLOVE SIZE • Use a dressmaker’s cloth tape to measure the circumference of the palm of your hand at its widest point (in mm). • Cross reference that measurement against the table provided here

FOOD CONTACT MATERIAL (FCM) The gloves for alimentary use are not only a fundamental hygiene measure, it is also an FCM - Food Contact Material (Regulation EC 1935/2004 - Italian Ministerial Decree 21.03.1973, EU Reg. 10/2011). What are FCMs? “Any material or article intended to come into contact with food shall be manufactured in compliance with good manufacturing practice so that they do not transfer their constituents to food in quantities which could: endanger human health, cause an unacceptable change in the food composition, or bring about a deterioration in the organoleptic characteristics thereof.” All subjects in the food production chain (producer/distributor/final user) are legally obliged to verify and respect the requirements of the legislation regarding FCMs.In line with law requirements, all Reflexx gloves are tested for overall and specific migration, using food simulants as shown in the chart here below.

FOOD LINE
100% FOOD SAFETY The Reflexx Food gloves were among the first to be specially conceived and designed for the food sector and are continuously evolving. This is a complete line of gloves with a range of differing characteristics, a products line which can be used with all types of food and in various professional sectors where gloves are used on a daily basis: the food processing and transformation industry, restaurant kitchens of all sizes, canteens, mass catering and the food sectors of large-scale retail (delicatessens, charcuterie, fishmongers, bakeries).

WHY ARE THE GLOVES BLUE? The colour of gloves for alimentary use is not a casual choice. Blue is not a colour found in any foodstuffs, and therefore in the case of cuts to the glove, any fragments can be immediately identified, thus eliminating the risk of contaminating the food. With a view to HACCP guidelines, and therefore Risk Analysis, the use of a blue glove is clearly a suitable precautionary measure.
THE REFLEXX COLLABORATIONS
The first centre dedicated to the italian culinary culture, it has chosen the quality of Reflexx gloves.
Since 2016, the Reflexx Food Line has been approved by the Federation of Italian Chefs.

CARE LINE
BECAUSE YOUR HANDS ARE PRECIOUS “The gloves are used in many jobs for several hours a day and we are aware that they can cause troubles for the most sensitive subjects. We are firmly convinced that hands are one of the most important tools for any job and everyday life and that is why we have decided to develop the REFLEXX CARE line that responds innovatively and qualitatively to your hands NUTRITION and PROTECTION needs.”
COLLOIDAL OATMEAL A number of international studies have examined colloidal oatmeal and they stated: • the EMEA (European Medicines Agency) has indicated it for the symptomatic treatment of minor inflammations of the skin. • It is a USP (United States Pharmacopeia) skin protectant drug • it is also one the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) from the US has indicated can temporarily protect and help relieve minor skin irritation and itching due to rashes or eczema 20
CARE LINE
CONDITIONS WHEN WEARING NORMAL GLOVES • Lack of oxygen • Very high humidity; no evaporation • Accumulation of oils, urea, salt and water (hydration dermatitis) • Elevated temperature • Potential irritation from glove film (contact dermatitis)
BENEFITS WHEN WEARING COATS GLOVES COATS ® technology prevents direct irritation and nd hydration dermatitis and makes the wearer as comfortable as possible by: • Creating a natural physical barrier between glove and skin - A • Absorbing water, urea and salt excretions - B • Anti-irritant and redness reduction • pH buffering • Natural moisturising
FOR A HEALTHIER SKIN
ACCELERATORS-FREE DO YOU OFTEN HAVE YOUR HANDS IRRITATED, REDDENED, SWOLLEN THOUGH NOT USING LATEX GLOVES? You have most likely developed a type IV (delayed hypersensitivity) allergy to chemical elements. The causes of these types of allergies in relation to the use of gloves, are due to chemical additives and probably to accelerating agents (eg thiurames, carbamates, benzothiazoles) used during the production process.

ALOE VERA ALOE VERA PROPERTIES Aloe vera is just one of the many aloe species, but undoubtedly, the most used both in cosmetics and health. It is a plant known since ancient times for its interesting properties. 21

SUPPORTED Supported gloves are a type of hand protecting gloves made of a coated fabric. Usually, the supported gloves are made by dipping a knitted or woven cloth liner into a liquid compound such as nitrile or polyurethane. The liner “supports” the coating and adds strength. From this originates the name SUPPORTED also. seamless KNITTED SYNTHETIC LINING for better comfort and ventilation.
Nitrile or Polyurethane PALM COATED for superior grip and tactility.
HIGH TEAR RESISTANCE to increase durability and reduce costs.
