MUTUALISTIC RENOVATION Mixed Used
There are a lot of abandoned historical buildings having quality to become so much more. But the city from urban planning to architectural designs haven’t effectively covered all the spaces . We should see them as the opportunities to integrating the old systems with new technology.

This section shows how did we deal with both new and old structure by dealing with each structure indvisualy , to avoid any rescue by mixing both systems together . The Structural system of the new building that we attached to the ancient house , it’s completely new and different than the old structure .
16
This section is about the joint between the glass box window and the ancient wall ( Materials ) . The glass box connectet to the wall with steel beem to protoct the wall from collapsing on the glass box and also stand as structure for it . It appear that we don’t have enough space in the ancientic house to put the MC system on it , and by replacing the MC system in house by using a room . by doing that we will ubuse a huge space instead of enjoying it . so we decided to use the ground as an AC system to ventlate the open space in the middle and supporting the building next to it .

REVIVAL OF OLD CITY DISTRICTS Urban Renewal
overtime, the quality of adequate living has decreased in jeddah’s old districts, such as (Al-Ruwais) with less public services and desperate users. The areas locals are threatened of being displaced. the users are divided to original locals and new migrants, were both have a relatively high sociocultural connection, within each other. The projects main goal is to empower locals by bringing in the general public attention to theses areas to invest in a social project (design district) by creating urban solutions in key areas that can spread organically as a guideline for old town district revival zones.

29 | ARCHITECTURAL PROJECTS CURRENT SITUATION The area has three local axises that both have similar attributes. They both link the area from east to west to two of the main roads of the area, Al-andalus and Hail roads. These streets cut through the area of Zone 1 acting as an important transition through this location. Because of its importance, we found a multiple local stores open in these areas serving locals and the visitor passers, always passing through rush hour times of the day to skip daily trafIc.
