Written and Illustrated by
Carolyn Sparey Fox
Little Acorn lived on a small branch at the top of a ver y tall oak tree, in a wood full of tall oak trees stretching their branches up towards the light, with their strong brown roots reaching down into the beautiful earth below.
3
Little Acorn felt safe living on a small branch at the top of the tall oak tree, which was covered in lovely green leaves shimmering in the gentle breeze and the warm summer sunshine.
4
Then , one day, autumn arrived and the warm summer sunshine slipped away. When the lovely green leaves started to fade, a wi ld wind arrived in the wood , and the wind blew and blew
and blew ver y ver y hard ,
and all the tall oak trees shook and shook and shook , and swayed and swayed and swayed .
6
As the fading leaves were blown off the branches Little Acorn was afraid that her tall oak tree and all the other oak trees would blow over in such a wi ld wind . But their strong brown roots were so deep that although all the oak trees shook and swayed , and their fading leaves blew off the branches, they didn’t blow over.
