Rock star

With views direct to Uluru and across the desert to Kata Tjuta, Longitude 131˚ is Australia’s most celebrated luxury camp. Dotted among the red-rust dunes of the Central Desert, sixteen tented pavilions offer connection with the outback landscape and its heritage as well as a glamorous base from which to explore the incredible Red Centre.

Sitting amidst ancient dunes and overlooking Australia’s best-known natural icon, Uluru, Longitude 131° is a gathering of sixteen tented pavilions including the premium two-bedroom Dune Pavilion, offering connection with the outback landscape and its heritage as well as a glamorous base from which to explore the incredible Red Centre. Unparalleled views of Uluru’s changing lights play out from the end of the bed, or on balconies from the warmth of a luxury swag unfurled in the cool night air.

Adventures in the Red Centre include guided hikes, scenic flights, camel tours, cultural experiences and witnessing the incredible Field of Light art installation at dusk. After long days exploring, the on-site Spa Kinara offers soothing therapies.

Longitude 131° offers unique spaces for group events and incentives. Dining at Longitude 131° sees a creative, contemporary Australian menu enjoyed with a view to Uluru. Artfully mixed with the flavours and stories of the land’s ancient culture, guests are treated to a unique taste of Australia. Dinner is enjoyed in the Dune House and under the stars at Table 131° on alternating days. For small intimate groups dining can be enjoyed on the Dune Top, where intimate pods offer a window to the outback after dark.

The Dune House, with its panoramic views of the outback and soaring canopy is the hub of Longitude 131°. The welcome open spaces within include a restaurant and bar with ever-changing views of Uluru as a backdrop for dining as well as lounging areas in contemporary campaign style, ideal for relaxing with an icy drink and exchanging stories of the day’s adventures in the outback. Local Aboriginal artworks create a vibrant space, ideal for planning the next adventure.

Set among the dunes at a secret location, Table 131° is a hallmark event at Longitude 131°. The southern skies over Uluru-Kata Tjuta are a glittering kaleidoscope of stars, with cool, clear nights and an absence of manufactured lights from cities or nearby dwellings creating a stargazer’s paradise. Table 131° is renowned around the world as an iconic outdoor dining experience, with a menu prepared on a remote dune top and served under a blanket of stars. The feeling of being in a natural theatre is heightened by the chefs who work by torchlight to present four sumptuous courses.

3 Dune Top & Dining Pods

Perched high on the outback landscape, the Dune Top is an intimate space comprising a help-yourself bar, outdoor lounges and plunge spa with views to both World Heritage-listed natural icons Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Private dining pods offer a window to the flush of dusk in time for an intimate dinner under the stars. Pods are suites for small groups of up to 12 guests seated on separate dining pods.

Especially at sunset, guests gather around the Great Room’s open bar, which offers premium wines, craft beers and top shelf spirits, including Baillies 9 wild gin and the local honey liqueur. Staff are on-hand to assist with mixing a cocktail or making a suggestion, and sunset drinks are served each evening to allow guests to mingle and share the day’s discoveries.

2 Restaurant

A sweeping panorama of ocean provides a dramatic backdrop for savouring world-class contemporary cuisine with a proudly local provenance. A walkin cellar offers help-yourself premium beverages, including a collection of hand-picked fine local wines, representing some of the best-known regions in South Australia.

3 Terrace

Adjacent to the Great Room, the terrace is a great option for a relaxed evening gathering with premium drinks and snacks flowing easily as the sun sets over the horizon. Perfect for daytime lounging or dining while drinking in the ocean views or taking a refreshing dip in the wet-edge pool.

4 Baudin Lounge

Arrival airport

Guests flying into Ayers Rock Airport at Uluru will encounter the warm outback climate as they make their way across the tarmac to the cool of the arrivals hall. The Longitude 131° team meet guests for the 15-minute drive to the lodge’s private location.

Silky Oaks Lodge

Guests arriving into Cairns Airport from domestic or overseas ports can hire a car for the scenic 80-minute drive north to Silky Oaks Lodge in the heart of the Daintree Rainforest.

Southern Ocean Lodge

KANGAROO ISLAND, SOUTH AUSTRALIA, AUSTRALIA

Guests are greeted in Kangaroo Island Airport's arrivals hall prior to the scenic 50-minute transfer to Southern Ocean Lodge. On departure, guests are provided with access to the lodge’s exclusive airport lounge to relax in before their outbound flight.

Other transfer options

Private luxury vehicle transfers from Ayers Rock Airport can be arranged in advance. Self-driving to Uluru is another popular option. Private vehicle access is not available at the property but parking is available offsite and complimentary transfers to and from the lodge can be arranged in advance.

Luxury transfers from Cairns Airport are available to book in advance. Scenic helicopter flights from Cairns Airport to Port Douglas offer an aerial perspective of the region and are a spectacular start or end to a stay in the Daintree.

From/to Kangaroo Island Airport

For self-drive island excursions, a 45-minute ferry service runs between Cape Jervis on the mainland and Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island, which is 90 minutes drive from the lodge. Cape Jervis is a picturesque two-hour drive from Adelaide.

A private car service can be arranged to meet guests at the airport, train station or any Adelaide city hotels. For a spectacular aerial arrival, it’s hard to beat a helicopter transfer and The Louise has a daylight helipad onsite perfect for the purpose.
