Four night itinerary

Situated among Tropical North Queensland’s world-renowned natural attractions including the Daintree Rainforest, Great Barrier Reef and Cape Tribulation, Silky Oaks is a luxurious base from which guests can plan their adventures. Four Night Signature Silky

The following represents an indicative experience over four nights. Many factors influence the delivered itinerary, including length of stay, flight arrival and departure times, pre-booked activities, availability of external tour operators, weather conditions and seasonality.

Day 1 Welcome

Travel to Silky Oaks Lodge from Cairns, winding along the spectacular coastal bends of the Great Barrier Reef Drive on a self-drive journey or opt for a private transfer service (additional charges apply). A warm welcome and a cool drink awaits at the lodge on arrival.

Day 1 Afternoon

Immerse in the sights and sounds of the rainforest with a hike along the Fig Tree Rapids trail. Plunge into the freshwater billabong for a feeling of refreshment only Mother Nature can offer.

Generous inclusions

A stay at the lodge includes tropical breakfast, dinner with inspired daily menu matched with selected premium wines, signature evening drinks hour including snacks, selected in-suite bar, morning yoga class, exclusive access to the Fig Tree Rapids walking trails and one return scheduled shuttle to Port Douglas per day. Check in / Airport transfers

Check-in time is 2pm. Where possible, flexibility with early check-in will be provided. Private vehicle and helicopter transfers from Cairns Airport to Silky Oaks Lodge may be arranged at an additional cost by contacting the lodge on +61 7 4098 1666. Prebooking is essential.

Day 1 Night

As the sun slips down, enjoy evening drinks and snacks in the Jungle Perch before dining in the relaxed ambience of the Treehouse Restaurant and savour a four-course table d’hôte menu, matched with premium wines.

Day 2 Morning

Explore the Great Barrier Reef onboard a luxury vessel to the Low Isles, the Outer Reef or Agincourt Reef, including snorkelling trips guided by marine biologists, lunch and a fascinating interpretive reef talk.

Day 2 Night

Unwind to the restorative rhythm of the tropics with evening drinks and snacks served in the Treehouse Bar. Dine at leisure in the Treehouse Restaurant and let Executive Chef Mark Godbeer guide the night's feast with a delicious selection of 'family-style' platters to share.

Day 3 Morning

Explore Far North Queensland like a local on a full-day guided tour. Visit Mossman Gorge and Cape Tribulation before a cruise on the Daintree River. Not to worry, morning tea and lunch is served along the way.

Day 3 Afternoon

Return to the lodge for an afternoon of relaxation nestled in your private hammock with a good book and a cold drink.

Evening drinks and snacks are served from 6-7pm. Dinner is served from 6–9pm in the Treehouse Restaurant.

Day 3 Night

Swap stories with fellow travellers over a drink or two at the Treehouse Bar, before moving to the Treehouse Restaurant to dine. The à la carte dinner menu offers three courses or select a homestyle favourite from the Baillie Lodges Classics menu, matched with premium Australian wines.

Day 4 Morning

Transfer mid-morning to the coastal resort town of Port Douglas. Wander along Four Mile Beach, visit the old Sugar Wharf and explore the boutique and restaurant lined main street.

Day 4 Afternoon

The Healing Waters Spa offers a menu inspired by ancient wisdoms that celebrate the life-giving force of the Mossman River. Treatments feature the Australian-made Sodashi skin care range and utilise earth clays and botanical essences as hero ingredients.

Day 4 Night

Enjoy a pre-dinner drink on the Jungle Perch before settling in for a final dining experience in the Treehouse Restaurant.

Day 5 Morning

Join an early morning yoga class, take a rainforest walk, or plunge into the invigorating Mossman River. Breathe deep the clean, green oxygen and marvel at the oldest living rainforest on the planet.

Signature experience

Silky Oaks Lodge offers one complimentary scheduled shuttle to Port Douglas per day.

Day 5 Farewell

Time for a final breakfast and to take last pictures before returning along the coastal bends to Cairns. For a final rush, depart in style with a helicopter transfer from the Silky Oaks Lodge helipad back to reality (additional charges apply).

Visit Oaks Kitchen and Garden for a cooking class in southeast Asian cuisine. Set among four acres near Oak Beach, owners Ben and Rachael have developed a working organic garden and share their love for cooking with guests in their open kitchen.

Broaden your horizons

In addition to the lodge-based leisure activities, a range of experiences with premium local operators invite further exploration. These optional excursions may be requested at time of reservation or once at the lodge subject to availability (additional charges apply). A stay of three nights or more is recommended to enable plenty of time to explore the wonders of the tropical Far North.
