Approximately 60 minutes’ drive from Cairns and 20 minutes from Port Douglas, Silky Oaks Lodge is an ideal venue for business conferences, incentive groups and milestone celebrations. A program can be developed for five or more suites travelling together, nonexclusive use groups and exclusive use groups.

Our luxury

Tucked away among lush rainforest and Queensland's iconic sugar cane fields, Silky Oaks Lodge offers guests a chance to completely entangle themselves in the beauty of the World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest. Forty treehouse-style suites accommodating up to 82 guests are designed to welcome the outside-in and feature contemporary furnishings, commissioned artworks and local timbers to evoke a real sense of the region.

Rainforest Retreat

Overlooking tropical rainforest through floor-toceiling windows, the Rainforest Retreat offers king or twin bedding and king single daybed as well as an outdoor deck with double hammock. The ensuite bathroom with shower and deep spa bath is perfect for soaking in the views.

Treehouse Retreat

The generous Treehouse Retreat offers an open plan king bedroom and lounge with king single daybed, and balcony with seating options to recline in the afternoon breeze. The bathroom with double vanity and shower features glass doors opening to a private deck with large bathtub and freestanding shower for a truly sensory bathing experience.

Treehouse Premium

Set among the rainforest canopy with lofty views, the Treehouse Premium offers open-plan sleeping and lounge areas with king bed and two king single daybeds - ideal for families. Step outside onto the balcony with daybed and hammock to relax among the treetops. The bathroom features a rain shower, double vanity and spacious bathtub, creating a day-spa vibe.

Riverhouse

Welcoming spectacular views of the Mossman River, the Riverhouse features an open-plan bedroom with king or twin beds and king single daybed, while a double hammock on the balcony invites dreamy retreat. The bathroom features a freestanding shower and opens to a private deck with outdoor bathtub overlooking the waters cascading below.

Billabong Suite

Generously spacious, the Billabong Suite offers a large lounge with integrated desk and adjoining king bedroom, both flowing outdoors to an extensive deck with daybed and hammock overlooking the Mossman River. The bathroom features a freestanding shower opening to a private deck with open-air bathtub completing a premium rainforest bathing experience.

Daintree Pavilion

Setting a new benchmark for luxury in Tropical North Queensland, the Daintree Pavilion is oneof-a-kind with dramatic skillion ceilings held aloft by glass walls. Designed for privacy, two separate sleeping areas each offer an ensuite bathroom opening to an outdoor atrium with bath under the treetops. Flowing from the shared central lounge, extensive decks feature open air lounging options with fireplace and tiered infinity pool and plunge spa floating among the cool of the forest.

A taste of the tropics

Dining at Silky Oaks Lodge celebrates the bounty of local ingredients and the nation’s finest premium produce to offer guests an innovative, contemporary Australian menu. Breakfast includes gourmet grazing and à la carte menu options, while lunch is available daily in the restaurant or as take-away explorers’ packs (additional charge applies).

In the evening, guests can enjoy signature drinks and snacks at the bar followed by a table d'hôte dinner, shared platter style or degustation dinner in the Treehouse Restaurant showcasing fresh, seasonal produce served overlooking the tranquil Mossman River.

Treetops event spaces

Silky Oaks Lodge offers customisable spaces for celebratory events and special occasions, or a stimulating environment for business meetings and conferences.

Treehouse Restaurant

Set in the cool shade of a soaring skillion roofline, the Treehouse Restaurant sits amongst the treetops at birds’ nest height. The openair dining room features generous banquette seating positioned for optimal views of the natural theatre playing out beyond.

Capacity

Jungle Perch

The Jungle Perch cantilevers out into the rainforest canopy to float over the river below, offering an intimate setting for a celebratory drink be it a cool cocktail, glass of Australian wine, or locally brewed craft beer.

Marrdja Pavilion

Set high above the river, the open-air Marrdja Pavilion offers a relaxed setting for large meetings and special events.

Meeting Package

Full day venue hire with flexible seating arrangements, two-course lunch in the Treehouse Restaurant, morning and afternoon tea and refreshments. The airy space is also ideal for private dinners for up to 60 guests, with dishes served share-style for a convivial vibe.

13-40 guests for private meetings, 20-60 guests for private dinners.

Pricing

Additional cost of $180 per person, per day for Meeting Package including one day room hire and two-course lunch. Minimum spend for 13 guests and up to a maximum of 40 guests.

Additional cost of $150 per person, per day for private group dinner. Minimum spend for 20 guests and up to a maximum of 60 guests.

Private meetings, dining and events in the Marrdja Pavilion are available for in-house guests only.

Kubirri Lounge

Separate from the main lodge, the air-conditioned Kubirri Lounge is available to book for small meetings.

Meeting Package

Full day lounge hire in a boardroom configuration, two-course lunch in the Treehouse Restaurant, morning and afternoon tea and refreshments. The Kubirri Lounge is also suitable for private dinners for up to 12 guests. An introduction to the menu by a lodge chef adds a memorable culinary element.

Included signature experiences

These experiences are included in the tariff and are provided on an intimate shared basis with fellow guests at scheduled times (unless booking exclusive use of the lodge).

Self-guided walks

For those wishing to explore, adjoining the lodge in the Daintree National Park is a series of marked walking trails including exclusive access to the pristine Fig Tree Rapids. Perfect for the adventurous to undertake at their own pace.

Yoga

Guided yoga classes each morning take a gentle pace and suit all fitness and experience levels. Held in an open-air pavilion, cares slip away with the soothing sound of the Mossman River. Sessions are shared with fellow guests at a scheduled time.

River explorations

Exploring the natural oasis of the Mossman River is as easy as wading in from the shallows and sinking into the crystal-clear waters of the billabong. Alternatively, float along in a kayak or take a snorkel and fins for a closer look down below.

Land expeditions

Silky Oaks Lodge is perfectly positioned to explore the region’s world-renowned natural wonders. From connecting with the ancient culture of the First Nations Kuku Yalanji people at Mossman Gorge and joining a safari through the Daintree Rainforest to horse riding at Cape Tribulation, mud crabbing at Cooya Beach and wildlife viewing in Port Douglas, there’s something for everyone.

Aquatic adventures

Port Douglas is the gateway to adventures on the Great Barrier Reef. Join trips visiting both the Outer Reef with its submersibles, snorkelling, diving and underwater viewing platforms and the glorious Low Isles, a group of uninhabited coral cays ideal for cruising and coral viewing. Daintree River wildlife-spotting cruises and drifting down the Mossman River are unique experiences to the region.

Aerial activities

Take to the air to see the Great Barrier Reef and surrounding wilderness of the Wet Tropics in a whole new light. Helicopter tours can be tailored to each guest's interests and range from rainforest and outback tours to a discovery of the inner and outer Great Barrier Reef. For something a little different, floating over two World Heritage-listed sites in a hot air balloon is an unforgettable experience.

Gourmet journeys

Along with rainforests and a world-famous reef, Tropical North Queensland has an abundant crop of producers, bars and eateries serving the true taste of the tropics. From trawling the produce stalls at Rusty’s Markets in Cairns to taking a cooking class at Oaks Kitchen & Garden, sampling spirits at Mt Uncle Distillery and savoring fruit sorbets from the Daintree Ice Cream Company, there is much to taste and drink!

Healing Waters Spa

Set among lush gardens, the Healing Waters Spa offers multiple treatment rooms with rainforest or river views including couples’ rooms and a Vichy shower. A signature menu of relaxation treatments feature natural earth clays, flower and plant essences and the Australian-made Sodashi skincare range. Location

Tropical North Queensland is a remarkable region where Australia’s celebrated Daintree Rainforest meets the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef. Silky Oaks Lodge is located in Mossman, 20 minutes’ drive from Port Douglas (22km) and 60 minutes’ drive north of Cairns Airport (78km). The magnificent wilderness of Cape Tribulation is 68km north – or around an hour’s drive.

Climate

Located in the Wet Tropics of Queensland World Heritage Area, the Daintree climate is characterised by two distinct seasons. The dry season from April to November offers warm days and cool nights with low humidity and temperatures ranging from 19-30°C; December to March is considered the ‘green season’ as the days and nights are hotter with more frequent cooling showers and temperatures ranging between 22-32°C.
