Winery Platter and Light Grazing
David Franz
Voted ‘Coolest Cellar Door’ in the Best Cellar Door Awards 2021 and located a short drive or bike ride from The Louise, a visit to David Franz is a must-do. The original 1860's cottage has been brought to vibrant new life with eclectic styling, filled with the warmth of a true Barossa welcome. Sample a selection of wines and build a custom platter of delicious local treats.
Yalumba
Founded in 1849, Yalumba is the oldest familyowned winery in the Southern Hemisphere, bringing 170 years of history to its immersive wine experiences. The Wine Room, with its warm open fireplace is the place for enjoying Yalumba’s premium wines. Make winetasting even more satisfying by adding smaller cheese and meze plates or the larger ‘Coopers Board’ piled high with cheese, dried fruits and charcuterie to the table.
Pindarie
The family-run Pindarie winery overlooks the undulating vineyards of the Western Ridge, encapsulating a romantically rural setting. The old grain room and heritage stables are home to the cellar door, which offers a wonderful selection of Pindarie wines including Italian varietals Fiano and Montepulciano, complemented by hearty homemade pies or share platters laden with local gourmet goodies.

Restaurant and quasi cellar door Otherness is an institution on the main street of Angaston. The restaurant brings a modern Australian culinary take to proceedings, offering à la carte, share plates and ‘feed me’ menu options designed to complement an impressive selection of local and imported wines. Otherness is a must-dine destination, delighting locals and visitors alike.
Artisans of Barossa
Artisans started as a collaborative cellar door for eight prestigious family-owned wineries and has grown into an exciting new offering; part providore, part cellar door along with two dining venues. Delikatessen offers relaxed all-day eats and drinks and the more formal Essen restaurant presents a contemporary interpretation of Barossa dining.
Fino
Situated in the historic Seppeltsfield village, Fino is recognised as one of Australia’s best destinations for a long, leisurely lunch, with the ethos of local provenance, and the simplicity of sharing a wonderful meal with friends and family. The kitchen works extensively with local producers to share the finest flavours of the season, while the front of house team deliver the best in genuine Barossa hospitality.
St Hugo
Set away from the Barossa thoroughfare, St Hugo is home to some of the region’s finest wines. The ski chalet-inspired architecture of the restaurant and tasting room presents a modernist expression unique to the valley. The exclusive ‘Riedel Tasting’ experience is highly recommended for its fun and interactive format – a surprise with every glass! The extensive modern Australian lunch menu is a fine match for the premium St Hugo label wines.
sta˙guni
Just a short walk from The Louise, sta˙guni is the flagship eatery of the Marananga School food and arts precinct (a brainchild of the clever folk from Wonderground). El Estanco
The brainchild of chefs Abby Osbourne and Julian Velasquez, El-Estanco is located on the main street of Greenock, clad in corrugated iron and surrounded by cacti and succulents. The pair's ethos is wholesome, locally sourced and seasonal food with a South American flair – plus the most decadent sweet pastries! The menu is expansive, from smaller entrees to larger Columbian specialties - but if it’s all too hard to choose, the ‘feed me’ option is recommended.
Vintners Bar & Grill
Nestled amongst vineyards with alfresco and formal dining options ready to suit the season, Vintners Bar & Grill is one of the Barossa Valley's longest operating restaurants and has long been a favourite for both locals and visitors. Bringing a modern twist to both new and traditional ingredients from across the region, the freshest produce is sourced, while each wine is carefully selected to add to the already extensive list of local and imported labels.
The Eatery
Overlooking a picturesque lake, The Eatery is located at Maggie Beer’s Pheasant Farm. The restaurant team bring an inspired ‘farm to table’ dining experience showcasing the ‘Best in Barossa’ produce, set within a stylish dining room. A visit to The Eatery is an excellent way to spend an afternoon, taking in Maggie’s own philosophy that ‘great food is for sharing’. A purpose-built cooking school with a menu of masterclasses is another great reason to visit.
Hentley Farm
Hentley Farm offers a personal dining experience with a discovery tasting menu of dishes showcasing the produce that’s found growing wild around Greenock, springing from the farm’s garden beds or cultivated by local farmers and backyard growers. The restaurant team are inspired by their relationships with local farmers and deliver dishes that let the flavours of the ingredients - along with their own personalities and talents - shine through.
Please note: Hentley Farm is very popular and can be booked up to three months in advance. Chat with The Louise’s Guest Services team for assistance with making a booking.
