MARIPOSA

Mariposa is originally a Spanish term referring to a “butterfly”. However, as history becomes the witness, the colonization of the Spaniards fluctuated the Filipino language resulting to the amalgamation of some Spanish and Filipino terms. Mariposa then, in the Filipino context, also refers to a butterfly.

Mariposa manifests several connotations. Some use such to describe metamorphosis due to the process of how a caterpillar transforms itself to become a butterfly. Some use it as a mockery to the members of the LGBTQIA++ Community, particularly the gays. Others make use of the term to portray re-birth.

MARIPOSA

Recognizing the significant processes and meaning revolving the creature, this magazine chose Mariposa as its title because such creation jives beyond metamorphosis, mockery and re-birth. It describes the raging colors, the vibrancy of life, the beauty and elegance of one’s movement, the expression of an identity, and the flaring passion to fly and to reach.

This is what Mariposa represents in fashion. The culture, the glamour, the hue-all sewn together to create masterpieces of clothing for one to indulge, to express, and to tinge his or her senses for his or her personal artistry.

ERIN

Erin wears a playful outfit that shows an ensemble of a pastel purple tube top matching with a mini skirt and is complimented with a vibrant purple long sleeves and black boots. For her accessories, she displays cute dinosaur earings, along with a pearl hairclip. Her outfit is inspired by the purple freesia flower. Just like her outfit, she easily lightens up the space.

IYA

Iya effortlessly emanates a trendy, feminine, pink striped turtle neck matching with a pastel purple velvet mini skirt with a cute detail of heart pockets and white platform sneakers. She compliments the outfit with a simple crocheted daisy earings, and butterfly hair ties. Just like the flower pink tulips, she radiates confidence and joy.

NATHAN

Nathan stands out with a bold outfit of blue tie dye buttoned down shirt, a gold pleated square pants, and a highcut brats boots.To accentuate the waist, he wears a white corset that shows off his silhouette. Topping it all of with a blue vest with embroided details of flowers and hanging pearl earings, Nathan represents the beauty and elegance of the blue orchid.

tristan

Tristan gives a modern take on the classic business attire with a green blazer that goes well together with a pink long sleeves, an eye-catching green artistic necktie, matched with a sky blue trousers and New Rocks platform shoes. Similar to the green rose, despite the complex colors, everything is balanced and elegant.

JOSHUA

Joshua gives a timeless retro look with his outfit of a yellow puffy jacket, a mint green wide leg pants with the details of white embroided groovy patterns and dads shoes. His outfit represents the vibrant yellowness of the begonia flower.
