NEW HORIZON Roles & Responsibilities of Club Presidents, Seceratarys for the year 2013-14 During the Rotary year2013-14, our beloved DG Rtn MD Dr Ajaykumar & District Trainer,PDG Rtn Baby Joseph are trying altogether different district leadership pattern. We are doing away with the position of District Chairmen and introducing the concept of Regional Directors down the line of all District Directors and Assistant Governors. Whereby a more decentralized action plan is worked out intended to increase the efficiency of the activities. • To work out the ways & means with which the Clubs can achieve the District Goals of New Horizon. • To encourage the Members to make aware and prioritize the District Priorities in the New Horizon Avenue. • To plan “menu of activities” with which the club can achieve the above. • To assist and act as a catalyst & facilitator for the members to make them invole in all your activities and projects in attaining the District Goals & Priorities • To coordinate with the other clubs in the region, nearby districts and other country through latest social media tools and encourage the members to chat with international Rotarians about your club projects and programmes. • Gaining good public relations & image in rotary

Here, we examine two key technologies which are sure to have dramatic impacts on the world. The Internet - Bringing us together, empowering our minds, and helping us foster a climate of peace throughout the world. Renewable Energy - New developments will soon allow us the means to power our cities, homes and lives with an inexhaustible supply of energy. so world peace depends all on how we use technology, totally a materialistic mindset, which is what’s wrong with the world today...You know most of us lived in peace and harmony with earth because we had things like wisdom and intuition, all this technology means nothing if people don't have intuition and wisdom. Connect mentally, emotionally and spiritually with other part of world & people through latest technology and share your activities in ROTARY, your personal & professional accomplishments.
Avenue of Service: NEW HORIZON New Horizon Project Ideas: Philosophy of helping people in a self-sustainable way. 1. Adopt a street in your resident area: • Install solar street lights • Install dump post pots in every ones home to make organic manure from kitchen waste. • Assist to build home vegetable Garden in all houses. • Making GREEN: Plant and grow more trees. • Conduct awareness programs on Energy Conservation. Conduct survey on energy consumption and suggest energy conservation ideas. • Promote new homes for sparrows and other Birds. This video attempts to highlight the effects of a 2 1/2 year iPad project completed in partnership between the Sequim Sunrise Rotary Club and the Special Education Department of the Sequim School District in Washington state. This project helped to fund, train and bring iPad technology into the hands of speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists and special education staff who serve children ages 0-21. These staff is on the direct lines working with the neediest children with special needs in the school district. The staff experienced remarkable outcomes, new motivation and success by students. Children with autism, sensory (vision, hearing) impairments, motor impairments and severe learning disabilities were particularly responsive. Our hope at Sequim Schools is to continue to advocate putting assistive technology tools in the hands of children with special needs and improving their daily lives. The Rotary and Sequim Schools partnership positively impacted not only the lives of children with special needs, but inspired staff, the Rotarians and our community. May this video encourage other communities to create similar partnerships and work together to change the daily lives of individuals with special needs, one life at a time.

Adopt a village: Mitigate the following Key challenges through technology: • Lack of primary health care facilities and sanitation. • Very high school dropout rates. • Viable farming and agricultural practices, animal husbandry. • Lack of round-the-year employment opportunities mainly during nonagricultural seasons (or failure of rains) Water management - during rainy season.
