MAKING A POSITIVE Impact
An education at Ballarat and Queen’s Anglican Grammar School is a gateway to opportunity. It offers something profoundly transformational, a genuinely life-changing experience throughout students’ school years and prepares them for their future lives.
Ballarat Grammar, as we know it today, has been built on generations of philanthropic support and generosity from our School community. The exceptional facilities and broad range of experiences our students enjoy are the product of this foresight. Such generosity has changed lives and continues to do so today.
You can learn more about how The Ballarat Grammar Foundation is working to assist the School by visiting bgs.vic.edu.au/ community/giving
Our Annual Giving campaign allows our community to share in making a positive impact on the lives and education of others. Every gift is meaningful and contributes to the power behind this school’s growth as it goes from strength to strength.
This brochure outlines the focus of this year’s Annual Giving campaign, the Scholarship Fund and the new Media Centre/TV Studio, through which your generosity can benefit our students at Ballarat Grammar in 2023 and beyond.
I invite you to join us in supporting our 2023 Annual Giving campaign and, in doing so, helping to make this goal a reality.
Remember, it is not about the amount you give –every gift makes a difference.
Adam Heath HeadmasterSCHOLARSHIP Fund
Scholarships are a significant part of the history and culture of our School. We understand that a student often needs an opportunity for intellect and talent to emerge, and the right environment to work hard and flourish. From the beginning of our history, there have been many examples of philanthropic support for students who may otherwise have been unable to attend the School or assistance for those whose families had fallen on difficult times.
Through the provision of scholarships, Ballarat Grammar can encourage a diversity of students, which is one of the fundamental strengths of our educational offering.
MEDIA CENTRE / TV Studio
The Media Centre/TV Studio has been designed and will be purpose-built to provide more opportunities for our students in media and film production. As communications and media become less centralised with content created by many across the world, these skills are becoming increasingly important.
“A great education goes beyond the textbook and the classroom. A great education fosters within learners a deep respect for others and the skills to navigate a larger human story. At Ballarat Grammar, we strive to provide students with opportunities that offer insights into diverse experiences and different perspectives. Ours is an education that enriches the lives of all students, regardless of their context, as we open gateways into their futures.”
- Brianne Cuthbert, Head of Senior SchoolThe space will be adjacent to the Beckworth Centre for the Arts eastern entry and will consist of a TV studio, an area for presenters, and a green screen for special effects. A control room will house the vision mixer and audio controls for the three TV cameras and spaces for editing and postproduction work.
This dedicated facility will replace the current temporary arrangements in various areas across the School, providing a permanent home for “BGTV News” and production, offering our media students a great place to learn and grow.
The space may also be used for live streaming content and be a dedicated facility for media creation.
