WhyBlue choose Ribbon? Susan and Gary McIndoe had run a successful Residential Care Home when they approached Blue Ribbon. In that time they had seen the face of social care change frequently. They realised that the focus of Government is very much on Domiciliary (home) care and so they decided to diversify their existing care business by operating a Blue Ribbon franchise alongside their care home business.
“Although we have lived, worked and breathed residential care over the last two decades we didn’t know where to start with creating a home care agency and I think we were very fortunate to find Blue Ribbon.” “We had initially spoken to a few of the other Franchisors out there but Blue Ribbon felt more personal and friendly. When the time came to signing up and getting on with creating the business they really got stuck in with us.”

“We work closely with our franchisees to help create and review their business plan. This helps to empower the Franchisee for the future and helps them realise the goals and expectations of being a Blue Ribbon business owner.”
Frequently asked
questions What skills do I need to have?
We are looking for a number of franchisees to run their own Health & Social Care service. Although you do not need a background in care for this franchise, we do expect a commitment to owning, operating and developing your business; a desire to deliver the best service possible and a willingness to strive for continuous improvement.
How are the franchise territories decided? We base our territories on entire counties or larger than normal local authority areas. This is based on our original business plan which enabled us to grow throughout the entire county of Conwy in North Wales. This is all decided at the business planning stage.
Can I purchase more than one franchise territory? Yes, so long as a proper business plan had been created and that resources were available to run the territories effectively. We would look to see that you had reached certain levels of growth in your existing territory before committing to another area.
Can I sell my franchise in the future? Yes. You can sell the Franchise at any point, and whilst we will work with you to find a suitable buyer we will also have the option to purchase the business.
How many franchise territories are available? We have franchise territories available throughout the UK. So that we are able to maximise the support given to new and existing franchisees we limit the number of new franchise territories each year. I don’t have all the money needed for the franchise. Can you help me to raise additional funds? We can put you in touch with our contacts in the high street banks.
Can I talk to existing franchisees? Yes. First we will require permission from our existing franchisees. This will only be done after you have visited us and signed the Non‑Disclosure Agreement. Our franchisees are busy people and will only talk to individuals who have been approved by us.
What makes you different from your competitors? Many of our competitors focus solely on Domiciliary Care. We have developed our business model over the last 12 months to incorporate a host of ‘at home services’. This diversity equates to greater business opportunities and less risk. We are a Health and Social Care organisation that uses the Franchise model rather than a Franchise business that offers home care opportunities.
