Their content revolves around honest and sometimes emotional interview-style videos in which the guys ask random strangers questions about their lives and loved ones, or play a game of truth or dare with some wholesome prompts added in for a fun twist. Think man on the street, but with more meaningful interactions. People across the country have started following their videos; in a short amount of time, the Pensacola locals have amassed around 2.5 million followers on TikTok and 132k on Instagram through their social media handle @toachieveyou.
In 2019, the group began conducting their first inter views throughout the downtown area. After some time spent interviewing people through out downtown, the group ran into a problem that made them realize it was time to expand by conducting interviews with people in other areas of the city.
“We started downtown, but it came to a point where we would interview somebody, and they’d be like, ‘you’ve already asked me this before!’ That’s when we realized that it was time to switch it up a little bit,” Cody explained. “So then, we went to UWF and things started going a lot better, in my opinion, and people were more comfort able talking to us. Downtown, many of the older individuals we approached were standoffish
because they weren’t raised to talk about their feelings.”
After just a short amount of time conducting interviews, the guys became all the buzz around the UWF campus and before they knew it, they were also buzzing on TikTok. After experiencing success locally, the group traveled to regional universities, and they recently visited multiple schools in Cali fornia.
The concept behind the group’s creative process initially began with an idea from the triplets’ friend, Edmund, who suggested that the guys create a chat room-style website in which people could discuss what they are going through to provide a platform for people to support each other. The guys loved the message of positivity and growth behind this idea, but they wanted to implement it on a different type of platform that allows their message to reach more people.
“Over time we were trying to evolve and have a more modern ized approach,” Cody explained. “So now, we make videos doing kind of the mission that we started off with, which is people talking about something they’ve gone through or their experi ences in life, and other people relate in the comments.”
Since going viral, the group has adopted this idea of provid ing people with a platform where they open up about some
thing difficult or troubling they might be going through in their life or just to simply provide a positive and supportive space for people to get things off their chest. A typical Achieve You video begins with the guys asking someone a question that prompts them to reflect on a memory, expose something about themselves or explain how they feel about something.
Examples of some of the questions include “When was the last time you cried and why?”, “Who is someone you miss?” or “Are you happy? Explain.” The guys also some times play truth or dare with interviewees, with the “truth” prompts being similar to those questions. For one of the “dare” prompts, the guys will request their interviewees perform a positive action, such as calling someone to tell them that they love them or daring them to go and give a stranger a hug.
Depending on the questions asked and how open the inter viewee is with their response, the content captured for Achieve You videos can range from funny and lighthearted to deep and heart-wrenching conversa tions. Cody described the over all nature of their content as “wholesome.”
“We create a lot of genu ine and deep interactions with people that we don’t know,” he added. “It’s just cool to see how they are willing to open up to somebody.”
In a world filled with YouTube pranks and cruel jokes, some may be hesitant to interact with complete strangers walking around with a camera. However, the Achieve You guys are work ing to turn this narrative around and show that wholesome and well-meant content creators still exist. The group aims to
approach people with kindness and honesty. Brandon and Stain explained that people appreciate the sincerity of their approach: “There’s a lot of other content creators that ask goofy ques tions. When we come up and ask them a serious one, they actually appreciate it and want to answer it,” the duo explained.
The Achieve You Team currently has plans to spread their message even further beyond their social media pages. As part of their latest venture, the guys have launched a card game called “How Deep Will You Go?” that is centered around the same concept behind their videos. “We took the experience you get from (watching) Achieve You videos and put it in a box, so that people can literally have it,” Stain explained.
The card game prompts play ers to be vulnerable and make connections with each other by answering questions like the ones asked in the Achieve You videos. “We combined all the questions we ask people (in our videos), took the best ones, and condensed them down into a card game where it gamifies a way of building deeper connec tions with people you love,” Stain elaborated.
The idea for the game came from the various responses the guys received in some of their earlier videos; people wanted the experience of connecting with the people in their own lives in the same way that the Achieve You guys connect with people in their videos. Accord ing to Cody, viewers would send direct messages to the Achieve You account and ask for a docu ment with the different inter view questions that the guys ask in their videos. “We always get direct messages saying things like ‘Yo, can you send
me a doc with other questions? I want to play with my friends.’ So, Stain thought ‘why don’t we turn it into an actual game?’”
From there, the guys knew they wanted to make this type of content accessible and bring this experience to their audience.
The game features three levels, with the intensity of the questions increasing with each level. Level one is titled “Icebreaker” and features mean ingful but less intimidating questions to help players feel more comfortable with opening up. Level two is called “Confes sions” which amps up in inten sity. In this level, players are asked to get honest and explain how they really feel about a particular topic. Finally, level three is the most intense level titled “Getting Deep.” This level features the deepest questions of the game, which are more uncomfortable to talk about and often require players to dig deep into a memory or a feeling from their past and talk about it.
The card game “How Deep Will You Go?” is currently still in production, but the group has received final samples and says it will be set to make its debut in the very near future. The guys have also set up a special text and email list for those inter ested in subscribing to receive notifications when the game is released and available for purchase on their website. To sign up for the notification list, visit howdeepwillyougo.com.
You can also keep up with the guys by following @toacheiveyou on both TikTok and Instagram, where they continue to post new content daily.

TALLAHASSEE — With Florida prop erty insurers trying to curb lawsuits, a Leon County circuit judge has refused to block a decision by Insurance Commis sioner David Altmaier that could steer at least some disputes away from court rooms.
Judge Angela Dempsey last week rejected a request by contractors for a preliminary injunction against Altmaier’s decision early this year to approve policy changes proposed by American Integrity Insurance Company of Florida.
The changes involve trying to shift claims disputes to mediation and arbi tration, rather than civil lawsuits. The changes offer premium discounts to poli cyholders who agree to use mediation and, if that doesn’t resolve the disputes, to go to binding arbitration.
Customers would have to pay their attorney fees in disputes that go to media tion and arbitration. Contractors are often heavily involved in claims disputes, as they can be assigned insurance benefits and pursue payments.
The Restoration Association of Flor ida and Air Quality Assessors, LLC, an Orange County-based firm that does work such as mold and leak detection, filed the lawsuit in May and a revised version in August. In seeking the prelim inary injunction, they argued, in part, that state law did not authorize Altmaier and American Integrity to “strip away Flor ida homeowners’ and their assignees’ (contractors’) lawful rights and reme dies when a property insurance claim is wrongfully denied.”
“The (policy) text approved by OIR (the Office of Insurance Regulation) will confuse policyholders or assign ees and subject them to mediation and confidential binding arbitration when they have a right, by law, to go to court. Equally important, OIR, as a state actor, approved the jury-trial waiver, which is inconsistent with Florida’s guarantee that the ‘right to trial by jury shall be secure to all and remains inviolate,’” an Oct. 12 motion for a preliminary injunction said, quoting part of the Florida Constitution.
But in an Oct. 31 response, American Integrity argued that an injunction would hurt policyholders who choose the medi ation and arbitration option — known as an endorsement — to receive discounted rates.
“A policyholder who does not wish to give up their right to file a lawsuit in the courts may reject the endorsement and the discount associated with it and may still obtain coverage from American Integrity — it is completely voluntary on the part of the policyholder to purchase a policy with the endorsement. … Ameri can Integrity’s policy endorsement gives homeowners the freedom to make an
LAWMAKERS LINE UP FOR 2024 AFTER WINS
NEWS SERVICE OF FLORIDA STAFF
Fresh off Nov. 8 election wins, five current or incoming lawmakers this week teed up 2024 campaigns. Sen. Danny Burgess, R-Zephyrhills, opened a campaign account to run again in Senate District 23 in Pasco and Hernando counties, according to the state Division of Elections. Meanwhile,
informed choice about an insurance prod uct that fits the homeowners’ specific needs,” the insurer’s response said.
Dempsey held a hearing last week and issued a two-page written order deny ing the motion for a preliminary injunc tion. The order did not provide a detailed explanation, though Dempsey said the plaintiffs did not meet requirements of showing such things as “irreparable harm” and a “substantial likelihood of success on the merits” of the case.
Property insurers have long blamed lawsuits and related attorney fees for many of the industry’s financial prob lems in Florida. Insurers during the past two years have dropped hundreds of thou sands of customers and sought large rate increases to try to stem financial losses, but troubles have persisted.
The Legislature held a special session in May to pass measures that included trying to reduce litigation costs. The Restoration Association of Florida has spearheaded legal challenges to the measures, which included restricting attorney fees for contractors in claims disputes.
Contractors in the past have been able to recover their attorney fees from insur ers if they were successful in the lawsuits, a concept known as “prevailing party fees.” But one of the newly passed laws (SB 2-D) stripped contractors of being able to recover prevailing-party fees when they are assigned benefits.
Homeowners can still recover prevail ing-party fees if they file lawsuits directly against insurers, but the contractors cannot.
Circuit Judge J. Lee Marsh in August dismissed a challenge filed by the Restoration Association of Florida and Air Quality Assessors to the new law. They have appealed the ruling to the 1st District Court of Appeal.
The attorney-fee restriction in the new law also has been an issue in the challenge to Altmaier’s approval of the American Integrity policy changes. The plaintiffs argued that the law did not “ratify” Altmaier’s decision, at least in part because they said the law is uncon stitutional.
“The enactment of SB 2-D was itself unconstitutional and cannot ratify the OIR’s unauthorized actions in approving the arbitration endorsement with respect to the attorneys fees’ prohibition either,” the plaintiffs’ attorneys wrote in a Nov. 7 court document.
But attorneys for Altmaier disputed such arguments.
“SB 2-D serves a legitimate govern ment purpose by amending provisions of the Florida statutes to improve the property insurance market in Florida,” they wrote in an Oct. 31 court document. “Ensuring the availability and affordabil ity of property insurance in Florida is a legitimate government purpose.”
Rep. Fred Hawkins, R-St. Cloud, Rep. Mike Caruso, R-Delray Beach, incom ing Rep. Gallop Franklin, D-Tallahas see, and incoming Rep. Fabian Basabe, R-Miami Beach, also opened accounts. Hawkins won Nov. 8 in House District 35 in Orange and Osceola counties; Caruso won in Palm Beach County’s House District 87; Franklin won in House District 8 in Leon and Gadsden counties; and Basabe won in MiamiDade County’s House District 106.
APPEALS COURT CANDIDATES CHALLENGED
JIM SAUNDERS NEWS SERVICE OF FLORIDA
TALLAHASSEE — With state appel late courts poised for an overhaul, five candidates to become judges — includ ing a lawmaker and the chairman of the Florida Gaming Control Commission — face challenges to their eligibility.
Two cases, filed late Thursday at the Florida Supreme Court, contend that Rep. Mike Beltran, R-Lithia, Florida Gaming Control Commission Chairman John MacIver and three other candidates do not meet residency requirements to serve as judges in a new 6th District Court of Appeal and a revamped 5th District Court of Appeal.
The Legislature this year approved a plan (HB 7027) that added the 6th District Court of Appeal and revised the jurisdictions of the 1st District Court of Appeal, the 2nd District Court of Appeal and the 5th District Court of Appeal. The changes are scheduled to take effect Jan. 1, and Gov. Ron DeSantis will appoint judges to fill vacant positions.
Judicial nominating commissions reviewed applicants and sent lists of candidates to DeSantis.
In one of the challenges filed at the Supreme Court, newly elected state Sen. Geraldine Thompson, D-Windermere, contends that three of 18 candidates, including Beltran, are not eligible for appointment to the 6th District Court of Appeal.
The other challenge, filed by Volu sia County resident Whitney Boan, contends that two of 15 candidates, including MacIver, are not eligible for appointment to the 5th District Court of Appeal.
The 6th District Court of Appeal, which will be based in Polk County, will hear cases from the 9th, 10th and 20th judi cial circuits — an area that includes

JUDGE WEIGHS MIGRANT FLIGHTS RECORDS CASE
NEWS SERVICE OF FLORIDA STAFF
A Leon County circuit judge Friday began hearing testimony in a lawsuit alleging the Florida Department of Transportation did not properly comply with public-records requests after statefunded flights of migrants to Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. Judge Angela Dempsey listened to testimony from two witnesses for the Florida Center for Government Accountabil ity, which filed the lawsuit in Octo ber against the department and a state
Orange, Osceola, Hardee, Highlands, Polk, Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry and Lee counties. The new appellate court will have nine judges.
Beltran lives in Hillsborough County. Thompson also is challenging 6th District candidates Stephen Everett, a Leon County circuit judge, and Jared Smith, who the case identified as a Hill sborough County attorney.
“The Florida Sixth District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commis sion exceeded the limits of its authority by certifying three nominees to Gover nor DeSantis who do not meet the consti tutional requirements to hold the office of judge on the Sixth DCA,” attorneys William Ponall and Lisabeth Fryer wrote in Thompson’s challenge. “On the date the JNC certified Judge Stephen Everett, Florida State Representative Michael Beltran, and Attorney Jared Smith as nominees, none of them resided in the territorial jurisdiction of the Sixth DCA.”
The revamped 5th District Court of Appeal, which will be based in Volu sia County, will hear cases from the 4th, 5th, 7th and 18th judicial circuits — an area that includes Duval, Nassau, Clay, Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion, Sumter, St. Johns, Putnam, Flagler, Volusia, Brevard and Seminole counties. It will have 12 judges. MacIver lives in Leon County, according to the legal chal lenge, which also disputes the eligibil ity of Palm Beach County Circuit Judge Paige Kilbane.
“Permitting individuals who reside outside the territorial jurisdiction of a district court of appeal to be nominated for positions on that court would violate the Florida Constitution and contra dict this (Supreme) Court’s stated goal of achieving proportional geographic representation,” Ponall and Fryer wrote in the 5th District Court of Appeal case.
tee. While the House has had a similarly named Local Administration & Veter ans Affairs Subcommittee the past two years, the addition of special districts to the name comes after lawmakers decided in April to dissolve the Reedy Creek Improvement District in the Orlando area and five other special districts. Reedy Creek was created in the 1960s for Walt Disney World and has provided many traditional func tions of government. Gov. Ron DeSan tis pushed to dissolve Reedy Creek after Walt Disney Co. opposed a controversial education measure that was a DeSantis priority. The dissolution, however, is not scheduled to take effect until June 2023, which means lawmakers in the coming months could decide to re-establish the district or look at alternatives.
contractor, Vertol Systems Company, Inc. Dempsey indicated she likely will resume hearing testimony the week of Nov. 28. The Florida Center for Govern ment Accountability made publicrecords requests Sept. 21 and Sept. 22, after Gov. Ron DeSantis’ administra tion flew about 50 migrants from Texas to Massachusetts, with a stop in Crest view in Northwest Florida. Another Leon County circuit judge, J. Lee Marsh, ruled Oct. 25 in a separate lawsuit that the DeSantis administration did not comply with the state’s public-records law after the open-government group made requests. The administration has appealed that ruling.
