3. The Northern Lights

The Northern Lights are one of the world’s most dazzling natural phenomena, and Sweden is one of the best locations to see them. At the right time of year, you can see the Northern Lights almost anywhere in the country – as long as you are away from the light pollution of the big cities, of course.

The further north you travel, the more likely you are to see this vibrant light show in the night sky, and Lapland is a great place to go Aurora Borealis hunting. December to April are the prime months in Sweden to see the natural spectacle, as the skies are almost perpetually dark. Head into the wilderness, far from human settlements, to experience them at their finest.
