M&T BANK GAME PREVIEW

QUOTH THE RAVEN “Today was big. My teammates [had] been telling me all week they had my back, and it felt good for them guys to show up how they did [against the Seahawks]. It felt so good to get that win [in Seattle] against an MVP-type quarterback, and the defense played the way we played. We’re on the right track.”

– S Earl Thomas III on the team's 30-16 victory in Seattle

Fresh off their bye week and winners of three-straight games, the Baltimore Ravens (5-2) host the undefeated New England Patriots (8-0) in a primetime showdown from M&T Bank Stadium. This matchup features the NFL’s Top 2 scoring offenses, with New England averaging 31.3 points per game and Baltimore owning a 30.6 ppg mark. The Patriots boast the NFL’s top scoring defense (7.6 ppg allowed), while the Ravens stand No. 2 in total offense (434.9 ypg). New England leads the regular season series, 8-1, which includes a 3-1 mark in Baltimore. However, the postseason series between these teams is tied, 2-2. Under John Harbaugh, the Ravens are 3-6 (includes postseason) overall against the Patriots. In Week 7’s 30-16 victory at Seattle, QB Lamar Jackson ran for 116 yards and a TD, while Baltimore’s defense scored on 2 takeaways (CB Marcus Peters’ 67-yard pick-six & CB Marlon Humphrey’s 18-yard FR-TD). The Ravens limited surging QB Russell Wilson to just 241 yards and 1 TD on 20-of-41 passing (65.2 rating), producing 8 QB hits and 7 TFL overall. Baltimore rushed for 199 yards and received 3 FGs from K Justin Tucker, en route to its first-ever victory in Seattle.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS • Under head coach John Harbaugh, the Ravens are 9-2 when coming off a bye week. Baltimore has won threestraight games coming off a bye. • Under Coach Harbaugh, the Ravens have outscored opponents 278-164 in games immediately following a bye. • Since the NFL’s 2002 realignment, Baltimore has produced the NFL’s best record (14-3) in games immediately following a bye.

ON THE ADDED EXCITEMENT OF PLAYING THE PATRIOTS IN PRIMETIME TONIGHT ON SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL: “You only get to play 16 [games], so to say that any of them aren’t exciting is definitely not true, because they’re just so valuable. Then, these are even more exciting, because you’re playing the defending champs. That gets you fired up. That’s what you’re in this business for. We’re excited for it, but for us, it’s really more about just taking care of our business tonight.”

9/30 The Ravens rewarded students from Waverly Elementary School with new bicycles for their outstanding participation in the NFL’s PLAY 60 Challenge.

BALTIMORE RAVENS “CAW TO ACTION” In honor of the NFL’s 100th season, the Baltimore Ravens hosted a “Huddle for 100” community day of service on Monday, Sept. 23. The league-wide Huddle for 100 initiative calls for participants to dedicate at least 100 minutes of service, with the goal of accumulating 100 million volunteer minutes among all NFL fans. To maximize resources, the Ravens teamed with the United Way of Central Maryland and over 50 charitable organizations throughout the area. Ravens players and team representatives helped lead different events with varying focuses, such as education, health, veterans, animals and more. Fans had the opportunity to answer this “Caw to Action” and join a team/cause

by which they were inspired. Fans were also invited to document and highlight their volunteerism through social media by using #RavensHuddlefor100, which also helped collect and track the total team minutes being accrued. Through the efforts of the Ravens and the surrounding community on and around Sept. 23, the Ravens earned the NFL’s “Largest Individual Huddle” superlative. Through the efforts of local and non-local fans, over 20,000 volunteers participated in over 120 projects, committing over 3.7 million minutes of volunteer work.
