ON
C OAC H H A R BAU G H S AY S FACING THE CHIEFS ON MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL:
“Who wouldn’t get excited for a game like this? When you’re playing a team that is the defending champs, the favorites to win the whole thing again – going forward – the type of players they have, the coaches they have, the head coach, Coach Reid, you are going to get excited about it. It’s not something that we downplay. We don’t ignore it. We try to embrace it and make the most of it.”

QUICK HITS • It’s an AFC primetime showdown between two undefeated teams when the Baltimore Ravens (2-0) host the Kansas City Chiefs (2-0) on Monday Night Football. Baltimore is coming off a 33-16 victory at Houston, while Kansas City secured a 23-20 OT win at the LA Chargers.
I N J U RY U P DAT E Top slot CB Tavon Young (knee) was injured last Sunday at Houston and will miss the rest of the season. Rookie DT Justin Madubuike (knee) and WR Chris Moore (broken finger) were inactive Weeks 1-2.
• Dating back to 2019, the Ravens have won 14-straight regular season games. Not since Carolina (18-straight during the 2014-15 seasons) has an NFL team won as many regular season contests in a row. The Chiefs have won eight-straight regular season games, and when including playoffs, have earned victories in 11-consecutive contests.
NOTE THE QUOTE
THE BALTIMORE SUN’S CHILDS WALKER
ON THE
RAVENS’ VERSATILITY:
“The Ravens’ Week 2 victory reminded us they don’t always need [Lamar] Jackson to be otherworldly. They’re just as capable of winning because All-Pro cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters come through with a punch-out and a diving interception, respectively. Or because offensive coordinator Greg Roman dials up a direct snap to Mark Ingram II on fourth down, leading to a back-breaking 30yard touchdown run. Or because they grind away the clock behind steamrolling fullback Patrick Ricard. Or because kicker Justin Tucker does his job perfectly. Or because they don’t give the ball away.”
• In the Week 2 win at Houston, Baltimore’s defense produced 2 takeaways (1 INT by CB Marcus Peters & 1 FR-TD by ILB L.J. Fort) and registered 4 sacks. (The “D” also tallied 13 QB hits, limiting Houston’s offense to 304 total yards.) The Ravens piled up 407 yards of offense, including 230 on the ground. QB Lamar Jackson was 18-of-24 for 204 yards, 1 TD and 0 INTs. The Ravens had nearly four players each rush for at least 50 yards: RB Gus Edwards (73), RB Mark Ingram II (55, including a 30-yard TD on fourth-and-1 to seal the game), Jackson (54) and RB J.K. Dobbins (48).
