“This team has a lot of guts, just continuous fight, never giving up and having each other’s back. When something bad happens on one end, the other end picks it up. So, it’s just a continuous fight, a continuous effort, and there’s no quit in this team.” – C Bradley Bozeman on the Ravens’ resiliency

It’s a Sunday Night Football showdown when the Baltimore Ravens (7-3) host the Cleveland Browns (6-5) in primetime tonight at M&T Bank Stadium. Baltimore sits atop the AFC North standings and is seeking its fifth win at home (4-1 thus far) this season. The Browns, who are coming off a 13-10 victory vs. Detroit in Week 11, are 2-3 on the road in 2021. The Ravens are 7-3 for the fourth time in franchise history (also 2004, 2010 & 2011) and for the third time under head coach John Harbaugh. Baltimore reached the playoffs in both 7-3 starts (2010 & 2011) during the Harbaugh Era (since 2008). Under Coach Harbaugh, the Ravens are 23-6 in November home games, producing the NFL’s second-best such record. The Ravens have won 21 of their past 26 home games during the month. Baltimore leads the all-time series vs. Cleveland, 33-11. Under Coach Harbaugh, the Ravens are 22-4 vs. the Browns, including 11-2 at M&T Bank Stadium. Baltimore has won three straight vs. Cleveland, with the last victory coming in a thrilling 47-42 Monday Night Football game (12/14/20) at FirstEnergy Stadium. Last Sunday (11/21) at Chicago, Baltimore prevailed, 16-13, after backup QB Tyler Huntley led a 5-play, 72-yard game-winning TD drive that began with 1:33 remaining in the fourth quarter. Making his first NFL start, Huntley, who filled in for QB Lamar Jackson (illness), finished 26-of-36 passing for 219 yards, including a 29-

ON FIGHTING THROUGH ADVERSITY DURING THE SEASON:
"We keep fighting. We keep persevering. We keep responding. Your responsibility is the response. Keep responding to whatever turmoil you face. This is just football, but it's kind of a metaphor [for life]. You keep responding, and then you let God do the rest. I really believe He's got your back. He's there for you. Whatever belief system you have – what other way can you look at it? You do your best. You do your best and see what happens."

the
lamar effect By dan horowitz
LAMAR JACKSON’S GAME is inherently flashy – his magic, his motor, his movement – but his personality is quite the opposite. He’s mature and mild-mannered, with an appealing purity that you’d associate more with an “Average Joe” than today’s professional athlete, let alone a unanimous NFL MVP. Time and time again, Lamar will shred a defense in entertaining fashion, then step to the podium, endearingly address the media by first name and publicly deflect credit, all while praising his offensive line and receiving corps. The dichotomy – from flash to class, flamboyant to tempered – is part of the Lamar Jackson experience. It’s also what makes two of his best friends, most cherished teammates and favorite targets the more appropriate subjects to speak on the greatness of Lamar, rather than Lamar himself. It didn’t take long for Marquise Brown’s and Lamar Jackson’s off-the-field friendship to rear its head on the field, and in Brown’s 2019 NFL debut, it was on

full display. In a homecoming game at Miami, the South Florida natives teamed up for two scores, as Lamar threw five touchdown passes in the rout, becoming the youngest quarterback in NFL history to record a perfect passer rating. “My first game I was with him, he threw five touchdowns,” Brown recollected. “My whole rookie season, just watching him play, it was, ‘Wow!’ But it really wasn’t surprising, because I had been watching him for a long time.” Although the goalposts on athletic superstardom are always moving, elevating the play of those around you is an agreed-upon pre-requisite to fit the criteria. Whether it be scrambling for improbable yardage or placing the ball in tight windows, Lamar has an unparalleled knack for making something out of nothing, and his teammates are the biggest beneficiaries of his football heroics. “Lamar is a guy who loves to win, but he really hates to lose. That drives him, and I think that’s infectious,” Mark Andrews explained, assuring that Lamar’s mentality resonates
even more than his physical talents. “He’s driven by really only a couple things, and one is winning a Super Bowl. To have that mindset, to go into work each day to try to hoist that trophy at the end of the year, it spreads to everybody around him. That is the ‘Lamar Effect.’” While he doesn’t bask in the glory of his historic, once-doubted success or his rapid ascension to fame, don’t mistake Lamar’s modesty for oblivion. “Lamar is so tuned in to who he is and the impact he has on everybody,” Brown stated. “He actually knows. He won’t say much or put it out there, but he knows certain things.” Lamar Jackson’s abilities are unique. He simply does things on the football field that have never been done before – and may never be done again. His most distinguishable trait, however, is his authenticity.
“You see so many times people getting full of themselves, but what’s incredible with Lamar is you never have to worry about that,” Andrews added. “He cares about the people around him, and he cares about his teammates. He’s a leader.” Simply put, it’s Lamar’s unwavering sameness that makes him so remarkably different.

"We have an award called the ‘Brown Shirt Award’ for the guy who does the dirty work and the tough jobs, and he’s definitely been a winner of that every year. He does that, and he’s a physical player. I know opponents and coaches really respect him." – HEAD COACH JOHN HARBAUGH
"That’s a huge weapon right there – 300 pounds of muscle. … Pat just got us in our groove [during the Vikings game] – catching the one pass with one hand, turning up and making like five guys tackle him. That just gave the whole team a boost, like, ‘Man, we have to get going.’ That’s what we needed, for sure." – QB LAMAR JACKSON
“It’s been so much fun to see Pat and the way he’s evolved and how much has been put on his plate. He’s been almost strictly a fullback for so long, and now he’s playing the full tight end position, and he’s doing a really, really good job of it. But he’s just a good dude. He’s an incredible teammate and incredible friend.” – TE MARK ANDREWS FB Patrick Ricard has worked hard to become a key member of the Ravens' offense, helping Baltimore rush for the most yards in a 16-game NFL season (2019).

DIRECT FROM PAT… WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF MAINE?
"Astronomy was really interesting. It was hard. It was interesting. It was one of those classes I was definitely into."
WHAT SUPERPOWER WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE? "Teleportation – like the movie Jumper."
IF YOU COULD HAVE ONE FOOD FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE? "Chinese food. Any Asian cuisine."
DO YOU PLAY ANY INSTRUMENTS?
"I played the piano for a couple of years when I was younger. I went to a private teacher and everything."
IF THERE WAS A DOCUMENTARY FILM ABOUT YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD THE TITLE BE? "Underdog."
WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST FEAR OR SCARIEST MOMENT?
"Definitely heights. Say we’re on a second floor, and there’s a railing looking down to the first floor – something like that. It makes me feel like I can fall over."
DID YOU KNOW? Pat originally signed with the Ravens as an undrafted rookie free agent defensive lineman out of Maine in 2017. Now in his fifth NFL season, Ricard is a two-time (2019-20) Pro Bowl fullback, who helped the Ravens rush for the most singleseason rushing yards in NFL history (3,296 in 2019).

BALTIMORE RAVENS #FEEDTHEFLOCK Earlier this month the Baltimore Ravens announced the launch of the 26th annual Ravens Family Food & Funds Drive. Over the past 26 years, the Ravens have supported the Maryland Food Bank (MFB) as the largest charitable food provider in Maryland. For more than 40 years, the Maryland Food Bank has been leading the fight against hunger in Maryland. The MFB supports a food assistance network of more than 350 community organizations that collectively provide nearly 1,450 distribution points across the state. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, MFB distributed enough food to provide 62 million meals in 2021. Throughout the entire month of November, fans have been encouraged
to donate to the team’s fundraising efforts. On Tuesday, November 30, efforts will amplify for the annual Giving Tuesday Phone-a-Thon at the food bank’s Baltimore location, as the MFB will team up with WBAL-TV 11, WBAL NewsRadio and 98 Rock to host the event. Throughout the day, fans are encouraged to call the food bank and make donations. To learn more and make a donation, fans can visit a local Baltimore Safeway, the Ravens Food and Funds Drive Team web page (mdfoodbank.fenly.org/drive/baltimoreravens-feed-the-flock/) or scan the Maryland Food Bank QR code (above).
