After 20 years together... there’s nothing we can’t tackle. Trusted medical team of the Ravens. And you.

QUOTH THE RAVEN

“Lamar, by far, is the guy right now that doesn’t have a real weakness to his game. You’ve seen the twitchy element of his athleticism that was part of the conversation early in his career. It’s gone to two different areas. His mind is crazy twitchy right now; the game is very slow for him. And then the arm is crazy twitchy now. He’s very complete as a quarterback.”

ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky on Lamar Jackson in 2024

The Baltimore Ravens (6-3), who have won six of their past seven games, host the Cincinnati Bengals (4-5) in a primetime divisional showdown on Thursday Night Football. Baltimore is 3-1 at home this season, while Cincinnati is 3-1 on the road.

In his 17th season, John Harbaugh stands as the NFL’s second-longesttenured coach (Mike Tomlin – 18). Harbaugh has led Baltimore to 11 playoff berths, winning Super Bowl XLVII in 2012 and producing a 178112 overall record (including playoffs). Coach Harbaugh is 18-15 in the regular season vs. Cincinnati, with Baltimore having won three straight games in the series, including a 41-38 OT thriller in Week 5 earlier this year.

NUMBERS TO NOTE

+2.5 – Yards-per-rush average differential by Baltimore, ranking No. 1 in the NFL. The Ravens are averaging 5.9 ypc compared to 3.4 ypc allowed (both NFL bests).

7.1 – Yards-per-play average for the Ravens’ offense, ranking No. 1 in the NFL. Baltimore’s offense has averaged 6.0+ yards per play in all nine games, tying the 2000 Rams for the longest such streak at any point of a single season in NFL history.

The NFL’s No. 1 offense (445.9 ypg) is led by two-time MVP QB Lamar Jackson, who’s been superb both passing (2,379 yards, 20 TDs & 2 INTs for an NFL-best 120.7 rating) and rushing (505 yards & 2 TDs). Baltimore’s No. 1-ranked ground attack (191.9 ypg) is fueled by RB Derrick Henry, who leads the league in rushing yards (1,052) and total TDs (13 – 11 rushing & 2 receiving).

Baltimore enters tonight’s game fresh off a 41-10 victory at home vs. Denver. In the contest, Jackson completed 16of-19 passes for 280 yards and 3 TDs (WR Zay Flowers twice and FB Patrick Ricard once), registering a perfect 158.3 passer rating. Henry totaled 23 carries for 106 yards (4.6 avg.) and 2 rushing TDs (the 100th & 101st of his career), while Flowers snagged 5 catches for a game-high 127 yards. Baltimore registered 396 total yards (269 passing & 127 rushing), while permitting Denver just 319 total yards (197 passing & 122 rushing). Behind

28-7 – An NFL-best record at home in the month of November by the Ravens since head coach John Harbaugh’s 2008 arrival.

166 – Career regular season victories for head coach John Harbaugh, tying HOFer Paul Brown for the 18th most all time. Harbaugh’s 178 total wins (reg. season + playoffs) tie Mike Shanahan and Jeff Fisher for the 16th most by a head coach.

496 – Receiving yards by WR Zay Flowers over his past five games (since Week 5), marking the NFL’s most during this span. Flowers has posted 100+ receiving yards in four of his past five outings, including 127 in last Sunday’s win vs. Denver and 111 in Week 5’s victory at Cincy.

4 sacks (OLB Tavius Robinson - 2, LB Malik Harrison & LB Trenton Simpson) and 1 INT (S Ar’Darius Washington), the Ravens limited Denver to 6-of-14 (43%) on third down and 1-of-5 (20%) on fourth down.

ON DERRICK HENRY’S IMPACT PROVIDING BALTIMORE A NEW DIMENSION:

“It’s a big thing. We have been really good at running the ball for a long time, but this [run game with Derrick Henry] is different. Derrick Henry is different. He is adding a dimension that we have not had before. You go back to Jamal Lewis, maybe. This is different, and I’m excited about it. I acknowledge that, we say that, but I can tell you, what he talked about to the team [after beating Denver on Sunday] was Thursday – ‘Let’s get ready to go Thursday night.’” john

ZAY FLOWERS IS CHASING GREATNESS

Zay Flowers knows what it’s like to be a star. He had a record-setting Year 1 in Baltimore, breaking the rookie franchise marks in receptions (77) and receiving yards (858), and he quickly became a top target for Lamar Jackson.

But in Year 2 in the NFL, he’s far from satisfied. He wants more.

Before Flowers’ 2024 season began, he was asked about his goals coming off his historic year. His answer was simple: “Go get the regular record. Try to get the record that’s the highest, honestly.”

Right now, Flowers is making a push for it.

Through nine games, the 2023 firstround pick has 654 receiving yards, putting him on pace to finish with 1,235. Michael Jackson set the franchise record for a receiver with 1,201 yards in 1996, but Flowers is hoping that soon belongs to him.

While it’s no guarantee that Flowers will break the mark this season, it’s a benchmark for the 5-foot-9 receiver they sometimes call “Joystick.” He’s looking to build a legacy as one of the all-time greats to wear a Ravens uniform, but he’s not losing track of the main thing.

“I just want to win,” Flowers said. “We had a great season last year, [and] we

want to improve on that and get to the ultimate goal.”

The shift from Year 1 to Year 2 can be drastic for some players. Their rookie season is filled with unknowns, from the length of the season to living in a new place, but in Year 2, things start to become familiar. It’s a chance for players to establish themselves even more and take their game to new heights like Flowers did.

“[I want to] take the whole game to the next level, everything from blocking to catching,” he said. “I’m trying to get better at everything, and I’m trying to improve every year and prove all the doubters wrong.”

Right now, there aren’t a ton of doubters left. Flowers is the top receiver on one of the NFL’s best offenses, and he’s only getting better. Last year, it took him 16 contests to reach 100 yards in a single game. He has already done it four times this season, including a career-high 132 yards, which he gained all in the first half against the Washington Commanders.

After a rookie season filled with success, everything is looking easier for Flowers. He’s turning into a dominant force that can be a go-to guy for Jackson, and he can feel the difference.

“[I have] more experience, so I know what’s going on better,” Flowers stated. “I can look out at a defense and tell what’s going on instead of just running.”

As Flowers continues to be one of the game’s bright young receivers, he’s always searching for more. If he eventually does break Michael Jackson’s wide receiver record, tight end Mark Andrews’ franchise-high 1,361 yards from 2021 are next on the list.

His career in Baltimore is just getting started, but his impact is certainly felt. He’s a star on the field, but he’s not satisfied. He’s chasing greatness.

“I’M TRYING TO IMPROVE EVERY YEAR AND PROVE ALL THE DOUBTERS WRONG.”

TE CHARLIE KOLAR

Charlie Kolar is on pace for a career year in his third season with the Ravens. The Iowa State product is a member of perhaps the NFL’s deepest tight ends group, and he’s developed into a key contributor as both a blocker and receiver. Learn more about him below:

IF YOU COULD GUEST STAR ON ANY TV SHOW, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

 Cutthroat Kitchen.

DID YOU/DO YOU PLAY ANY INSTRUMENTS?

 I can play the piano.

WHAT WAS THE FAVORITE CLASS/COURSE YOU TOOK IN COLLEGE?

 I really enjoyed Engineering Statics.

WHO WAS YOUR FAVORITE ATHLETE GROWING UP?

 Probably Russell Westbrook. I grew up a big OKC [Thunder] fan.

IF YOU COULD SWITCH LIVES WITH ANY ONE TEAMMATE FOR A DAY, WHO WOULD YOU CHOOSE?

 “Big Dan” [Daniel] Faalele. WHAT SUPERPOWER WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE?

 It’s hard to pass up flying – I feel like that’s a very common one. I wish I could do one of the elements of bending in [the TV show] Avatar: [The Last Airbender], like earth-bending or something. That’d be sick.

DO YOU HAVE ANY NICKNAMES AMONG FAMILY/FRIENDS/TEAMMATES?

 It’s usually some variation of “Chuck” or “Chucky.”

DO YOU SPEAK ANY OTHER LANGUAGES?

 I’m working on Spanish right now, but I always get worse about doing it during the season. I’m not fluent in any other languages.

DO YOU HAVE ANY PETS?

 Back home I have a dog – a labradoodle. But I don’t have any with me here in Baltimore.

WHAT IS THE FAVORITE COUNTRY YOU’VE VISITED?

 Well, I’ve only ever visited … So, London [during the 2023 season] was my first time out of the country, so I guess London by default. But I also went to Hawaii, which I know is still part of the U.S., but since it wasn’t one of the continental 48, it kind of felt like another country, so I’ll say Hawaii.

WHAT JOB WOULD YOU HAVE IF YOU WEREN’T PLAYING PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL?

 I’d probably do something with my engineering degree. I’m not sure, maybe if I make enough money, I can go be like a ski bum in the winter and a golf caddy in the summer and just not do anything.
