After 20 years together... there’s nothing we can’t tackle. Trusted medical team of the Ravens. And you.

QUOTH THE RAVEN

“This is Shaquille O’Neal right here. This dude is a monster. Let me tell you as a defensive player, ain’t nobody got time for that. Ain’t nobody want to see that type of nonsense. You think I want to see Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson in the backfield? That is a nastiness nobody is prepared for. That’s hard to stop. This is your Kobe [Bryant]Shaquille O’Neal year right here.”

NFL Network’s Akbar Gbajabiamila on RB Derrick Henry

The Baltimore Ravens (5-3) and Denver Broncos (5-3), who have each won five of their past six games after starting the season 0-2, face off from M&T Bank Stadium today. Denver is 3-1 on the road in 2024, while Baltimore is 2-1 at home.

In his 17th season, John Harbaugh stands as the NFL’s second-longesttenured coach (Mike Tomlin – 18). Harbaugh has led Baltimore to 11 playoff berths, winning Super Bowl XLVII in 2012 and producing a 177-112 overall record (including playoffs). Coach Harbaugh is 6-3 vs. Denver (including postseason), while the Ravens are 10-6 all time against the Broncos. Baltimore has won three straight vs. Denver, including a 10-9 contest in Charm City during the 2022 season.

The NFL’s No. 1 offense (452.1 ypg) is led by two-time MVP QB Lamar Jackson, who’s been superb both passing (2,099 yards, 17 TDs & 2 INTs for an NFL-best 115.4 rating) and rushing (501 yards & 2 TDs). Baltimore’s No. 1-ranked ground attack (200.0 ypg) is fueled by RB Derrick Henry, who leads the league in rushing yards (946) and total TDs (11 – 9 rushing & 2 receiving).

NUMBERS TO NOTE

4 – Teams to score at least 20 points and record at least 375 total yards in each of the first eight games of a season: 2024 Ravens, 2013 Broncos, 2007 Patriots and 2000 Rams.

4 – Receiving TDs by TE Mark Andrews in the past three games. The Ravens’ all-time leader in receiving scores (44), Andrews needs just 4 more TDs to surpass RB Jamal Lewis (47) for the most overall TDs in franchise history.

12th – NFL ranking for WR Zay Flowers in both receptions (41) and receiving yards (527). Flowers has posted 100+ receiving yards in three of Baltimore’s past four games.

19.2 – Average yards per reception by WR Rashod Bateman, marking the NFL’s fourth-best average this season.

Baltimore dropped a 29-24 decision that came down to the final seconds last Sunday at Cleveland. After Jackson led a 6-play, 91-yard scoring drive (capped with a Henry 2-yard TD run) to take a 24-23 lead with 2:36 remaining, Cleveland surged back and scored a 38-yard TD (Jameis Winston to Cedric Tillman) with :59 to go. Jackson then positioned the Ravens for two lastsecond chance throws from the Browns’ 24, but each fell incomplete as time expired. Jackson completed 23-of-38

41 – Consecutive games the Ravens have rushed for 100+ yards, marking the third-longest streak in NFL history. This current streak is only behind Baltimore (2018-21) & Pittsburgh (1974-77), which own the longest such streaks (43 games each.)

passes for 289 yards and 2 TDs (101.8 rating) in the game, while adding 46 rushing yards. WR Zay Flowers posted team highs in receptions (7) and receiving yards (115), while Henry finished with 73 yards on 11 carries.

ON HIS CONFIDENCE IN THE RAVENS’ ROSTER & FUTURE SUCCESS:

“I love our guys. I love our roster. I feel like our roster is really good, and I think every one of our guys is going to play really well down the stretch to the best of their ability. I know we lost a game; it’s disappointing, it’s tough, and we hate it. ... But that doesn’t mean I don’t love our players. Our players and our coaches – they’re great. They’re great players, and we’re going to play great football.”

LIVING A DREAM & CHASING A LEGACY

On any given fall Sunday, Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton can be found flying around an NFL field. But before Hamilton realized his true calling on the gridiron, he was lacing up sneakers and sinking threepointers on local basketball courts in his hometown of Atlanta, the spot where a true love for competition first ignited.

His father, Derrek, a former third-round draft pick by the New Jersey Nets, and older brother, Tyler, who’d go on to play D-1 collegiate basketball, formed a competitive trio whose mornings were spent shooting hoops at local parks or YMCAs before parting ways for school and work.

In a neighborhood bursting with athletic talent, the Hamilton brothers fell in love with the feeling of edging out one’s opponent with a combination of physicality and intelligence. Football offered Kyle the opportunity to do both.

“I started playing tackle football at 5 years old,” Hamilton expressed. “I just remember I always wanted to hit people. I feel like I would hit somebody in practice,

and they’d quit, or I’d hit somebody in a game, and they’d quit. Having that mindset from a young age definitely helps you in the league.”

Since his 2022 Baltimore arrival, Hamilton has proven to be a major factor in all facets of the game. From end zone interceptions to backfield sacks and tackles that’ll knock the wind out of even the toughest of receivers, opposing offenses must gameplan for No. 14 and know where he’s at on every snap.

“He’s one of the top players in the league,” Ravens defensive coordinator

Zach Orr boasted. “My goal for him is to one day win defensive MVP of the league. I think he has that type of talent, he has that type of work ethic, and he’s that type of person.”

Last season, Hamilton recorded 81 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, three sacks, four interceptions, one forced fumble and a team-high 13 passes defensed, en route to All-Pro and Pro Bowl nods while cementing himself as a team leader. His versatile play between the hashes also earned him a variety of nicknames –“Unicorn,” “Avatar,” “Swiss Army Knife” and “Ultimate Chess Piece,” to name just a few – from teammates and coaches.

Yet despite the accolades, Hamilton and Co. understand that the 2023 season is far behind them, so gaining recognition as the league’s top defense must be earned year after year, week after week.

“I’m my own biggest critic,” Hamilton stated. “There is always a standard that we believe we need to meet and then exceed. This season, we’ve had good weeks, we’ve had bad weeks, and I feel like it’s up to us to fix that, to right that wrong.”

As the halfway point of the NFL calendar approaches, this desire for improvement fuels Hamilton, who’s playing not only for himself and his teammates, but for the future generation that will one day follow in his footsteps.

“I’ve always had these dreams of playing in the NFL,” Hamilton reflected. “But what do I want my legacy to be once I’m done? That’s really important to me. I hope kids growing up in Atlanta today can see that I started at the same parks they did.”

G DANIEL FAALELE

Third-year OL Daniel Faalele has taken hold of the starting right guard position, helping pave the way for Baltimore’s high-power attack. Coaches and teammates alike have praised the Australian native for his versatility on the line and his relentless work ethic. Learn more about him below:

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE NBA/MLB/NHL/MLS/FORMULA 1 TEAM?

 I don’t have a favorite team, but I have a favorite NBA player. I love watching LeBron James. I’m also really into UFC. I like watching Charles Oliveira and Jon Jones.

WHAT IS THE FAVORITE PLACE YOU’VE VISITED?

 Last offseason, I actually went to Hawaii for the first time. I did this really cool dive on water scooters near the bottom of a volcano. I saw turtles in what they call a “turtle carwash,” in which they get cleaned up from different shrimp.

DO YOU HAVE ANY HIDDEN TALENTS?

 I like to build computers. During COVID, I just had a lot of time on my hands, so I just made my brother and me a computer just for fun, just for gaming purposes. I made it from scratch – from YouTube University. (laughter)

WHO IS YOUR BIGGEST MOTIVATION?

 My mom is my biggest motivation, just because growing up, she gave me and my brother all of the opportunities to be successful, let us be ourselves and chase whatever dream we wanted. A lot of the times, she would put her dreams aside so we could chase ours.

WHAT WAS THE BIGGEST CULTURE SHOCK COMING TO THE U.S.?

 Just overall, how invested people are into the sports culture here. The fans and supporters get really emotional and patriotic for their team.

WHAT FAST FOOD CHAIN DO YOU WISH WAS IN AUSTRALIA?

 Chick Fil-A. If we could get that back home, that would be a game-changer.

IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN TIME, WHAT ERA WOULD YOU GO BACK TO?

 I would travel to the early ’90s. I really like the hip-hop culture. I like Biggie and Tupac. ARE THERE ANY NONPROFIT/CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS YOU SUPPORT OR WOULD LIKE TO SUPPORT?

 I would love to bring more awareness to domestic violence and the organizations that support survivors.
