M&T BANK GAME PREVIEW

QUOTH THE RAVEN “I feel good. I love the organization, firstclass. They’ve shown a lot of love and respect. My teammates, the coaches, everyone has been welcoming, all the staff, from equipment, to strength and conditioning, nutrition, whatever it may be, in the [cafeteria], you can tell it’s a family atmosphere. It’s comfortable here. My family is here, and we’re excited about the new chapter.” – RB Mark Ingram II on his new team

Football. Is. Back. Tonight at 7:30 P.M., the Baltimore Ravens host the Jacksonville Jaguars at M&T Bank Stadium. Earlier this week, the teams held joint practice sessions with each other on Monday and Tuesday at the Ravens' Under Armour Performance Center in Owings Mills. Winning six of their last seven games in 2018 – all with QB Lamar Jackson as the starter – Baltimore (10-6) captured its first AFC North Division title since 2012 and earned a playoff berth for the seventh time during head coach John Harbaugh’s 11-year tenure. The Ravens returned to the postseason for the first time since 2014, but fell at home in the Wild Card round, 23-17, to the Los Angeles Chargers. (LAC then lost at New England in a Divisional playoff.) Under Harbaugh, who enters his 12th head coaching campaign, the Ravens have won at least 10 games in six of his 11 seasons, while Baltimore has also posted the NFL’s fifth-most total victories (114) since his 2008 Charm City arrival. The Ravens have also appeared in three AFC title games (2008, 2011 & 2012) with “Harbs” at the helm, and in 2012, won Super Bowl XLVII.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS • The Baltimore Ravens are 60-32 all time in preseason play, winning 32 of their last 41 preseason games. • Under head coach John Harbaugh (2008-18), Baltimore has compiled a 33-12 record during the preseason. • The Ravens are 31-15 all time in preseason home games, producing wins in 17 of their last 20 contests in Baltimore. • Baltimore is 29-17 all time in preseason road games, producing victories in 13 of its last 18 contests. • Baltimore has not dropped a preseason game since 2015, posting an impressive 13-0 record over the past three seasons.

This past January, Eric DeCosta, who started as a scouting intern with the Ravens in the team’s first year (1996), began his new role as Baltimore’s EVP/general manager. As was announced in 2018 by Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti, DeCosta replaces Ozzie Newsome, who continues to hold a significant role in the organization as the team’s executive vice president. The Ravens face Green Bay at home on Aug. 15 before traveling to Philadelphia for joint practices prior to an Aug. 22 contest. Baltimore then wraps up preseason action by visiting Washington on Aug. 29. 2018 2019 BALTIMORE RAVENS GAMEDAY | 5

FOOTBALL IS BACK!

as we embark on the 2019 season, let's take a look at what some of your favorite ravens are saying...

“Every year is different. Every year is a different team. The Ravens of this year are not like the Ravens of last year. Every year is a different year, but we strive to do the same thing and be great ever year. Coming in, it feels like a new team, but at the same time, we know our mission. We know our direction, and we know where we want to go.”

– DT Brandon williams "I think all three of us do things extremely well. I think we’re going to make it hard on the coaches to take us off the field. We’re out there making plays. Whether it’s Nick [Boyle], whether it’s Mark [Andrews], whether it’s myself. You guys see us: we’re all over the field making catches. It’s really fun to be in this offense, especially to be a tight end."

– TE hayden hurst “I think we already know we can play at a high level. It’s already been done. We expect to play at that level. We have a lot of pride in our [secondary] room. We have a lot of ballers and people who are striving for excellence. I think our expectations are set pretty high this year.”

– CB Jimmy Smith

“I’m very comfortable. I had months to prepare with it. There has been a lot of studying going on. I’m getting my chemistry down with my guys. I love it. I love the offense. Guys [are] flying around, guys [are] getting open. Our defense is giving us great looks. But our offense, they’re working. From the tight ends to the receivers, running backs and the linemen ... Our offense is looking pretty good.”

- QB Lamar Jackson "We definitely have the potential to be the best. And it starts with attitude, which we already have. So, now it’s just getting to kick-start everything and making sure we’re on the same page. Communication – I go back to that, because that’s big for us. We have it all. We’re going to hit. We’re going to fly around. We’re very physical and fast. We have big corners on the outside. Tony [Jefferson] has the juice at the strong safety. ‘Tay’ [Tavon Young] has it locked up at the nickel. We got it. And we have people coming off the bench, that’s nice, as well, with ‘B’ [Brandon] Carr. We have all the pieces. We have depth. We just need to keep communicating.”

– S Earl thomas iii

"[Coach Harbaugh told us to] just be a smart, physical, tough, blue-collar defense and be humble. Same thing with Baltimore – we’re never going to back down for anybody. We’re going to do what we have to do."

– LB Patrick onwuasor

IN OUR COMMUNITY

3/29 For the first time, the Ravens hosted 65 students from seven local historically black colleges and universities (HBCU) for an all-day career combine at the Under Armour Performance Center.

5/29 The Ravens annually host a luncheon honoring current and former Ravens Scholars.

2019 RAVENS SCHOLARS For the 10th-consecutive year, five outstanding Baltimore-area high school seniors who displayed remarkable academic achievement, extra-curricular participation and community service were selected as the 2019 Ravens Scholars. Funded by the Ravens Foundation, Inc., the scholarship program enables local youth to continue their education on the collegiate level. The team has a long-standing history of service to local communities, and this fund helps support those who exhibit the same commitment. Applications were accepted from students who attend public schools in Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Carroll County, areas where the Ravens operate training facilities, maintain offices and hold youth football camps.

The following students will receive scholarships and be recognized at tonight’s game: Taylor Booker-Godfrey, a graduate of Poly High School, will attend University of Maryland College Park with aspirations of becoming a pediatrician. Destiny Brown, a graduate of Baltimore School for the Arts, will attend New York University with plans to study theatre arts in the fall of 2019. Travell Gardner, a graduate of Baltimore City College, will attend Lehigh University. Aneeka Niyas, a graduate of Western High School will attend Towson University to pursue a career in medicine. Flor Santos, a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, will attend Towson University in the fall of 2019.
