My Most Unforgettable Project Admirable Trash

Title: Admirable Trash Format: Ceramic Size/ dimensions: 30cm x 30 cm x 30cm each, Flexible size Purpose of the project: Doing a reflect on the definition of “trash”. Intended target audience: Everyone

Description: Many people think useless things is equal to trash. Therefore, I got a thought of wanting to know the definition of trash. If I have an empty bottle, does it mean that it is a trash? So, I tried to use ceramic and made it as a crumpled paper. It’s providing a lead for people to think what is it. Is this a crumpled paper, a ceramic, a trash or an art piece?

Project Development Process At the beginning, I was inspired by conceptual art. I was quite stubborn in the past. I was doing obvious visual art, which was quite straight-forward. To me, I got in touch with conceptual art. “Fountain by Marcel Duchamp collasped my original thought of art. I wanted to bring this feeling and progress of feeling to people. Thus, I wanted to show off the beauty of trash and making people have a reflection about what are they looking at.

Personal insights During the project, I experienced a lot of the spirit of doing trials. At the beginning, I had no knowledge about ceramics. Later on, I tried to learn about the way to made it. In the project, my aim is to make a ceramic crumpled paper and I was doing a lot of trials so that I could make paper feeling. I had lot of inspiration at that time. Especially about the texture, I had to investigate a way to make ceramic like a paper. I started to investigate the promotion of water and materials and the ability of the material can be.

My Self-Branding Project Bamboo Craft House

Title: Bamboo Craft House Format: Branding Project Size/ dimensions: Flexible size Purpose of the project: Exploring the form of bamboo Promoting using more bamboo as a material, which is growing quickly

Intended target audience: Everyone Description: Bamboo is a traditional, flexible and environmentally-friendly material. In this project, I tried to demonstrate opening a Bamboo Crafting House, which is teaching people how to make bamboo crafts. Through the project, I have experience the intelligence of this material. The texture of bamboo is smooth but it can afford things. Also, every product is irreplaceable. It’s a long way to investigate this material.

Personal insights In this project, I went on street and collect some bamboo that was thrown after construction. I had to cut and woven bamboo. I feel it’s very interesting! I have to tried the way to force and bend. It’s very difficult at the beginning. Later, I found its like having a communication with the material. I straightly bend them when I don’t have any idea of the method. After went online and watched some tutorial about bamboo, I knew I have to put them in water and keep them wet. Also, I found that the texture of bamboo is also attractive for me. There are still many properties of bamboo are waiting for my exploring.

My Illustration book - Snail

Title: Snail Format: Illustration Story Book Size/ dimensions: 22cm x 15 cm x 1 cm Year of Creation: 2016

Idea & Story

The world is still having many discrimination. In the story, I take a black snail as a metaphor. Black snail is a heterogeneity because non of the snail in the community is black. The black snail is so inferior and close up the heart. Actually, in our life, so many “labels" are put on different people. Sometimes, we are not able to stop those people, but there will always somebody knows us. Hope people cheer up themselves.

New Skill Explore

This project leads me to investigate the ability. Use a piece of paper to form a 3D graphic, the way the book open and the method to make some interaction between story and the reader are all new try for myself. And the key is to make dummy.

My Photo - Beautiflow

Title: Beautiflow Format: Photography Size/ dimensions: A4 Year of Creation: 2016 I love to look for the beauty in my life. One of my favourite hobby is to take photos. I think Hongkongers always said that they are living in concrete forest and looking for greens.

However, I actually found quite a lot beautiful plants in the public parks. Through the photos, I want to tell people those beautiful plants may not need to hike and take a long traffic time to be. It’s all around us and just depending on how you observe.
