Testing our products for durability
We continuously engage with our customers to meet and exceed their needs and expectations, providing a strong and relevant offering with the best combination of quality, price and sustainability. All our products and independently tested for their quality, colour, shrinkage, durability and functionality
Designing for Longevity
We are confident that our products can stand the test of time, we include innovative design details that can increase the garment lifecycle:
Room to grow hems
Our new boy’s trousers come with ‘Room to Grow’ hems that allow customers to get ahead of growth spurts and add an extra 3cm length to their existing trousers
Adjustable waists
Our junior trousers and skirts are designed with an elasticated back waist, ensuring comfort for growing bodies. Meanwhile, our senior trousers and skirts are designed with an adjustable back waist to ensure the perfect fit.
Pass me on
As of 2023 production, all our Blazers and Jackets will include a ‘Pass me on’ label with space to write multiple names. This encourages customers to pass on their garment once they have outgrown it.
Despite our efforts to lessen our environmental impact when producing our products, the consumer phase is generally recognised as having the greatest footprint in the clothing lifecycle. Therefore, once our garments arrive with customers, it’s important that we inform them of how they can take the best care of our garments. One area we focus on is washing garments at lower temperatures.
Teflon EcoElite™
To apply more sustainable finishes to our products, we use Teflon EcoElite™ on our boy’s trousers and the majority of our girls-wear products. Teflon EcoElite™ is a highly sustainable, renewably sourced, non-fluorinated, water-repellent treatment for fabrics. This finish does not contain any PFAS substances.
PFAS (polyfluoroalkyl substances) also known as ‘Forever Chemicals’ that are linked to harmful health effects are not found in any of our own products.
None of our mills or fully vertical suppliers use PFAS substances. We require all suppliers to sign and commit to following British/EU guidelines to ensure that all products are free from any harmful substances.
OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100
If a textile article carries the STANDARD 100 label, you can be certain that every component of this article, i.e., every thread, button, and other accessories, has been tested for harmful substances and that the product therefore is harmless for human health.
We are continuing to work on applying the OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 across our range. The following products are already certified to this standard.
Using customer insights, we’ve created a unique range of styles and choices designed to inspire and engage every type of school.
