Get your Jaguars season tickets via payroll deduction Baptist Health team members have the opportunity to purchase Jacksonville Jaguars season tickets and payroll deduct the cost beginning with the May 29 paycheck and finishing with the Dec. 24 paycheck. Your season tickets will include benefits such as JAGS365 membership events, Jaguars rewards and Teal Deals, worth more than $3,000 in savings. This is the lowest price available for season tickets! Just follow the steps: 1. Go to the Discounts page in the Employee Experience section of the intranet to review the Baptist Health special season-tickets pricing map. If you are renewing your season tickets and want to use payroll deduction, check the renewal deadline on your invoice. 2. Call Brad Fain at the Jaguars ticket sales office at 904.633.6534. Identify yourself as a Baptist Health employee and mention the offer code: “BAPTIST.” You will need to provide your name, employee ID number and the seating area you want to purchase. The Jaguars will create an account and assign your Jaguars ID, which you need to complete the transaction. 3. Download the payroll deduction authorization form from the Discounts page in Employee Experience section of the intranet. After completing the form, send it to the Baptist Health Payroll Department, Howard Bldg., Suite 414. The form must be received by May 1. Payments will begin with the May 29 paycheck and continue for 16 payments. Remember, the deadline to complete these steps is May 1 at 5 pm. Relational Coordination RN Survey Registered nurses are invited to participate in a research study designed to explore how health care teams communicate and relate to each other while caring for patients. The Relational Coordination RN Survey will be conducted April 2 – 23. Nurses will receive the survey electronically at their Baptist Health email address. The survey should take about 20 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary and will not affect your employment. The principal investigator is Fanya DeJesus, MBA, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, Baptist South, who is conducting research for her PhD degree in nursing through the University of Central Florida. Magnet™ Poster Contest deadline is Friday, May 1 Team members are invited to express how they display Magnet in their work areas by submitting entries to the Magnet poster contest. Winning posters will be displayed in our facilities, on the intranet and during our next Magnet site visit. You can submit entries individually or as groups, and you may submit multiple entries. Judging will take place during Nurses Week and Health Care Week in May. For contest rules and more information, visit the “We are Magnet” section of the intranet.

Spirit of Magnet™ Physician Award nominations April 15 is the deadline to submit nominations for the Spirit of Magnet Physician Award. Any clinical, nonphysician staff member may nominate any active physician. Nominations must be made online and may NOT be made anonymously. The nomination form is available in the Highlights section of the intranet. All physicians nominated will be notified and are invited guests at the Spirit of Magnet Celebration on June 11, when winners from each hospital, Home Health Care and our physician practices will be announced. Winners will also be featured in the July issue of Care Connection.

New Wolfson Wellness Center hours – In response to team member requests, the Wolfson Wellness Center has changed its hours of operation for a trial period of approximately six months. The center now opens at 5 am, Monday through Friday. Staff is monitoring utilization to determine long-term hours of operation. Food options during Rainbow Café renovation The Rainbow Café will reopen in July with a new name and some exciting enhancements for team members and visitors. During renovation, these food service options available to you. n

The Jazzman’s Coffee Bar has temporarily relocated to the area adjacent to Financial Services on the first floor of Baptist Jacksonville. A limited menu of select baked goods, grab-and-go salads, sandwiches, packaged snacks and sodas are offered Monday – Friday, 7 am – 10 pm.

The Tower 8 Cafeteria has extended its hours and will be open Monday – Friday, from 6 am – 2 am, and Saturday – Sunday, from 7 am – 2 am.

The Heart Hospital Jazzman’s is open Monday – Friday, from 7 am – 3 pm, and offers the full complement of Jazzman’s items.

Baptist Beaches

New Stroke Support Group The first meeting of the Baptist Beaches Stroke Support Group is scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, from 5:30 – 6:30 pm, in Conference Room A of Baptist Beaches Medical Center. It will include a discussion with Casey Carrigan, MD, director of the Baptist Beaches Stroke Center, who will share insights and advice on the road to recovery after a stroke. The Stroke Support Group is free, open to the public, and RSVP is not required.

Congratulations Sharon Burke and Miranda Miller Sharon Burke, RN, has graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Burke previously obtained her associate degree in nursing from Florida Community College Jacksonville in 1991. She worked in Oncology for 12 years and the GE Lab for 12 years and now works in AAU/ICU. Miranda Miller, RN, passed her state nursing boards in February. She has worked an associate care provider at Baptist Nassau since November 2012 and currently works in the ICU. In December 2014, she graduated from Florida State College Jacksonville with her associate degree in nursing.

Wolfson Children’s Hospital

March is Child Life Month Child life specialists are child development experts who work to ensure that life remains as normal as possible for children in health care settings and other challenging environments. They promote effective coping through play, self-expression activities and age-appropriate medical preparation and education. As advocates of family-centered care, child life specialists work in partnership with the interdisciplinary team to meet the unique emotional, developmental and cultural needs of each child and family. Their contributions as part of the health care team at Wolfson Children’s Hospital are invaluable.
