New Password Requirements Affect All Employees To improve the information security of Baptist Health and our patients’ information, stronger password requirements for all users went into effect January 8. Password This means the next time you change your password, it will need to be at least eight characters in length. Passwords must also include upper case, lower case and numeric characters. All users are encouraged to change their passwords at their convenience this month. Beginning February 4, users who have not updated their passwords will be forced to change it when they log in. Revitalize Your Self Care in 2014 Baptist Health, in partnership with HeartMath and the Watson Caring Science Institute, offers employees an exciting and effective Revitalizing Care program for stress management. All Employees Must Complete Rapid Regs by January 31 How to Access Rapid Regs in eLearning at work Most employees on the network will no longer need to log into eLearning separately. Simply click the eLearning link and go straight to your My Learning page, where you will find the Rapid Regs course under your Assigned Learning tab. This includes Tap In/Tap Out users. The only exception is employees who use LSID shared work stations that do not have Tap In/Tap Out technology. These employees will log into eLearning using the same network user ID and password used for Cerner and Outlook email. How to Access Rapid Regs in eLearning from home To access Rapid Regs in eLearning from home, go to www.MyBHhome.com and log into the intranet with your network credentials. Then click on eLearning and go straight to your My Learning page where you will find Rapid Regs under your Assigned Learning tab.

Healthy For Life presents this fun eight-week weight management contest designed to begin the new year with a new you. During this friendly competition, employees will compete to fight obesity and control their weight. Employees will be challenged to STOP (maintain current weight) or DROP (lose 8 pounds). This challenge is open to ALL Baptist Health employees. As part of the contest, 20 prize-drawing winners will receive $50 cash.

January is National Mentoring Month “Be someone who matters to someone who matters.” Tipping the Scale at Baptist Health is a nationally recognized adolescent advocacy and intervention mentoring program. We are looking for Baptist Health employees to become mentors to high school teens in our community. This site-based program allows employees to meet with their matched mentees at the Baptist Jacksonville campus every other Tuesday for 11/2 hours to guide students toward reaching their full potential, leading to high school graduation and fulfillment of their future goals. Dependent Care Audit for Baptist Health Medical Plans This month, Baptist Health is conducting eligibility audits of all dependents on our medical plans. Even if you have participated in dependent care audits in the past, you must respond to the information mailed to your home address again this year in order for your dependents to continue to be eligible for coverage on your medical plan. Thank you for helping Baptist Health preserve our valuable employee and family health benefits.

Nassau Employees Earn Degrees and Certifications Congratulations to our nurses who graduated with their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees in December. Laurel Anderson, Operating Room, and Cheryl Elam, Medical/Surgical Department, graduated from Jacksonville University, and Jennifer Mertiff, Operating Room, graduated from Chamberlain College. Kudos also go to Georgia McQuaig, Operating Room, who passed her Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) exam in November.

Baptist South Tools to Quit Smoking Baptist South is proud to announce that we are continuing our partnership with the Florida Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) for a six-week program for those interested in kicking the habit. The class, which is free to employees and the community, covers all forms of tobacco. Participants are eligible to receive free nicotine patches, lozenges or gum. Hurry now to register. Wolfson Children’s Hospital Annual Autism Symposium is March 12 The Sixth Annual Autism Symposium, “Current Medical Evidence and Interventions Regarding Autism,” will be held Wednesday, March 12, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, at the UNF University Center. It will feature two nationally known speakers from the Marcus Autism Center, an affiliate of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta that treats approximately 5,000 children a year and is recognized as an Autism Center of Excellence by the National Institutes of Health. • Celine Saulnier, PhD, is clinical director of research at the Marcus Autism Center and assistant professor, Division of Autism and Related Disorders, Department of Pediatrics, Emory University School of Medicine. • William Sharp, PhD, is director of the Pediatric Feeding Disorders Program at the Marcus Autism Center, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and assistant professor, Division of Autism and Related Disorders, Department of Pediatrics, Emory University School of Medicine.
