Healthy For Life Screenings

There are only a few dates available in November for employees to complete their Healthy For Life Screenings, which are required to obtain your 2014 insurance discount premium. You must have an appointment for your screening and you need to complete the personal health assessment (PHA) prior to coming to the screening. For more information, visit the Healthy For Life section of the intranet.

The Flu Ends With You!

The Employee Health offices at all Baptist Health campuses are now offering the annual flu vaccine FREE of charge to employees, volunteers and licensed independent practitioners. Flu shots are available during all Healthy For Life annual screenings. This includes a fast track flu shot line for PRN employees, non-benefit eligible part-time employees and benefits eligible employees who are not enrolled in our Baptist Health insurance. No appointment is necessary for the fast-track line. Check the employee intranet for the screening schedule. Any employee who declines the influenza vaccine will be required to wear a mask while in patient care areas beginning Monday, December 2, until the end of the flu season. Employees who receive the flu shot at Baptist Health, or provide documentation to the Employee Health Office showing that they have received the flu shot elsewhere, will receive a sticker to place on their badges to indicate that they do not need to wear a mask while in patient care areas.

Caring Communication Video Now Available in eLearning

Caring Communication is a new video series, produced by the System Patient Experience Steering Committee, to share communication strategies and techniques that can help reduce patient anxiety as well as stress levels for staff. The first Caring Communication video is now available for viewing in eLearning. All employees are encouraged to watch the video. Managers will facilitate team discussions during regularly scheduled staff meetings between now and December 20. Tips for Viewing the Caring Communication video • If the email link you received does not work, please log in to eLearning and search for the course using key words “Caring Communication.” • If you see a black window when attempting to play the video, it is probably a problem with your Flash player application. Please call the Help Desk to see if an updated version of the Flash player can be installed on your computer. • If you do not have speakers or you prefer to use the Closed Caption feature, it can be turned on by waving the cursor over top left corner of video and clicking the “CC” button when it appears.

Please Specify Adult or Pediatric If Calling a Code Green

Baptist Health has a new Code Green policy to assist people who are either outpatients or nonpatients and in need of medical assistance while on our campuses. If you need to report a Code Green, please remember to specify if it is an adult or pediatric code so that the appropriate Emergency Department staff responds. This is especially important for the Baptist Jacksonville campus. For a list of specific areas that are included and excluded from the Code Green policy for your campus, review policy No. 7.04.07 in Compliance 360. Policy and Procedures are available on the Apps & Tools page on the employee intranet.
