Try New Bar Code Technology at Device Fairs

Jaguars Tickets Discounts Continue for Employees

To provide bedside clinicians the opportunity to evaluate two handheld scanners, device fairs have been scheduled at each hospital now through the end of September. Schedules can be found on the Employee Intranet. We hope you’ll participate!

With each ticket purchased, you will receive a free food voucher for a soft drink, hot dog and popcorn. Order tickets online at www.jaguars.com/baptist

To enhance patient safety, bar code technology is being evaluated for medication administration at Baptist. Bar code scanners would allow clinicians to scan the patient’s ID band, then the medication could be reconciled with the physician order in the EMR.

IT Enhancements on the Way

Several new initiatives will enhance the customer experience and provide better management of our Information Technology resources at Baptist Health: Upgraded Outlook Email System We’re upgrading our email system to Microsoft Exchange 2010 to improve availability and decrease downtime. The upgrade will include enhanced web-based email access. Migration will occur in stages, and users will be notified via email prior to migration of their mailbox to the new system. Users can expect minimal if any interruption of service while the migration is occurring. New Asset Management Tracking System To improve network security and better manage our resources, a new IT Asset Management Tracking System called Altiris will replace the current Novell system in the coming months. Changes to the desktop appearance and login screen will be minimal. Migration to Altiris will occur on a departmental basis and your department will be notified prior to the move, so that you can know when the changes will occur on your computer.

Baptist Health employees can purchase Jacksonville Jaguars individual-game tickets at a discount of up to $20 per ticket off the game-day price. You can also order the Baptist Health 3-Game Value Pack for a savings of up to $75 per pack. (Tickets for all three games must be purchased on the same order.)

When ordering, you will need to provide your Baptist ID number. A Jaguars representative will then contact you to collect payment information and process your order. A print-friendly version of the ticket order form can also be found on the Employee Intranet.
