WELCOME CATTLE ENTHUSIASTS! MARKETING

It is with great excitement and anticipation that we welcome you to the very first Multi Breed Female Sale at the 2023 Illinois Beef Expo. As our industry continues to change and develop, our methods of marketing must do the same. Through multiple discussions with the IBE Committee and the IBA, we unanimously reached the verdict that an all-inclusive “Multi Breed” female sale should be started to cater more to the demands of today’s consumer. We look forward to working directly with the Performance Tested Bull Sale on Thursday and The Collection genetic sale on Saturday evening to help preserve the reputation of the Illinois Beef Expo as a distinguished event for both marketing and exhibiting some of the nations’ most elite cattle. Looking ahead, we are excited to forecast the future development of this sale and the impact it can have on continuing that very notable legacy.

We want to take the time to personally thank each and every consignor in this sale who stepped up to the plate when called upon. It is not easy to take a chance on a new venture. It is not easy to be a leader. It is not easy to start something new from scratch. However, this group of consignors not only took on the challenge, but have done so head first and with full force. The offering they have assembled in this catalog is no doubt packed with future champions, breed leading donors, and genetic gems that we are 100% confident will go on to have unlimited dollar generating potential for their new owners.

We are proud to have 6 different breeds represented in this inaugural sale, along with 1 very special lot to start the event with. As you all know, the cattle industry lost another great one recently. Someone who was not only respected for his immense knowledge, skillset, and ability to evaluate cattle, but more importantly, a man we should all strive to be more like in our day to day lives. Stan Tarr was a leader, he was a constant advocate for youth, he was a dedicated family man who treated everyone the way he wanted to be treated. He was a man that stood up for what was right, believed in the words he spoke, and a man whose handshake was his bond. Stan was a great friend of ours, and no doubt many of you. He will indeed be missed greatly. A huge thank you to Jered Shipman and family (Shipwreck Cattle Co) and John Sandidge and family (Bar QH Simmentals) for standing tall and offering a flush on the great FC Annie K F892 in Stan’s memory. F892 is a female raised by Stan and the Fox Creek Nation who sold right here at this very expo. Shipwreck and Bar QH invested in this powerful female that day and she has since been working her way up the ranks to the top of the donor battery for these two distinguished programs. They are graciously offering the right to aspirate FC Annie K F892 to the bull of the buyer’s choice with 100% of the proceeds going to the Stan Tarr family and the Memorial of their choosing. Please do not hesitate to contact Jered, John, or Haefner Marketing for more details or to get involved on this unique opportunity.
