WELCOME CATTLE ENTHUSIASTS! MARKETING
It is with great excitement and anticipation that we welcome you to the very first Multi Breed Female Sale at the 2023 Illinois Beef Expo. As our industry continues to change and develop, our methods of marketing must do the same. Through multiple discussions with the IBE Committee and the IBA, we unanimously reached the verdict that an all-inclusive “Multi Breed” female sale should be started to cater more to the demands of today’s consumer. We look forward to working directly with the Performance Tested Bull Sale on Thursday and The Collection genetic sale on Saturday evening to help preserve the reputation of the Illinois Beef Expo as a distinguished event for both marketing and exhibiting some of the nations’ most elite cattle. Looking ahead, we are excited to forecast the future development of this sale and the impact it can have on continuing that very notable legacy.
We want to take the time to personally thank each and every consignor in this sale who stepped up to the plate when called upon. It is not easy to take a chance on a new venture. It is not easy to be a leader. It is not easy to start something new from scratch. However, this group of consignors not only took on the challenge, but have done so head first and with full force. The offering they have assembled in this catalog is no doubt packed with future champions, breed leading donors, and genetic gems that we are 100% confident will go on to have unlimited dollar generating potential for their new owners.
We are proud to have 6 different breeds represented in this inaugural sale, along with 1 very special lot to start the event with. As you all know, the cattle industry lost another great one recently. Someone who was not only respected for his immense knowledge, skillset, and ability to evaluate cattle, but more importantly, a man we should all strive to be more like in our day to day lives. Stan Tarr was a leader, he was a constant advocate for youth, he was a dedicated family man who treated everyone the way he wanted to be treated. He was a man that stood up for what was right, believed in the words he spoke, and a man whose handshake was his bond. Stan was a great friend of ours, and no doubt many of you. He will indeed be missed greatly. A huge thank you to Jered Shipman and family (Shipwreck Cattle Co) and John Sandidge and family (Bar QH Simmentals) for standing tall and offering a flush on the great FC Annie K F892 in Stan’s memory. F892 is a female raised by Stan and the Fox Creek Nation who sold right here at this very expo. Shipwreck and Bar QH invested in this powerful female that day and she has since been working her way up the ranks to the top of the donor battery for these two distinguished programs. They are graciously offering the right to aspirate FC Annie K F892 to the bull of the buyer’s choice with 100% of the proceeds going to the Stan Tarr family and the Memorial of their choosing. Please do not hesitate to contact Jered, John, or Haefner Marketing for more details or to get involved on this unique opportunity.
Make plans now to attend the sale Friday, February 24th at 2pm in the Artisans Building on the Illinois State Fairgrounds. If you can not be in attendance, please contact any of the sale day contacts on the following page for their assistance at no cost to you. The sale will also be broadcast for viewing and bidding on CCiLive.tv and videos of all lots selling can be found there as well. This offering of females will be stalled and available for viewing all day Thursday and Friday until the sale in barn 25N. Please reach out to any of the consignors or Haefner Marketing if we can be of assistance in any way. Thank you for taking the time to look, hope you enjoy!

Life deals us with many unexpected turns, closed doors, and missed opportunities, but there are as many, if not more, straight roads, open doors, and ceased opportunities that lead us to success, happiness, and contentment. The Illinois Livestock Family and the Simmental Family were handed one of those unexpected twists and turns with the loss of the great Stan Tarr. Stan had a tremendous passion for the livestock industry, SimGenetic cattle, production agriculture, and youth livestock programs. As we all know, his deepest love was for Jennifer, Emerson, Jasper, and his extended family. I looked at him as the family spokesperson, a top shelf example prototype as a father, and an industry icon. His family leadership and volunteer leadership roles throughout his life were positively infectious amongst those that were privileged to be in those circles. As a Simmental and livestock enthusiast, Stan Tarr will always be regarded as an icon and one of the biggest champions for general agriculture in my circle and lifetime. Stan, thank you for all that you have done in your short time on the soil you loved, and we all know that you are watching over your family, friends, and fellow agriculturalists from up above. Stan purchased these embryos from us years ago. He gave a dollar figure that was noted as high for the times, but he had a great admiration for the dam of F892. ACW Annie K 330Y is the 2014 National Champion Percentage Female, the same year that W/C Angel 2870Z was crowned National Champion Purebred Female. 330Y was an incredible direct daughter of Lock n Load from a dominant Canadian Angus cow family bred in the Remington program. As one can tell from her photo, her presence was undeniable in terms of quality, build, and substance. She set down a big foot with a deep heel as she glided in motion. A female with the skeletal width and muscle shape she possessed wasn’t supposed to move as good as she did especially with the significant amount of center body shape that she had. Annie K 330Y documented the fundamentals of udder quality with ideal teat size and placement and matched it with textbook balance. 330Y was truly a female that anyone could build a program around as her positive traits were highly heritable as one analyzes basic production on her daughters and granddaughters. When John Sandidge and I acquired F892, we both agreed to see what she could do in production for three or four years before we would move forward with IVF. I personally have a maternal sister by JSSC Wide Body that we have highlighted our program with known as SWC HOC Annie K 214C. 214C is very fundamentally sound and productive. We have sold offspring from $4500 to $30000 with both sexes extremely easy to market. F892 is very elegant and high tying in her front third, strong in her transitions from blade to spine, spine to hip with a high and big pin set. She is long and deep in her rib, sets down on more than enough bone with her mother’s awesome foot and has an udder that will rival her dam’s. As we begin to work her more heavily in the donor rotation, anxiety builds to see just how high F892 can raise the bar. Folks, John and I realize that we don’t have the perfect donor photo or the show road profile established on this female just yet. When Stan went to better places, we both felt that this was something that needed to be offered, something that he raised, something that he had the faith to invest in, and something that represented an item of greatness that Stan performed. Rest assured that John and I will do everything possible to make this as rewarding of an experience as every human interaction was with Stan involved. We leave it up to Stan’s family’s wishes to place the funds generated from this lot where they deem it most suitable in his memory. Selling the right to aspirate FC Annie K F892 to the sire of sires of your choice. We will guarantee 6 transferable embryos with an open top.

When Ryan had called us and asked us if we would be interested in putting cattle in the multi-breed sale at the IL Beef Expo, it was somewhat of a no brainer for us. We thought HPF Alley 397E would be a great fit. A young cow in the prime of her life. One that has proven herself time and time again. She has had countless high sellers for us as fall calves and even in the bred division. Her highlights in her career include a $17,500 half-blood female by 24 Karat that sold to Circle M Farms last spring and then having the top bred heifer at our production sale here in Harrisburg and going to Ron Giliand of California. 397E is female that is structurally correct from every angle. One that has extreme foot and bone. One that we love the length of spine and overall design. One that we feel that has her whole life ahead of her. Along with her we are going to offer two fall heifer calves; one red star headed female that is sired by Hill Big Order that we have used extensively in our program that has somewhat put us on the map of selling these red headed high quality cattle with that extra look and design, and structural integrity. This red female in my eyes is

probably one of the most unique females to date that we will offer at public auction. One that you love for her overall design and her elegance in her front one-third. She has added look, hair, foot, bone, and the overall structure to make a big time female. As we talk about the black Copacetic daughter, one that you just love for the front 1/3 design of her body, one that gives you that added look. She has a ton of spring of rib and is extremely square on all four corners. We feel that she has a lot of potential as she matures and goes down the road. As we talk about the donor, one that has a lot of upside, not only to her quality, but to her pedigree. These Relentless daughters are continuing to bring in the purple across the nation. They are known for their look, design, quality, and giving that elite look we all want for the show ring. We could write a book on what Alley 247Y has done in her past. A cow that to this day is still putting an impact on many programs across the US. Quite the trio of females offered by Bramlet Simmentals with endless potential across the board in the donor and fall heifer calf divisions. Ones that you want to be tied to, not behind. What a set of wonderful females offered Feb 24 at 2pm. Be sure to come check out these females in person.

NXT Hotlist J116
A great combination in NXT Hotlist J116….power, look, pedigree, well-mated. Terrific opportunity here with this May-born 1/2 blood bred heifer by the popular PVF Blacklist 7077 and our Hot Dam donor, a well-proven generator of fault-free, good cattle. In fact, four daughters by four different sires have made the Top 20 at AJSA Jr. National bred and owned shows – most recently the Reserve Grand (by High Regard) at the 2020 Jr. National. Hotlist herself brings three-dimensional power in a big-topped, big-ribbed, wide-pinned package and yet is still deep-sided, well-balanced, up-headed and long-fronted. Additionally, she moves out long and stout with correctness of structure built for the long haul. Mated up a bit to the popular LKCC Bold Venture 194F Simmental bull, her 3/4 Simmental calf due 3/23/23 will be an asset to any operation.

When you unload this heifer at any show, just as her name entails, everyone is going to know the party has arrived. This heifer is soft made, reaches out, flexes and is crazy good footed on all four corners of her foundation. She’s massive ribbed, wide in her pin set and stout enough to play kickball with the boys and not get picked last. I think this one will show anywhere. Her pedigree backs the facts, the top side speaks for itself and then there’s the mother of a triple crown winner on the bottom. Seller retains 1 flush at seller’s expense and buyer’s convenience.

Her dam was grand champion B&O at Jr. Nationals, her grandam is the legendary Madonna cow of the Richie family, and a full sister was successfully campaigned by the Lemenager family. She’s truly unique in her throat latch and neck extension, yet still possesses the bold rib shape and long muscle pattern it takes to be a dominant show heifer. This heifer is going to pull at your heartstrings the moment you see her. She’s got a face that will make any cow jealous and all that follows that will have you head over heels for sure. She is super long necked and spined, along with a punch of frame, growth and power that so many cattle today lack. She’s big boned, big middled and big backed. This one is going to piss off a lot of fellow fair goers for her new owner, then pay them back tenfold when she is out into production. 210K & 217K – When deciding matings for Sophie 14C, MR CCF 20-20 was at the top of our list. We knew the heifers would be exceptional in their build, sound at the ground, and carry many maternal traits that we desire without sacrificing any look or eye appeal. 210K is sharp featured and beautiful in her design. She carries a little more mass and bone over her younger sister. She’s extra good haired like her mother and bound to pave her own way in anyone’s program just as 14C has done for us and continues to do. Now is the time to tie into a direct daughter of the deceased MR CCF 20 20. 217K, or “Baby Donor” as we like to call her, breaks the mold in terms of having such an elegant and lady-like front 1/3 but still expresses an explosive amount of depth and boldness of rib. She checks all the boxes with an out of this world look and balances up very well from end to end. She’s all the hype and will be fun to play with in that summer division. Study your lesson closely here, we believe these 2 females carry the genetics and phenotype that will satisfy even the most critical evaluator.

Directly out of the 2017 National Western Champion Bull TCCS Saint Christopher and the proven PF Miss Wind cow, this female screams donor power. Being full of power and mass, and standing on an impeccable set of feet and legs, this female speaks for herself. Not only does this cow look the part, but she has surely proven it. To this point her heifers have averaged $6000 and a bull is retained in the herd. A donor still in her prime, who averages 7 good IVF embryos per cycle and not looking to stop anytime soon, this female has what it takes. The limits for this one are endless! Sells Open ready to flush!

You don’t have to look hard to find purple written all over this fancy fall baby. Whether you notice her pedigree that is stacked with multiple National Show winners or you study her striking appearance and beautiful phenotype, this heifer has IT! Don’t miss this opportunity!

All I have to say is, if you want to make money, you better look in here. This Contender heifer will make it happen in the pasture just like her mother does. Her dam was named Grand Champion Polled Hereford in both the Jr and Open shows at the Illinois State Fair back in 2019. If you like good structured cattle, you better look hard at this one.
