Exercise 1: A Vocabulary & A Grammar Exercise 1.1
Explore the concept of form and design three 4.5”x4.5” cubes, each with a different architecture concept and material: line (basswood), plane (chip board), and mass (insulating foam). Reflect the assigned idea of “overlap.”
Exercise 1.2
Incorporate all ideas from the smaller cubes and design a 9”x9” cube. Drawings: floor plan, section unfolded elevation Transitioning from my smaller studies to the larger cube model, I continued the basswood stick model of triangles. These triangles create a space while linking mass and plane.

Exercise 2: Scale, Movement & Context Exercise 2.1
Observe, experience and draw the Carnegie Library at Syracuse University. Drawings (plan, section and elevation) use the human body as measurement scale. Collaborators: Emily Hu, Jasmine Greytok, Patrick Riley.
Exercise 2.2
Individually create a model based on the learnings from the studies and drawings, I designed a pavilion with triangles to create pods of space with a spiraling circulation.

Exercise 3: Learning to Learn From Architecture The Glass House, 1950 Lina Bo Bardi Incorporating learnings from previous exercises, analyze concepts of a significant architecture structure and create drawings (including axonometric), diagrams, and models highlighting its key aspects. My drawings study private vs. public space, materiality, light, and site plan.

Exercise 4: Design as Synthesis Within a specified site in an artist colony, design a house that integrates a living space, working space and exhibit space in a single building for an artist. Assigned artist: Media Arts, specifically computergenerated imagery (CGI) and Motion Capture (mo-cap). Similar to mo-cap, or the process of recording motion in objects or people, my building’s triangular form acts like a “suit or armor.” However, parts of my building remain visible to capture the “body” and “suit” working together. My studies include drawings, circulation models, sectional models, and final model.
