Chaim Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer
The 360° Oncology Care program at the Chaim Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer was initiated as a pilot research initiative, evaluating outcomes such as improving quality-of-life parameters and reducing healthcare expenditures. The pilot will serve as a model for oncology centers, both in Israel as well as worldwide.
Changing the Face of Oncology Care
After losing my beloved sister to cancer at such a young age, I asked myself what I could do to make battling cancer an easier and kinder experience for other patients. My studio’s work on the 360° Oncology Care project is in her loving memory. Yehuda Resnikov, CEO & Creative Director, RAZ Group Design I do not often get the opportunity to help communicate the message of a project that advances such an important cause. As a two-time breast cancer survivor, I know too well how vital this pilot is, and how much it can change Israel’s healthcare landscape for the better. The day a patient receives the news that they have cancer is a day he or she will never forget. It ushers in a period of fear, tension, confusion and stress. We cannot make these emotions go away. However, as healthcare providers, we can help let patients know that they are not alone on this difficult journey; that they are in good
hands from Day One. We will embrace them in a multidisciplinary environment of caring and kindness, with total access to all
the ancillary services which they may need. Today’s fragmented oncology care models are being stretched to their limits by an ever-increasing number of new patients, skyrocketing costs, and limited resources. Beyond acute medical therapies, too many patients do not have access to equally important emotional, financial and other ancillary services. At the 360° Oncology Care program, patients will receive not only state-of-the-art medical care by the world-renowned medical staff at Israel’s largest medical and cancer center. They will also have their emotional, financial and bureaucratic needs addressed by a supportive team of professionals. Their worries are our worries as well. There is a true need for a new
360° approach in the care of the oncology
patient care, integrating all of these services into a patient-centered model. To heal; to support; to ease the pain and suffering; while at the same time ensuring the highest quality of life possible for each and every patient.

The Tal Center was founded in memory of Tal Yacobson (1983-2009) in order to create change through the application of compassion and wisdom in the way cancer is treated and prevented. Tal Yakobson left this world when she was 26 years old. She never stopped reaching out to the weak, to the human beings, to animals and to our environment. She was a vibrant student of Chinese and alternative medicine, an artist and activist. Tal left us with three commandments love, truth and compassion.
