This excellent tour includes a journey on the awesome Bernina Express railway from Filisur high into the Alps and past lakes and glaciers to Tirano in Italy. We are based in Davos, a high-altitude health resort of long tradition and great shopping. We have included a Davos Pass which gives you free access to the local transport network including the mountain railway and cable cars! The route to resort takes us through mountains with views of lakes. On one night in resort, we are treated to a Swiss farmer’s buffet dinner.

Sunday Through France to Switzerland and we pass Basel and Zurich, with views of its famous lake, on our way to our hotel for five nights where we’re met with a welcome drink.

Days whilst at resort

A | A free day to explore Davos and use your Davos Pass. The hotel will organize a ride on the Schatzalp Funicular Railway for great views from 1861m above sea level. B | A superb circular tour today with stops in Klosters and Chur. Klosters is the winter holiday destination of the royal family and Chur is a charming, historic town with cobbled streets, secret courtyards, and a large cathedral. Great scenery all day but especially on our return from Chur as we travel via Thusis and over the Alpine pass to Frauenkirch. C | We board the Bernina Express Railway for the fantastic journey through the mountains to Italy. Enjoy the lakes, gorges, glaciers, loops and tunnels that make this one of Europe’s greatest train journeys. Our coach meets us in Tirano and returns us to our hotel over the Bernina Pass. D | We visit St Moritz, an elegant and chic resort lying in the middle of a lake-dotted landscape. We return for more free time in Davos in the late afternoon. Friday We return to our overnight hotel. Saturday To Calais and home.
