Our base is Roses, on Spain’s rugged coast, overlooking Roses Bay and this location allows us to enjoy the very best of coast, country, and mountains. On four days we have a guide joining us for the day and we also have wine and water included with dinner each night in resort.

• Return coach travel • Channel crossings • Tours as indicated (including train rides and a boat ride) • Hotel accomodation of bed, breakfast and evening meal Sunday To Calais and we continue through France to our overnight hotel, the IBIS in Nuits Saint Georges. Monday We continue south into Spain and on to our hotel in the resort of Roses for seven nights where we’re met with a welcome drink. Tuesday A free morning to enjoy Roses before we join the Roses Little Town Train for a trip to the Cap de Creus National Park with wonderful views of wild coastline and vertiginous cliffs. Wednesday We have a guide on board today as we make an excursion to the historic town of Besalu. We have a ride around the town on a little train and we also have a boat trip on Lake Banyoles. Thursday A free day to explore Roses. Friday Into the Spanish Pyrenees and a wonderful trip through the Vall de Nùria with commentary by our on-board guide. Part of the return journey is made by train on the Val de Nùria Rack Railway where you will experience a world of sensations! The breath-taking beauty of the landscape is unmissable and can only be accessed by this train. We drop over 1000m in just 12.5km. Saturday A guide is again on board as we travel to Rivesaltes in France for a scenic journey on the Red Train to Axat in the mountains. Opened in 1908 to service the quarries, this train is now run solely for tourists as the views are so spectacular. On our return we make a stop in La Jonquera. Sunday We have a boat trip from Roses along the scenic coastline passing the Cap de Creus National Park coastline to Cadaques. Cadaques is a picturesque coastal town with a bohemian ambience and we’re met on our arrival for a walking tour. We return later to Roses by boat. Monday We return to our overnight hotel. Tuesday To Calais and home.

PLEASE NOTE: The standard price includes an inside cabin without a window. And if there are two of you in the room then one will be on a top bunk. If you would like 2x lower bunks or an outside cabin with a window, then this is available for a supplementary charge as shown.

We take the ferry to Northern Spain and enjoy Cantabria’s stunning coastline, range of historic villages & ports and the beautiful Picos de Europa Mountains. This year we stay at the Hotel Olimpo in the coastal village of Isla, in a stunning area of breathtaking beauty. The village has two beaches, and all rooms boast wonderful views of the sea, mountains, or surrounding area. Whilst at the hotel there is free water and house wine with evening meals and on the final evening we have a farewell dinner with seafood, wine and Porters Liquor!

PLEASE NOTE: Breakfast and evening meals are included in resort, but not on the ferry. Onboard there is a choice of three restaurants, a café, a self-service restaurant and an a la carte option.

Wednesday We journey to Plymouth and board the 12:15 Brittany Ferry for the twenty-one-hour crossing to Santander. We have included an inside cabin on board and there are restaurants, bars, a spa, Wi-Fi and even an outdoor pool, weather permitting. Thursday We arrive into Santander at 10:30 and make the short journey to our hotel in Isla where we’re met with a welcome drink and canapes.

Tours whilst in resort plus two free days to enjoy the resort

A | We travel to the world heritage mediaeval village of Santillana del Mar where most houses were built between the 14th and 18th centuries, and all can be explored by foot. Later we stop in Comillas, one of the most beautiful towns in Cantabria with cobbled streets, open squares and two beaches. B | A full day in the Picos De Europa Mountain Range. First, we make a stop in San Vincente de la Barquera, a picturesque town on the coast with the astonishing backdrop of the Picos de Europa. Then we follow the River Deva Valley up into the mountains and visit the town of Potes, a mediaeval town with traditional buildings, wooden balconies and surrounded by mountains. C | To the traditional fishing village of Castro Urdiales with its pretty harbour and attractive centre. Then on to Santona where we enjoy a boat tour of the pretty bay. D | We spend the day in Bilbao which has the renowned Guggenheim Museum. There is also a historic quarter with seven pedestrianised streets running perpendicular to the river. Thursday We make our way to Santander and board our ferry at 13:30 for the return journey. Again, an inside cabin is provided. Friday We arrive into Plymouth at 10:00 and make the journey home.
