APPRENTICE SEARCH STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE
BE JUSTLY PROUD
EMBRACE THE CHALLENGE
EXCEPTIONAL TOGETHER
As we celebrate 15 years of a thriving (and award winning) apprenticeship programme, Barr Group are delighted to launch their search for this year’s apprentice intake… individuals who we hope will become the organisations’ managers of the future.
We will be taking on (up to) four new apprentices who will specialise in either bricklaying, site carpentry or decorating. The Process: STAGE ONE: 1 ST FEBRUARY - 31 ST MAY
We invite applicants to tell us about themselves, in any way they like. The more innovative the better, don’t hold back! A video presentation, a written personal statement, examples of projects and work experiences... We want to know why you would like to embark on a Barr Build apprenticeship and what you would bring to the team. Please send applications to charlie.b@barr.group STAGE TWO: 1 ST JUNE - 30TH JUNE
Responses will be sent to all applicants. Interviews will be in the last two weeks of June (post exams).
STAGE THREE: JULY / AUGUST
The final stage candidates will then be asked to participate in an on-site trial. The successful candidates will be invited to join the Barr Build team as our new 2022 apprentice recruits.
Who are we looking for? We are looking for individuals who are determined, hardworking, reliable and ready for the world of work. You will need your own transport; apprentices could be based on any of our sites (usually within a 20 mile radius of Barr Group HQ in Thame).
What Does a Barr Group Apprenticeship Offer? A full-time position within the company, during which the apprentice gains hands on experience combined with structured learning. The goal of our two or three year apprenticeship programme is a Level 2 or Level 3 NVQ qualification as well as achieving the status of a valued skilled tradesperson within the organisation.
Programme structure: Four days a week working on-site. One day a week at college.
Barr Group Apprentices are supported by: A dedicated mentor (usually a site manager or an experienced skilled tradesperson). Open door support from the Barr Group Training and Apprenticeship Lead. A wider team who want you to succeed and are on hand to help.
What else: Company staff events including free Weekly HIT classes, bowling, go-karting, pub meet-ups and much more. A competitive apprentice employment package.
