FAFSA eligibility criteria
(FAFSA) is now open. Per the Illinois State Board of Education, the FAFSA has become a high school graduation requirement. Any student/family that does not plan on completing the FAFSA or the Alternative Application will need to “opt-out” by completing the FAFSA Non-Participation Form. • When completing the FAFSA, please reference the resources on this page in order to help you feel best prepared for completing your student’s FAFSA application. You will be using your 2020 income tax information for the 2022-2023 FAFSA. To learn more about this process, please review this information prior to getting started. • The Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid allows qualifying undocumented students and transgender students who are not otherwise eligible for federal financial aid to apply for Illinois Monetary Award Program (MAP) grants to attend eligible Illinois colleges, universities, and career education programs. • Students/families that will not be completing either the FAFSA or the Alternative Application will need to complete the
