Summer School ‘14 ‘Professional Voice’

“Welcome to Summer School 2014” Dear Colleague st

Find enclosed our portfolio of programmes for the 21 Annual RTU Summer School. Participation numbers have grown each year (rising to approximately 3000 last year) indicating the profession’s continuing thirst for learning and its inspirational commitment to doing the best for its pupils and young folk. This year the Summer School theme is ‘The Professional Voice’ and will be run over three days. Our aim for this year’s Summer School is to make a key contribution to the continuous professional development and capacity building agendas upon which successful school development and the raising of pupil’s achievement depends.

I am indebted to those colleagues across the education community and beyond who with great enthusiasm and energy seize the opportunity offered by Summer School to engage with teachers and other professionals in their unending pursuit of excellence.

Thank you for your continuing interest and support. Tom Hesketh (Dr) Director, RTU

This brochure is designed to give the reader a flavour of the portfolio on offer this year. For more information on Summer School and other events organised by the Regional Training Unit visit our website at
