Sustainable Agriculture: How the United States is Failing

Earth is 29% Land.

Of that 29% of land, about 71% of it is Habitable.

50% of habitable land is used for agriculture.

With 77% of agricultural land dedicated to livestock and dairy.

The United States is Ranked 21/34 in food sustainability.

Practice sustainability, be more mindful of your food. For a country as industrialized as the United States, the idea of being ranked 21 out of 34 in sustainable agriculture should be embarrassing. Especially when there are groups of people prepared to switch to sustainable food production. Where the United States could get a better yeild with less damage. Here are some things we can do! Č– Buy local produce, either from local butchers or farmers markets Č– Avoid buying in bulk unless necessary Č– Begin a small garden with some vegetables you regularly use, grow them according to the season
