This is the accompanying biographical sketch of my father that originally appeared in Paraphilia [which has disappeared into our collective amnesia]. It covers his growing up in the Netherlands, going through WW2, being plucked off the Amsterdam streets to work as a forced laborer in a Berlin armaments factory. His/our emigration to the US and a little about his search for a comfortable life that he only found a few years before his death from years of complications following a head on crash.
