Election Results Basics Co-op Board of Directors Congratulations to S.A. Welch, the newest member of the Basics Co-op Board of Directors, and to Sverre David Roang and Jim Hutchinson, who were re-elected to the Board this spring. They will serve 2015-2017 terms. Sunday Strawberry Salad Submitted by: Pat & Larry Anderson Ingredients: 1/2 red onion, minced 1 pint strawberries, sliced Fresh salad greens Candied almonds (below) Dressing (below) Candied Almonds 1/2cup slivered almonds 2Tbsp melted butter 1/3cup sugar Prep: Combine sugar and butter, stir in almonds. Cook until browned. They may clump up once cooled, put in a zip lock bag and break up with a hammer. Dressing 3/4cup light mayo (not miracle whip) 1/4cup milk 2Tbsp poppy seeds 2Tbsp balsamic vinegar 1/3cup sugar Instructions: Combine salad greens, red onion, strawberries and cooled candied almonds. Mix dressing ingredients together and refrigerate. Add dressing to salad just before serving. Enjoy!
