We would like to take a quick minute to introduce ourselves to you and to share with you the vision and desired outcome for this editorial photo shoot - that we hope you will share in and partner with us in bringing to life.
My name is Rachel Baskin and I am the proud owner and principal photographer of Baskin Creative Co. - a boutique, fine art wedding & portrait photography studio based in Regina serving brides from all across western Canada and destinations beyond. I specialize in offering newly engaged couples a luxury photography experience by creating elegant portraits and romantic wedding images that evoke a sense of timelessness appeal and charm.
Creating the vision of this shoot alongside Rachel is me, Payton Patterson - the proud owner and lead designer of Payton's Place Designs. I am a Regina-based, interior and floral designer with over a decade of specialized experience in designing and creating custom bouquets, boutonnières, corsages, wedding arch installations and, table centrepieces at my clients' requests. I love to provide my clients with beautiful and bespoke florals that are as unique as their wedding style and celebration.

T H E I N S P I R A T I O N B E H I N D T H I S S H O O T
Payton and I met on the set of a styled shoot that I (Rachel) organized at The Hotel Saskatchewan in March of 2023. Together with the rest of the creative team that collaborated on that shoot, we are proud to say that our work was selected for digital publication in Confetti Magazine - one of Canada's largest wedding publications. In the Fall of 2023, we collaborated yet again on another successful wedding-themed photoshoot that is set to be published in print by Mint-The Wedding Experience magazine and digitally online by Brontë Bride later this summer. While we are over the moon with the outcome of these collaborations, we find that we are ready and eager for another collaborative opportunity Our desired goal with this project is to create a uniquely beautiful and compelling styled shoot that is distinct in its’ classical beauty, romantic charm and, baroque and ornate elements.
We are pushing ourselves to flex our creative mettle and create a well-designed and curated project that is thoughtfully put together, with beautiful and distinctive design elements that leave a lasting impression and make a bold statement that we are proud to showcase in our respective portfolios and that will make this styled shoot a strong contender for a publication.

In consultation and in agreement with Payton, I (Rachel) have created a Pinterest board that best represents what we envision for this photo shoot. I have gathered pins that cover all of the areas we would like to showcase in this styled shoot and I invite you to look at each section of the Pinterest board so that you can get a good idea of the overall feel and vision we are aiming for with this shoot. I am also including the mood board I created for this shoot in this proposal. I feel that between the mood board and Pinterest vision board, you will likely have a very clear understanding of the direction we are heading in for this shoot.
Accompanying this proposal is the design brief and floral package, graciously put together by Payton, that outlines in greater detail all of the design elements we are looking to incorporate in this shoot, the flowers that we will be using, as well as the colour palette for this shoot. Between Payton's design brief and floral package as well as my collaboration proposal, we trust that our vision and objectives are for this project will be clearly communicated to you. Together, we will create stunning work that will elevate the standing of our current portfolios, showcase our excellence and skill to potential and future brides and, ensure that our photo shoot is a strong contender for publication!
Once we have completed the photo shoot, I will submit the images to the publications listed below in the hopes that we would be selected to be featured. While I cannot guarantee that we will indeed be selected for publication, I do believe that the calibre of work we produce will make us strong candidates for publication

There is no denying that being published would be deeply satisfying because it would be the culmination of a lot of hard work and dedication finally paying off - and that moment would definitely be one worth savouring as it would be well-earned. A lesser known but extremely valuable benefit of being published outside of the favourable publicity is the fact that being published improves our respective SEOs on search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. and helps boost our online presence. Having these backlinks from other websites that redirect back to our respective websites helps us all to rank higher in Google searches and this has the great potential to increase our leads and inquiries exponentially and consistently over time While the initial buzz and media hype of being published will eventually settle, strong SEO backlinks from other websites will continue to pay dividends well beyond the initial publication date.
Regarding when and where the styled shoot is scheduled, Payton and I have opted to create this shoot at the lovely Kiwanis Waterfall Park. As we envision this shoot set in lush green grounds during the warmer summer months, we have settled on Thursday, July 25th, 2024 as the proposed date for this styled shoot. We hoping that setting the date for this shoot on a weekday as opposed to the weekend will not interfere with any prior wedding bookings or commitments you may already have in place As our shoot is set during the summer season, we would love to see this shoot published in season, however, this is ultimately at the discretion of the publication.
