Athletics Camps
Shotokan Pre-Karate
Ages 4-6
Young children will develop flexibility, strength, and coordination in fun yet disciplined activities. This program is specifically designed for growing minds and bodies to enhance memory and agility.
Shotokan Karate
Ages 7+
Youth karate classes will put children in touch with their bodies and offer a good mix of strength training, with cardiovascular and flexibility exercises. Adult classes release tension, develop total-body fitness, and build stamina and overall productivity. Parent/child classes are a great way to spend quality time with your child, while coordinating muscles, developing coordination, and improving cardiovascular fitness.
Lacrosse Camp
Ages 7-14
Come play the fastest game on two feet! Experienced staff will teach and develop campers in the skills of proper stick handling, dodging, passing, shooting, offense, and defense systems. Individual and game simulation drills will be taught through a progressive practice plan in order to prepare the players for game play. Camp will conclude with a full field scrimmage. Please note: required equipment for boys includes: helmet, shoulder pads, arm guards, gloves, and mouth guard. Equipment is available to rent through River City Lacrosse. Players will be divided into teams by grade. Bring a water bottle.
Ultimate Frisbee Camp
Ages 6-13
The Batavia Park District is partnering with Chicago Union, Chicago’s professional AUDL team, to offer a week-long Ultimate Frisbee camp this summer! Campers will learn basic rules, throwing and catching techniques, and offensive/defensive strategies to develop skills through games and activities that emphasize teamwork, good spirit, and the joy of play. Participants also receive a Union disc, replica jersey, and four tickets to a home game. All ability levels are encouraged to join!
Tennis Camp
Ages 4-13
Join us for an unforgettable week of tennis and fun! Tennis Camp will cover proper stroke production, strategies, tactics, and point play. We will have some tennis rackets, but players are encouraged to bring their own. Please bring athletic wear, tennis shoes, and a water bottle.
