osentino Group, the world leader in the production and distribution of innovative surfaces for architecture and design, is pleased to work with Kim Lewis, "The Little Lady with Big Ideas", best known as the Lead Designer behind ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" and founder of Kim Lewis Designs in Austin, TX. She has selected Silestone速 Eternal Statuario for her kitchen countertops for her new "Joshua Tree" Tiny Home in South Austin, Texas. Kim has impressively and efficiently designed her 560 square foot home that embraces nature and maximises indoor/outdoor living. The key to success in designing a tiny home is multi-functionality - surfaces must be durable and beautiful and can even double as art to add unique character. In the kitchen specifically, Kim designs a space that matches form and function, incorporating elements from the past and present. She uses reclaimed wood flooring salvaged from a 1960s house in East Austin, Bluestar and Big Chill appliances reminiscent of the 1970s; a Kohler sink and Silestone速 countertops adds a modern, practical touch. Statuario from the Silestone速 Eternal Series was the perfect selection for Kim as a countertop surface. She loves the texture that looks like marble, and the durability that is highly resistant to stains, knocks, scratches and heat. This is very important to Kim and her husband as they live outside of town and cook a lot at home. With the colour palette inspired by Joshua Tree National Park in California and a 1972 painting of the desert and John Wayne, Kim uses a balance and mix of fun colours combined with earth tones and organic materials to paint and decorate the house to embrace a colourful, eclectic and whimsical style. To complete her dream home, Kim adds a claw foot tub and many windows to let in natural light. With the LaCantina bi-folding doors, Kim's home almost feels like the perfect 'indoor camping' experience. She can lay in bed at night and still see the hillcountry Texas stars! his year, the 28th MIPIM Awards took place on 15 March 2018 at a gala ceremony held in the Grand Auditorium of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes. Developed by M+S Pte Ltd (M+S), Marina One together with its sister project DUO are two landmark properties borne out of the historic 2010 Singapore and Malaysia land swap deal. “The team at M+S is extremely proud to win this prestigious accolade. Since the inception of the project, we have set out with a clear vision to be a game changer in the way people live, work and play. Marina One’s Green Heart was a bold decision on our part to have a diverse garden which binds the four towers together. This creates a park-like environment where the community can meaningfully interact with nature, within a development that is designed with sustainability at its core,” said Kemmy Tan, CEO of M+S. Marina One is designed by Christoph Ingenhoven from Ingenhoven Architects, a world- renowned leader in sustainable architecture. The Green Heart, a core feature of Marina One, was designed in close cooperation with London-based landscape architects Gustafson Porter + Bowman and ICN Design International, its local partner. The Green Heart was conceived as a civic space which serves as an urban oasis for workers in and around Marina One to enjoy. Today, the development is home to global multinational corporations including Swiss private bank Julius Baer, consultancy PwC Singapore, co-working space provider JustCo, financial services provider Prudential, ride hailing platform Grab, agri- business Olam International, BP Global, Daiwa Capital, and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG). The Green Heart provides a sanctuary for people from these companies as well as the area around to enjoy respite from the hustle and bustle of the Central Business District (CBD).

Spanning 65,000 square feet, the Green Heart houses a total of 386 different plant species and special technologies to recreate a three-storey waterfall. Featuring an open, heart- shaped green core with multiple stepped gardens and designed with lower and mid-level sky terraces and waterfalls, the Green Heart is the only biodiversity garden within the Marina Bay CBD of this scale. Together with the rest of the greenery housed within the development, it forms a space equivalent to five Olympic sized swimming pools. As a sustainable development, Marina One has set the standard for the rest of Asia to follow, achieving LEED Platinum pre-certification and BCA Green Mark Platinum certification. The organic shape of the building complex with its iconic louvres and the verdant greenery contributes to an improvement of the microclimate and richness of biodiversity within the development. The compact and efficient layout is complemented by energysaving ventilation systems, highly effective external solar screening devices, and glaring that reduces solar radiation into the building. Other sustainable features include rainwater harvesting to promote water efficiency, regenerative lift braking, LED lighting controlled by motion sensors and advanced air handling units, to enable energy efficiency. “M+S has been a pioneer in delivering large-scale integrated projects which have changed the Singapore skyline and achieved new heights in defining sustainability within developments. This award, together with our success in attracting new homeowners and global MNCs to the development, is an endorsement of our efforts in pushing the boundaries of integrated living and sets our developments apart as coveted properties of the future,” concluded Kemmy Tan. to be applied on all surfaces be it wall, floor, furniture, bathroom and even boat interiors. What Is DiDio? It is a technical ceramic made in Italy, measuring up to 3200 x 1600 x 6 mm expressing all the potential of porcelain in a product of unrivalled performance and appearance. This is because slabs are modeled after the most beautiful marble, onyx, stone, wood, metal and concrete slabs in the world to curate the most perfect variation for the collection. These surfaces are textured to model their respective look ranging from marble to stone inspired look and feel. Durability with aesthetics that is equivalent if not more pleasing than the best looks out there allows designers to give free rein to their creativity with new large sizes and minimal thicknesses, making it the perfect material for all surfaces and applications.
• Lower conditioning costs, thanks to decreased dispersion; • Far thinner walls since there is no need for an internal insulating wall;
Wall Cladding The material only weighs a sheer 70 kg making it perfect for external wall cladding. A ventilated facade is one of the options for wall-covering and insulation system capable of attending to construction, hygrometric, static, safety and aesthetic aspects of a building. It consists of an outer cladding, an air space several centimeters deep, a sub-structure made of aluminum anchored to the building and an insulating layer secured to the outer wall of the building. The main functions of the outer cladding are aesthetic and protective. Main advantages: • Uniform insulation of the building without thermal bridge; • Elimination of water vapor produced inside the building with no obstacles or barriers; • Less structural movements caused by changes in the outside temperature and to the differences between the expansions coefficients of the various materials making up a building;

Anti-Scalding Feature By Ariston Models With CT technology The test also shows that for the model SMC33, with the temperature setting at a position when the outlet temperature is 37°C, the triangle icon on the front panel will start blinking when the inlet temperature reaches 40°C and above. The test also shows that the current cuts-off when the inlet temperature reaches 40°C. Therefore, with this anti-scalding feature, Ariston models with CT technology is safe for childuse.

The test does not take into consideration the time spent by users to adjust the shower temperature when there are changes to their shower temperature due to changes in water flow rate, which often happens to a normal user. Taking this into consideration, even more energy and water will be wasted in the process. “At Ariston, we believe in offering high quality, energy efficient products that have limited impact on the environment. Our users deserve only the best in comfort. With the increase in utility bills in Singapore, we are also hoping that our technology will be able to help our users save water and energy through their daily use of water heaters.” Says Mr. Richard Chua, Director of South East Pacific, Ariston Thermo. hat makes a sanitary facility high quality, anywhere in the world? Cleanliness, economical use of water, sanitary equipment with a long life span, as well as a design that is well thought-out and appealing to users. As an expert for valves technology in public sanitary facilities, German company SCHELL is very familiar with these requirements. For almost 90 years, the family-run business has designed and manufactured regulating angle valves and appliance connection fittings, as well as fittings for washbasins, showers, WCs and urinals. Anyone with such a success story knows how to maintain the value of a property over the long term. All over the world, technical architects and installers, property owners and managers alike place their trust in the competence and experience of the European market and technology leader when faced with the fit-out of high-quality toilets, showers and wash rooms. Fields of application range from high-traffic properties such as stadiums and sports venues to the challenging environments in schools and day nurseries, and also include the premium sector of hotels, shopping centres and museums. SCHELL distributes its products to over 50 countries and is also present in Singapore. Thanks to the wide variety of washbasin taps, shower taps and panels, WC and urinal flushing systems plus compatible mounting modules, SCHELL can easily fulfil a very broad spectrum of requirements. Common to all products is their high ‘Made in Germany’ quality and their robust construction. Valves and taps also feature a particularly appealing and timeless design. Together, these ensure sanitary facilities that retain their high quality for a long time. In its product development, SCHELL always follows the maxim of providing the best protection for user health. This is achieved by taking steps to preserve the quality of the drinking water supply – such as the sole use of materials approved for use with drinking water, programmable stagnation flushes for electronic taps and optional thermal disinfection. All taps are also especially easy to clean. No-touch taps also offer protection from the spread of pathogens that cause disease. Another feature shared by all taps is their economical use of water. With self-closing taps, water consumption can be cut by up to 50 percent as the fitting shuts off automatically during soaping or after washing. Taps with infra-red sensors are even more economical. They only work when water is really needed. This can reduce water consumption by up to 60 percent. A key role is also played by the regulating angle valve – and not only in the history of the company but also in terms of installing and operating the drinking water system. SCHELL has spent over eight decades on the continuous development, modification and optimisation of this valve. By 2015, SCHELL had sold over 500,000,000 regulating angle valve units worldwide. Today, the

valve, as the interface between the tap and the drinking water system, plays a key role in saving water. Thanks to its regulating function, the water flow can be adjusted so as to reduce water consumption by up to 40 percent. Taps with a regulating angle valve are also very easy to fit securely, and can be separated cleanly and precisely for maintenance work. This ensures the efficient management of the property and rapid repairs in the event of damage. Preventing such damage is naturally even more desirable. To this end, SCHELL has designed a regulating angle valve with a filter, whose mesh size of 250 µm filters harmful particles out of the drinking water system to protect valuable taps. From the tap to the angle valve, SCHELL offers configuration options for public sanitary facilities that not only consolidate and maintain but also increase the long-term value of a property. local artisan created the distressed steel entrance door that opens into a broad entrance. Featured is a cantilevered bench and ranks of coat hooks salvaged from the old Bellevue ski chalet in nearby Morin Heights. The space is a perfect dumping ground for gear in any season, and the more the merrier. The open concept living area beyond is designed for gathering, too. The home sleeps eight in four private suites but can welcome many more for parties around the custom-made oak table and the massive kitchen island. The walls and cathedral ceiling are wood plank, and from the rafters hangs a custom lamp construction. The entrance level floors are clad with oversized porcelain tile that reads like a concrete slab extending through the building from the front terrace to back. A few steps below hardwood floors stretch through the house and into the bedrooms. A glass enclosed staircase allows unobstructed views of the valley from anywhere in the house. This scenic perch was built on the foundations of a tired 1960s Swiss chalet. The 161,000 square metres of exhibition space was fully sold out several months in advance despite the availability of an additional 5,000 square metres in the new halls 28, 29 and 30, which proved entirely adequate for the needs of an international exhibition on the scale of Cersaie. A total of 840 exhibitors took part, including 314 non-Italian companies – more than a third of the total – from 40 different countries. Ceramic tile was the best represented sector with 452 companies, followed by bathroom furnishings with 181 exhibitors, a figure that confirmed the importance of this segment at the show.

The Europa Auditorium was packed to capacity with an audience of 1,800 for the Keynote Lecture given by Pritzker Prize laureate Richard Rogers as part of the Building, Dwelling, Thinking programme. All the cultural events held in the Architecture Gallery were strongly attended, including a fascinating conversation between the two master architects Mario Botta and Guido Canali. Again this year Cersaie for Students attracted the participation of more than 3,100 high school and university students, who took part in meetings on ceramic design and the lesson in reverse given by photographer Silvia Camporesi, which was attended by an audience of more than 1,000 students. The enormous media interest in Cersaie was demonstrated by the presence of 889 journalists (510 Italian and 379 international) during the five days of the show and by the packed-out conversation events held in the 13 Press CafĂŠs, where magazine editors discussed themes of topical interest with guests from the world of design and architecture. The partnership with Bologna Design Week, now in its fourth year, offered a packed programme of evening events in the city of Bologna, centred around the headquarters in Palazzo Isolani. These events proved a big success with visitors to Cersaie and will be further developed in the coming years.
Fifth edition of ADI Ceramics & Bathroom Design Award The fifth ADI Ceramics & Bathroom Design Award ceremony was held today during the thirty-sixth edition of Cersaie. The initiative aims to recognise the most innovative Italian products in the ceramic tile and bathroom furnishings sector and is organised in collaboration with the Industrial Design Association ADI as part of the Building, Dwelling, Thinking cultural programme. The award ceremony was held in the space inHall 30 devoted to the exhibition The Sound of Design. Confindustria Ceramica was represented at the ceremony by vice chairman Emilio Mussini. Three products from three different companies were chosen in the ceramic tile segment and a further three in the bathroom furnishing category. Two special mentions were also awarded, one for each category. The winning companies in the ceramic tile sector were Ceramica Fondovalle Spa with their product 20Pure, Mosaico+ with Nuova Gamma and Decoratori Bassanesi with Segments. The companies honoured in the bathroom furnishing category were Stella Rubinetterie with Simple, Arblu with Sistema Pietrablu and Duka with Natura 4000. The special mentions went to 41zero42 in the ceramic tile sector and Pba Spa with Ausili a scomparsa (foldaway aids) in the bathroom furnishing sector. To choose the winners, a panel of experts consisting of Silvia Stanzani

(designer), Oscar G. Colli (cofounder of magazine Il Bagno oggi e domani) and Valentina Downey (chairman of ADI’s Emilia-Romagna Delegation) spent the first few days of the show examining the exhibited products and selecting those that represented the best combination of innovation and design excellence. The chosen products will be shortlisted for submission to the ADI Design Index 2019, an annual publication by ADI containing the best of Italian design put into production and selected by the ADI Permanent Design Monitor. This index covers all types of products and systems as well as theoretical, process and company research in the field of design. For more information, visit www.cersaie.it.

5mm
by Treemee 5mm is one of the best known and most successful lines from Rubinetterie Treemme. Over recent years, this model has won numerous awards, including the Compasso D’Oro ADI in 2016, the De-sign Plus in 2013, the German Design Award, the ADI design Award, the ADI Index, the Gran Design Etico and the Red Dot Design Award in 2014. 5mm is in fact the constant thickness, not only when the water flows out from the mouth, but also of the inner passage with all its mixing dynamics. This patent in fact allows the passage of water in 5mm also in the flat version. The use of a single thickness for all the tap components, for the control levers and also for the applications of the series make the 5mm design light and imperceptible. It represents technology studied in detail to ensure an innovative appearance, a cutting-edge line and at the same time is testament to the great attention paid to ecosustainability and water saving by the company.

In Statuario White the purity of the natural materials are reflected in ceramic tiles that allow you to create exclusive environments.
Linea
by Itlas Linea, which distinguishes itself from the others for the aluminium structure of its prefinished furniture. A clean collection, of strong visual impact, which can be modified and above all customized thanks to the possibility of combining wood - always main character in Itlas’ creations with other materials. The solutions displayed during the Salone will show the combination between wood and marble, thanks to the cooperation with Luce from Carrara, a company from Querceta (Lucca, Tuscany) leader in the processing of a unique and extraordinary material such as the marble of Apuane of Michelangelo.

Le Pietre by Globo
Precious veining ranging from white to dark grey and gilt, the elegance of the colour palette and the exclusiveness of its splendour make natural stones the ideal inspiration for the Ceramica Globo collection of textural finishes, now further extended to include new solutions inspired by highly differentiated marbles and natural stones. The purity of prized white marble recalls the splendour of the classical ages, while creating a contrast with the dark arabesques of its veins. Particularly evocative and elegant, the darker variants are ideal for creating a pleasing contrast with modern interiors. The terrazzo stones typical of the Italian tradition, often selected for extremely modern residential projects, team up perfectly with bathrooms of more austere lines.
Art Deco (Hexagon) by ITT Ceramic
The Art Déco model, by Hexa Collections, is an original porcelain that follows a very fashionable trend such as hexagons, both as flooring and cladding. Manufactured with digital technology in matt finish and 23x27 (9”x10”) format.

by IDEA IDEA offers a range of raised or flush-fitting shower trays, combinations of design and materials that can be customised with non-standard sized models and different colour schemes: Catino in Solid Gel, standard and made to measure Onda, Kubo and Street in Aquatek and Linea in Technogel.
Lux
by Flaminia Lux encapsulates the beauty of ceramics, the charm of light and the know-how of a factory. “I wanted to design an authentic object with exacting standards, which responds to multiple needs and uses. Lux reminds us, perhaps unconsciously, of those early twentieth-century lamps, which we come across from time to time in locations such as factories. Lux can be fitted to the wall or ceiling in order to light a variety of spaces: bathrooms, hotel corridors, bedrooms, or restaurants. It works perfectly in both public and private spaces.
