Applications and Allocations
The application process Once you have accepted Bath Spa University as your firm choice with UCAS, you will receive an email in April with details about your accommodation eligibility and how to apply. For full details of the eligibility criteria please see our website. You are then invited to apply for accommodation through our online application system. Applications are not dealt with on a first come first served basis and you have until the specified deadline to submit an application in order to be considered for accommodation. We will start making offers of accommodation in the third week of August after A level results. You will then be asked to either accept your offer of accommodation and pay your deposit or decline your offer of accommodation. Information about moving in and registration will be emailed to you once your deposit has been paid. Key Points • If you have a disability or medical need you must declare this at the time of application. If you wish to be considered for priority status. Students will be required to provide medical evidence to the university. • When your select your accommodation preferences, you are making a commitment to take up an offer of accommodation for any of these accommodation choices. You should not select an accommodation option, for which you are not prepared to accept an offer. • Once an application form has been submitted, you will be permitted to make amendments to your accommodation preferences until the application closes. In the event that more than one application form is received, only the first application form received by the Student Accommodation Team will be used in the allocation process. • Please be aware that it is your responsibility to ensure that your personal contact information is correct at the time of application and to inform the University of any change to contact details or circumstances between application submission and arrival at the University. You must also update UCAS Track with any change in circumstances. Allocations After the deadline for accommodation applications, those holding priority status are allocated rooms first. Priority status is given to the following: • Applicants with disabilities or students with access needs (who have provided medical / supporting information to the university and been approved), who have submitted an accommodation application by the deadline. • Full-time International (non-EU) applicants, who have submitted an accommodation application by the deadline. All other accommodation applications will be randomised; please note that rooms are not allocated on a firstcome, first-served basis. The university will try to allocate an applicant their highest ranked accommodation preference wherever possible. Every effort is made to offer applicants their first choice of accommodation, although this is not always possible due to high demand for rooms. As a result some applicants may be offered one of their other choices or in some cases accommodation for which they did not state a preference.
