Bath is a world famous, beautiful and unique city, with a thriving student community. We love being here and hope you will too! After you’re finished on campus, we encourage you to check out the city centre. We’ve prepared a handy guide of fun things to do in Bath whilst you’re visiting us!
It’s easy to explore from Bath; big cities like London, Bristol and Cardiff can be reached by train, and Bristol Airport is less than an hour away for adventures further afield.
Outstanding sports venues and facilities, lively nightlife, restaurants and cafés sit alongside great independent shops and quiet corners. Bath also has a vibrant arts scene, including the annual Bath Festival and SPARKFest, both of which BSU students help deliver.
You’ll graduate industry ready in a city thriving with creative industries and leading organisations in education, publishing, creative technology and more. There is also a large community of entrepreneurs and microbusinesses.
There’s plenty of history to see in Bath; the whole city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hop on an open top bus tour and check out the sights, or follow the city trail walking tour and see iconic historic locations like the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, and the Assembly Rooms. TOUR THROUGH TIME
Bath is renowned for its huge array of teahouses, most of which dates back to the 18th century. Get the ‘true’ Georgian experience with a Bath Bun at Sally Lunn’s, the oldest bakehouse in Bath, or enjoy a cream tea at one of the many other independent cafes across the city.
The city centre might be bustling with its fair share of shops, restaurants, and bars, but it’s also home to many beautiful green spaces. Take a tour around the Parade Gardens, or laze in front of the Royal Crescent at Victoria Park and take in the views.
Bath has become renowned as a sought-after film location and hosts its own Film Festival every year. Why not go on a tour of your favourite Bridgerton spots, or see where Timothee Chalamet danced in Wonka?
Full of independents, vintage shops and high street brands, Bath is a shopper’s paradise.
